Many people tend to remember NFR’s rollout by remembering the beginning and the end, which were very nice… but they were separated by almost a year. Fall after VB and MAC was eventful, with the many snippets of NFR, which made us believe the album was indeed coming « top of the year », like she had said to Zane Lowe in interview … but when the new year started, this is when it became hell. After Hope, nothing was happening, nada, niente, except for sparse interviews because of her Gucci campaign and Violets coming at some point. It’s only in late July that she mentioned, for a couple of times, between songs at her festival shows, that Norman was coming in August. By then, we had had at least one or two false release dates that major media’s snowballed with, making us believe they were true. And let’s not forget the endless bickering and locking up of the pre-release thread. We were in the pits. And even after that, when the preorder had happened, there were still many missteps from her team (FIILY and the greatest being postponed but being leaked by streamers that didn’t get the memo).

I think we have more chances of finding out with @hotshot2am, by going through her website for any updates The usual and reliable insiders from passed eras are almost nowhere to be found these days (it really feels like Lana’s team reached out to them to keep quiet 🤐, although I have no proof to back it up)… and the only « is insiders » we got these days really raise a lot of suspicions, so I don’t know

I’ve honestly given up on the album before February I do wish that when we get the lead, the album is done and submitted to vinyl plants for a couple of months (that would knock down the pre-release by a couple of months). Knowing it takes at least four - five months to press vinyls, I can’t imagine a pre-release where the lead single precedes the album by half a year

Exactly. The only official teasing has been the snippet and the Past / Present / Future song at Fenway Park… there’s always this part in every pre-release that everybody forgets when we’ve had the lead single for a couple of days… and then the waiting game resumes. Ocean Blvd was a bit different since we’ve got the cover / attempted first release date and lead single on the same day (plus infos from Kintsugi ) but it’s usually something like « lead single… nothing for many weeks… second single + cover + release date… nothing phase 2… snippet of a new song that won’t be a single… »

I’m personally not expecting much from it. I’d love a collab with Dolly but ever since NFR era, when she posted a selfie with Marina and Jack and we were all convinced a collab was on the way, I take her selfies with celebs with a big grain of salt.

You know an album is just so incredible that when it is released, even though six songs had been singles and the vast majority of the other eight had been heavily teased with snippets (one’s demo even had leaked ), you can’t help yourself but replay it daily from cover to cover for more than a year. its still my all-time favourite from her. A true classic. Happy bday NFR

Ok finally got two seconds to add my two cents to everything that happened today… I find it a bit weird that there are only 6-8 songs done at the moment but she she did announce the title in February… although it’s not impossible she changed the direction of it, but if so, she must have shelved a lot of songs if these 6-8 are the ones selected at the moment if she worked on lasso for four years. as for the election that might change the rollout… that part is not impossible. This election has the eyes of the world on it, the result of a Trump win would be so worrying for a lot of liberal people and what he could do to the UsA in the next four years. Lana said the album was very Americana, and maybe it could be weird for her to release an American album if she feels like the « American way of life » could come to an end in the next years. As for Henry, she always released a song she teased with a snippet to the exception of RBFY (but the caption said so)

This is what scares me with a 2025 release: when will it be out? Labels don’t like to release in January because albums tend to be easily forgotten. February isn’t a big month most of the time. But hey, it’s Lana. Like you said @NikoGo, BTD was released in January and it’s still charting. Most likely scenario: March (again) for the LP. Saddle up, cowpeople, we’ve got a long ride ahead
