Sorry but FOUR is fucking amazing. A pic that will represent the first time people took notice for years to come, that pic reminds me so much of when i first heard VG and was googling promo pics of her. I'll boil you!

I'm wondering why else she would mention Azealia. They certainly have to talk quite a bit. A real collaboration would be so wondrous.

  11. liam liked a post in a topic by TrailerParkDarling in Lana Del Rey interviews with Singapore MSN!
Speaking to xinmsn at the Four Seasons Hotel yesterday, Lana was her soft-spoken self but expressed shock at the hordes of fans who turned up at the Mulberry storefront to welcome her. “It was wild. The fans were respectful but excited that I was there. I thought we were just going to cut the ribbon,” said the singer who also has a Mulberry bag produced in her name.

“I remember seeing things on Twitter when people knew I was coming but I didn’t know why they cared. When I saw everyone yesterday, I wish I had gotten to talk to them more but I did manage to say Hi to a lot of people along the way,” Lana explained her regret at being unable to speak to her fans outside the more as bodyguards moved her from place to place.

Lana’s fans will understand the inspiration behind her music, which she calls as “filmic” and “art”. Lana recalled hearing Elvis Presley for the first time and said, “It was so different from what was on the radio today”. She counts artistes such as Bob Dylan and Kurt Cobain to be her inspirations but she is particular about emulating the freedom the ‘60s and the ‘90s embodied.

“It was a more hopeful feeling, I try to keep it alive. I like tradition but I was really moved by the idea of being independent and artistic. I couldn’t believe that it was possible where I could have a life that was based around making art. It was such an exciting idea, for me, that I could one day be a real artist and not have to do anything else,” Lana said.

If you are wondering if the rumours over her collaborating with Lady Gaga for upcoming album ARTPOP are true, Lana denies it flat out to us. She also denied media recently saying she was going to stop making albums. “I just said that I was starting to write soundtracks for movies, so that’s where my focus was. I don’t know though. When I was younger, my muse came to me and I felt really on fire to write a lot, but now my muse comes a lot less often,” Lana said. She will be writing soundtracks for two movies out early next year.

She said her new EP, Paradise, was born out of writing a new song every month for this year. While Lana said Paradise has a more “natural” vibe with the omission of hip-hop beats, she admitted her music comes “half from a place of darkness but half from happiness for my future”. She gets her laughs though from Tumblr, remarking how she trawled through the site last night. In her own words, “I don’t always go on Tumblr but sometimes I do because the people on there are really funny.”

Paradise will be released on November 12, 2012.

Another Lana-related confession: I do not miss lanadelrey.fm, and I think this forum is better than LDR.FM could ever be.

When you create a forum with the intent of share unreleased material, it really stunts the growth of the site/community. Instead of discussion, you had pages upon pages of people saying, "Thank you!!" "Thanks for uploading this!" "I LOVE YOU"

There were people begging/hinting for tracks to leak; becoming more and more entitled. When CG was absent from the forum, I felt more people wanted her back because of the "dry spell" of leaks, rather than genuinely missing a friend. That really bothered me.

I also felt this odd power dynamic between administrators and regular forum members and I'm not quite too sure how to describe it. I may be the only one that felt this. It may be partially attributed to the fact they had a lot of unreleased material that none of us had, and it unintentionally coloured the dynamic between the two "groups" of members. As lovely, generous, accommodating, and good-natured as the admins were (or one of them, rather), I never quite felt as though they fit in; there was some odd sort of hierarchy, some sort of unattainability, like "us" and "them". I don't know. Was I the only one that felt this way?

I think part of the unattainability stems from the fact that from the beginning, the Moderating Team there (idk why I always capitalize it, probably to feel important ) was set in stone, whereas here, members need to exhibit some sort of moderator-esque qualities and a willingness for the job for advancement. Essentially, the Moderating Team you have before you here comes directly from your community, and you are free to give your approval/disapproval of those nominating themselves. It could be you on that team if you wanted. Nothing like this was ever exhibited at LDR.fm, people you didn't really know (at least, at first) were running your community and you didn't really have a choice. It was odd, at least to me.

Did anything I write make any sense? Does anyone agree/relate to it? I swear, I'm not crazy.

I haven't listened to much of the new snippets-only American-and I'm completely fine with people's differing opinions and all, but reading this last bit really upset me. I think it's very disrespectful to Lana that you'd say she doesn't care about her music or the artistic value in it just because it didn't appeal to you. Maybe she is changing as a person, so she wrote in a different style or just wanted to experiment with sounds more on this rerelease? I don't know really, but it just makes me very sad to see you say she doesn't care because you don't like it. Personally, I think if she didn't care then she wouldn't have bothered making this EP, or having the Ride video be 10 minutes long. Idk, that actually really upset me so I'm just going to stop now.

1: When did you first discover Lana Del Rey August 2011. There was a small article about Video Games in NME magazine with a photo of Lana. Her strikingly beautiful appearance and the article made me want to know more about her, so I checked the song out immediately after reading it.
2: What was the first song that made you fall in love with her music Video Games. That was the most beautiful song I'd ever heard and Lana was literally the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen in my life. The video was just perfect too. I was captivated by her.
3: Favorite Lana hairstyle Definitely this style and colour
4: Favorite live performance Without You at the Jazz Cafe in London on the 10th April 2012.
5: Favorite lyric It's nice to love and be loved but I'd rather know what God knows
6: Would you make out with Lana if you had the chance to? Er, don't know.
7: Favorite facial feature Her lips and the cute little ridge at the end of her nose.
8: What's one thing you don't like about Lana? I literally can't think of anything I don't like about her. I'll come back and edit this if I think of anything.
9: Have you ever met Lana? Unfortunately not. Hopefully someday.
10: Who's you favorite artist after Lana? I have quite a few who I like equally. Azealia Banks, Lady Leshurr, Shystie, Pikachunes, Santigold.
11: Would you say you're obsessed or just a really big fan? I think I sort of hover between the two.
12: What if Lana was secretly an evil zombie would you still love her? Why not.

At this point I just don't know whether Lizzy was just a shy girl with crazy fantasies going on in her mind, turning daily boring events into something epic, or a girl with several lives. If all the lanalysis theories are true, she has been living her life at the fullest - wonder how she made through it without too many damages.

I have never understood this being surprised with celebrities being like "normal people" because they dress casual and, like, eat at a cafe or something.

I think Video Games is a good choice. It's definitely the song that's most likely to win, in my opinion.
