This so adds to the mystique of her claimed teen drinking. I wonder if her talk of "losing her reputation" has something to do with her early days as a preppy, Catholic sweetheart. It must have been the talk of the town if she really got into enough trouble to get sent off to boarding school.

"Have you heard? Rob and Pat's Lizzy was drinking light beer behind the school."
"Oh my, she used to be such a darling with the litter picking and all!"

Hold up guys I figured out one Lana mystery. Lana didn't change the Mr./Mrs. Campbell story. Mr. C didn't turn in to a woman. He just had a wife. She fucked Mr. C & was "friends" with Mrs. C. "I know your wife & she wouldn't mind" from Cola is about Mr. C.

    Mystery solved.

I'm on page 5 (this is my second time re-reading this monstrous thread!) and I wanted to note something about BTD before the idea got away from me.

Note: Really long and will probably get longer!

    Now for Sirens + AKA.

[EDIT: wow that was a formatting fail!!!
EDIT 2: Finished BTD and Paradise]

kurt never liked those comparisons though when they were made by the media and he'd make fun of them. he'd check into hotels as simon ritchie (sid vicious' real name). and i think courtney's romanticising quite a bit. i doubt they liked the fights they had, they wrecked their marriage. courtney once threw a juice maker at kurt's head and he in turn choked her. another time they fought for hours at the heart-shaped box shoot about kurt having to look a certain way and he put out his cigarette on his forehead to piss her off. etc. etc.

i kind of doubt lana has any in depth knowledge about any of those people, she literally only talks about their faces and sometimes voices and for k doesn't fit kurt at all, for k parts 2 barely does.

No. Traylore is overrated enough. Now that's a FACT!

A real 'N Sync reunion would have been fun and entertaining, so naturally MTV didn't do it.  They try so hard to be "edgy" it is like watching a B movie in which something is always off enough it draws more attention to what is wrong than to what is right.  I'm glad Lana didn't attend.

I'm glad "Mirrors" won VotY, though. That video actually made me cry, cause it's so beautiful. Lana should've actually been nominated for Best Female at least tbh...but of course Traylore Shit had to get it. Ugh.

if you read the whole interview, nichtern says:

I was excited. She was very original. I didn’t think she was the same as the other alt-indie girls. She also is a very intelligent and creative person. She would ride around on the subways all night sometimes, writing lyrics and stuff like that. When I was pitching her, I said, “Here’s somebody with the outer manifestation of Marilyn Monroe with the inner manifestation of Leonard Cohen.” That’s how I saw her. For people to say she’s just this created thing is wrong. She’s probably going to continue to evolve and in a way, that probably didn’t get her too much time to do that, now she’s engrossed in the public. As an artist, I’m very supportive of her.

i think we can all agree that his instincts were right

i do wonder where lana would be right now if 5-points records hadn't given her a chance to showcase her talent...would she have gotten her interscope record deal? i doubt it.

Shit, this is amazing! One of the best Lana covers I've seen (not that I've watched many, but still...). I don't like the B-B-Baby Jessie J crap that she does though.

I was under the impression that by the time he ended up in jail she had already broken up with k , (possibly had other realtionship between this time)
then when she found out he was in prison she reached out to him

"Use your one phone call on your ex girl"

Also she was living in greenwich avenue while they were together and when while they broke up - up untill the time she found out he was in jail she was still living in greenwich avenue (maybe its her apartment with her sister she had on the side)

"Got that same address if you want to write, on greenwich avenue"

Also the refrences about K and the ocean is clear in this but she doesn't talk about a califonia beach/ocean but the ocean in coney island

"Remember coney island and how we went in to the water till the waves turned blue"

Certain the cali san diego boyfriend is martin hoffman - and K is a new yorker or from her hometown/conneticut and followed her to NYC?

I don't buy for a single second that American is about Barrie. It just doesn't make any sense to me.
Dude's white af, his skin certainly isn't 'golden brown'. He also doesn't seem like the type of guy who'd listen to Crystal Method or drives fast around LA flirting with random girls, he actually seems like the exact opposite of that.

And am I the only one who thinks Bel Air is simply about / inspired by Axl Rose? It's full of GnR references (run to heavens gates, sweet child of mine, idol of roses iconic soul) & this line - You've got a flair for the violentest kind of love anywhere out there - also fits. Besides, well, it wouldn't be the first time she wrote about him, would it?

Tbh it seems like Lana never sings about Barrie.

Why don't we make one big biography topic about her life? A whole story/timeline that we can all work on by using the information, lyrics, story's & the mystery's that we got. We could also involve the lyrics in it (Like SitarHero did in the very first post). A whole biography about her (dark) past life, what she did, relationships, her family, her childhood, alcoholism, boarding school, go-go dancing, sugar daddies, the cities she lived in and what she used to do there. So we will understand her & her art better. What do you guys think?

I always sing Ride or Yayo when I clean after work hours. My own private concert, if the hobos outside the store could hear me... :omgha:
