Sorry but I have to disagree. Ultraviolence has much more intricate and interesting melodies than NFR. A lot of the instrumentals on NFR feel unintentionally distored and weak, the whole album lacks bass, drum beats or even heavy electronic beats (besides HTD and Cinnamon Girl), which makes it sound dry and flat most of the time. It's about counterbalancing instruments to create a balanced sound. Nothing groundbreaking melodically, the piano bits all sound basic and not intricate. Also, I don't know who mixed that album, but Lana's voice sounds like a whisper on a lot of tracks, like it's drowned in weaky instrumentals. 
 
Ultraviolence is a fucking atmospheric and transcendent album, NFR can only wish.
 
Norman Fucking Rockwell has great songs, but it's not as flawless as you make it sound to be, not saying Ultraviolence was either, but it's not on the same level for sure.

alright lana should just produce her next album on her own she can play the guitar with acrylics on she's a woman of many talents

i wish lana would do an album with mark ronson, i know they did some songs for honeymoon that were scrapped but she could have her back to black moment 

My only hope and dream is that she finally is making a proper album with Miles Kane. She mentioned in an interview for L4L that they formed a band but not much came from it. Imagine Lana vocal with Last Shadow Puppets / Arctic Monkeys sound....

No because Noir is her opus magnum and California isn't. 

i saw some other people say a lot of the songs sound like demos and i agree, i do like the album but i thought this ever since mariner's was released, the production just sounds so unfinished and not very prominent almost like you'd think after making us wait so long they'd make sure everything is up to par

i actually love HTD but one of my biggest issues with it is that her vocals sound really weak and she cuts off and her voice cracks a lot then the production gets really messy and ends up overpowering her voice towards the end

happiness is a butterfly too like it feels like they added those interludes in at the very last minute because they couldn't come up with verses 

Like, I don't want to come across as bitter, because usually I like everything that she puts out, but everything about this "era" has seemed so lazy in every department: her way of singing has become "lazy", the selfies as cover pictures, and the way she did BAR wrong like that.
 
I bet TNBAR (and DT) was one of the last additions to NFR, as she stated that the album was done and had 11 tracks initially. So idk. I'll just force myself to appreciate it I guess

she has so many goofy ass lyrics on this album omg
 
i mean she has them on every album but it’s so much more noticeable here because of how mature the music is
