I hope she takes the time that she needs to develop a new sound and to write smart lyrics, to find the right people to collab and record with and I also hope that she knows the music industry well enough by now to figure out which effect her music is going to have on people.
 
I'm also not a huge fan of the idea that her new album is released right after or in the middle of a tour again. It just messes up everything and everybody is torn between the old and the new era.
 
As much as I strive for more Lana songs, it is more important to me that they are different, nicely-composed and well-produced.
In my opinion it is almost impossible to find new themes when you're still singing BTD & Paradise songs every night and also have to deal with the UV sound. Since she hasn't performed since October I'm pretty sure that she has enough time to find these new themes. However, it'd be nice if she sat down in the studio after she has experienced the Endless Summer Tour and listens to her new songs again. Maybe she'll also be able to add some influences to the album. 
 
Also the last album was released only 6 months ago, we shouldn't be so thirsty yes we should

Since there isn't any recent news and this thread tends to go off the rails, why don't we all name what we would like to see the album end up looking and sounding like? Just for fun!
 
Producers: Mainly Ronson, but a couple of tracks by David Lynch as well. I love his work with Julee Cruise and Lykke Li and it's perfect for Lana.
 
Genre: A mixture of Nina Simone-esque jazz and psychedelic rock/dream pop (sort of like Mazzy Star, The War on Drugs, or Beach House).
 
Lyrical content: I'm hoping for something more stripped-down and upbeat, but I love the idea of Fellini-inspired surrealism. As always, very personal but with a dose of story-telling and social commentary.
 
Artwork: I'm hoping for a colorful cover that features Lana in her usual cover pose, but smiling and set against a beautiful beach backdrop. Something like the Galore shoot. And hopefully the disc will feature new flowers...maybe hibiscus since they are lively and colorful.

I'm really confused as to how (A) This thread is still open (anyone remember the Pre-UV thread that was closed?) and (B) how iwasborntodie and Me. I Am Mariah are not banned, as every thread they snake into quickly sinks. Can someone not do anything about this?

I know, right! That Lana del Ray girl isn't really that great. Idk why so many of her fans have joined Mariahboards.

For the sake of touring and live performances, I appreciate that Lana doesn't feature others in her songs. I like that Lana can deliver 100% of the song live than have 50% of the live performance lost to a recording from the other artist who would not be available to perform live on Lana's tour.

So I adore that intro since it really gives me Hawaiian summer vibes and sounds so beautifully tragic. The verses are also quite nice and it's great to hear her clear voice again (I like her voice on UV but it's just refreshing to listen to a loud, clear voice again). Somehow I don't like the chorus at all. The way it is sang kinda annoys me and I feel the strong need to wake her up during singing. Finally some scatting on a studio version !
 
I know that this is Emile's song and that's why I think that Wait For Life doesn't foreshadow the Honeymoon sound. It still would be amazing if she adapted the summer vibes.
 
All in all Wait For Life is a decent song imo but it doesn't move anything inside of me.

This is a nice read, hope the movie will happen. I really want her to play this woman, I'm curious about her acting. But even the idea is carried out the way she wants it and not her playing just writing etc. that would be still great.
 
On another note, am I the only one who thinks her SNL performance wasn't bad at all? Yeah it had some flaws but look at Iggy... She didn't have half of the backlash Lana received for months if not more than a year, yet everyone's forgotten Iggy's 'performance'.

Sadly, no. Especially not Miley. Ignorance is bliss.

Or, y'know, you could take your rudely worded opinions on UV to a thread that possibly at LEAST has UV in its title. Just a suggestion, though.

I'm flabbergasted by the fact that some of you believe that Haynie, Heath or Nowels could have ever done this record justice.
