That film is legit cruel. -- Match Point

Not someone I'd expect her to work with at all tbh. I was really, really disappointed with Kiss Land so I can't say I'm super excited about this collab. But it's just 2 songs... we'll see. Y.A.L.A. is fabulous! Is the album release still set for November 5?

The Casket Girls - I've Got a Secret

Can you please back that up, especially the Justin Parker philosophy thing and the bit about Ride?
-
No, you can most definitely be credited as the author of the lyrics and the author of the melody separately. I'm guessing he's not included in the official copyright info (for arrangements in Ride) because arrangements are basically a reworking of a previously existent melody (in this case, written by someone else) so it's probably not considered original material.
-
And where can we see the copyright information?
-
Where can we see the detailed songwriting credits for each song? Both Wikipedia & the BTD cd I have here (I don't have the Paradise edition at hand rn) don't make any distinction between music & lyrics.
-
I see your point. I always thought Lana needs co-writers for the melody - as in, she only writes the lyrics (I've said before that I kinda think of her as more of a 'writer' than a musician) - while most of the others rarely write their own lyrics by themselves, and that's how I interpreted Jamie's words as well; of course I can't be sure about that on all counts.
-
Don't most of those have, like, co-writers or something?
-
"What's astonishing is that she's sort of a Jim Morrison." -- LMAO okay Jaime, okay. She looks great on the cover, I'm digging the whole 90s inspired look. I really, really want her to ditch those extensions asap though.

Recent updates and shit. So, Albert has released an EP titled AHJ on Julian's label. I'm not the biggest solo Albert fan but thought the EP was pretty good. Cooker Ship & Carnal Cruise are the highlights imo. St. Justice is the (Vampire Weekend-ish sounding) single though; here's the official video: --- Fab has also been busy. He recently made a public art installation in NYC outside the Rag + Bone store in East Houston Street, which was very well received. --- Screaming and shouting in the Strokes fandom followed Ryan Gentles' (manager) announcement via official newsletter that the band is supposedly working towards a "return to the scene" in 2014. --- And, last but not least, according to LA-based musician Moon King, Julian has been recording (solo? band?) stuff in LA these last few days. --- That's all, folks.

Yeah, I thought so too. She didn't evade the questions and really went into detail / seemed honest in her answers. Liked what she had to say about the cover, and kudos to her for having fought so hard & for so long to have things done her way. The interviewer also seemed pretty psyched by the album, that's always a good thing.

huge Stereogum Q&A with Sky

Why would creating an artistic persona make her a "complete fake" though? I think she gets inspiration from her own life and that of other people, and writes about her fantasies & experiences, real or imagined. I wouldn't feel cheated or think her music is any less worthy if I found out K only existed in her imagination, for instance. Her music (lyrics) comes directly from her, which is more than can be said about the vast majority of pop artists out there; personally, that's authentic enough for me. I can't say I believe the prostitution + alcohol + meth etc. scenario (not to the extent she portrays it anyway), but I think it takes a particular sort of person to create such a dark fantasy & write so many songs about it, and I guess I kinda appreciate that.

He sounds like a special little snowflake tbh.

Could've easily included Wings Of Desire as well + other Lynch films, but tried not to repeat directors... Loved your choice of La Strada btw - although my fave Fellini film is 8 1/2.

We have this - not sure if that's what you meant though...

Life of Pi. I watched it on a plane and was a complete mess in the end. It was all very embarrassing.

Never used any facial serums, what do they do exactly? Don't they make the skin all greasy and/or shiny? La Prairie Caviar is expensive AF! Like, several-hundreds-of-euros expensive! Never tried any of their products but a few people I know absolutely swear by them, so I'd def like to try something one day...
