  1. It’s possible about BTIG - what@Contemplating God said about the deadlines with S&S, as well as how she is going to put the book together this month. She finished Violet on or around June 28 according to this post and it was done in time for release 3 months later. The fact that Lana is “disappearing” just to work on the book probably means she’ll finish it in time sooner than that, so I could see BTIG coming out in late March, just a few weeks after COTCC! but I totally wouldn’t be surprised if it came out later this year.
  2. I was at work one day and Video Games was on the radio! Where were you when Lana dropped the LFL trailer?

  4. Yes, that’s exactly what I thought! Because I remember reading the caption and her specifically mentioning just the video and nothing else! Yes, I remember his caption! Lana only mentioned the video in her caption so hopefully that puts everyone’s wariness from last night about the pre-order not happening to ease!
  5. I think some people were saying she edited the caption of the photo of her and the wolf so that it only said the video was coming the 11th, but I don’t think she ever said anything about the pre-order in the caption of that photo! The only indication of the pre-order on the 11th was at the end of the video teaser. So nothing has really changed!
  6. In the spirit of the phrase, “always forget, never forgive” I guess we could say these last few days have been the “storm before the calm” Almost 4 days!
  7. I feel like it also says a lot about Lana’s life too! I can imagine she’s had a life that has posed a lot of challenges and so her first few records were her working through those things - and she even said she wasn’t necessarily happy with her story up until a certain point in the LFL era; she was just chronicling things as they were. I love all of Lana’s records so much but I definitely find myself resonating with her newer records as she puts them out because I personally find that I move with her. I think Lana has definitely implied that she’s in a much lighter place than she was when writing her first four records so of course the way her life is at a given moment will translate into her records - hence, the more “natural” presentation of NFR. I’m grateful for all her albums and love the journey she’s taken us on but I’m also happy that she’s expressed being in an overall more casual place where she can feel even more free to do what she wants (even though she kind of always did)!
  8. Yeah, I don’t think she’ll be as active on social media after Monday compared to these past few days! Social media can be so draining and Lana definitely deserves a break if she feels that she needs one! <3 I actually always admired that about her, the fact that she always stuck to her guns and knew what was best for her and just did that.
  9. I didn’t interpret Lana being gone a while to mean anything major to be honest! I interpreted it to mean she wouldn’t be posting her little photo dumps or personal moments for the next 6 days. I still think she is going to post things related to business - so the album cover, tracklist, and a little clip from the music video on Monday (but then not so much after that)!
  10. I always love the feeling of when she starts to post more consecutively on the days leading up to her formal album announcements! this kind of momentum is what makes the pre-release fun and it’s a gift to be able to share it with you all! <3
  11. She’s just showing us the compilation (manuscript pages in order) for Violet to let us know that she is going to do the same for Behind the Iron Gates now! They are two separate books!
  12. I feel like she will! We know she’s at least started recording it because Patent Leather Do-Over was posted with that gorgeous audiovisual! I love the audiobook so much. I really enjoyed how it connected to NFR and I can’t wait to see how Violet segues into Behind the Iron Gates and how that will link to Chemtrails!
  13. Yes, same and exactly! Her latest post of the video with all of Violet’s manuscript pages suggests that’s what she’s doing!
  14. I guess that means Behind the Iron Gates could still be coming this year! Probably not in March but hopefully soon! “Compiling” it suggests she’s just structuring the order of the book and getting all her pages formatted for widespread book printing and distribution I guess?
  15. I respect your opinion! I actually think music that is made by a true artist does exactly this - it divides and encourages conversation! What's funny is that a lot of people claim NFR to be lyrically 'watered down' (and I don't know if this is because maybe I grew up with Lana and so my sensibility and personal taste I guess has been shaped by her since I discovered her 11 years ago when I was entering my teens) but I found it, paired with the singer-songwriter-ish production, to reflect her maturation and I think the subdued sound and simplicity that you mentioned was intentional (or at least was on Lana's mind on a subconscious level) because she was in a place where paring things down was what she needed. The lyrical transparency of NFR compared to her other records is endearing to me! I love all the records that came before NFR just as much and I disagree with critics' negative characterizations of those records 100% - but I see the beauty in the simplicity of a record like NFR and I personally appreciate it for what it is! To each their own! <3
  16. Norman Fucking Rockwell deserves all of the acclaim it gets - which I know is not an unpopular opinion outside of this site. The album feels fresh and expansive for Lana without feeling disingenuous and it yields some of Lana's objectively best songs of her career; I'm particularly thinking of Mariners Apartment Complex, Venice Bitch, The Greatest, and Hope is a Dangerous Thing For a Woman Like Me to Have - But I Have it. Of course, personal taste affects how you feel about the album, but you can't deny the presence, importance, and determination of the four songs I just listed. If you love this record with all your heart like me, then you probably can speak to the other 10 songs that, in my opinion, are also amazing! It also feels like quintessential Lana and I think that's what makes it such good music; it's comforting because it's very much true to the LDR brand but it offers a perspective that is wistful and productive in a sense! I also love the organic feel to the production - something about a good old piano gives the record a timeless quality, alongside some gorgeous guitars, strings, and the few heavier beats here and there. It has everything that is true to who Lana is, all while being cohesive. <3

  20. Early November! Dean Reid said he finished mixing the song exclusively for the video in the beginning of November (2 weeks before the release date of November 19th)!
  21. Re-listened to Honeymoon for the first time in a bit and really felt moved by it more than I usually am. I went back to this thread to find a little thing I wrote 3 years ago and it only holds more truth with time. Truly an album that will unravel all its layers in the years to come and to me, is the essence of Lana’s artistry <3
  22. I remember she spent New Years in Hawaii last year too! Hope she has lots of fun and stays safe <3
