This damn « era » is triggering all sorts of passed PTSD Lana anxieties in me Many « insiders » with conflicting infos… So now, I want a snippet or something to see what is real and what’s not. And yet, I don’t want her to begin the teasing game too early ahead of release (i wish I could blame Gemini season for feeling like this )

I live in Canada, where there is so much more gun control than in the US, and every shooting convinces me that guns should not be as accessible as they are, even more so in these times, coming out (hopefully) of a 2-year pandemic that exacerbated anxiety, depression and anger. It’s the perfect mix for these horrifying situations.

Nothing is confirmed at the moment. There are some claims by potential « insiders », but no one as solid or reliable as BoZ or Eclipse. When she starts teasing again or drops something else about it (interview perhaps?), I guess we’ll have a better idea.

Sun: Norman Fucking Rockwell. As a Gemini, I am always torn between two ideals and NFR is the album that embodies that the best into a cohesive format: minimal for some songs and epic for others, mellow yet thoughtful, carefree and yet melancholic. This is my inner world, my inner energy. Moon: Honeymoon. The album that helped me through the worst period of my life and it represents my emotional core at best. Yes, there is sadness on it and melancholy (which represents me), but there is also something very powerful in it, plus there is the willpower to heal and want to move on. I am an introvert so it’s easy to overlook how I feel at times, just like this album. Rising: Blue Banisters. A bit quiet, a bit minimal, but way more fierce than it first appeared. Classic yet with touches of blues. Generally appreciated, lyrics are of the utmost importance: this also describes me socially for the most parts.

I don’t think I could ever go as far as to unstan her (gurl has way too much power over my soul and I can’t quit her), but agreed that we need a couple of tracks to shake things up, with bigger production than piano only (not that there were that many on the last three albums, but put back to back, with the last two being some of her « quietest » pieces ever, I can’t help but feel it’s a bit much )

Not to burst your bubble, but I think a lot of the songs of LDR9 will have piano… mixed with other instruments as well. As for BTIG, it will happen at some point but what were her words in October’s livestream? That it was « massive » and coming along slowly? I take it that it will be out somewhere in 2023… (LDR9 seems to be a « return to form » to a bigger album and sound - a bit like Norman- and the poetry book could be nice after a bigger era)

I still can’t believe that Lana is not a Gemini when we look at the men she is dating I mean, just a quick look at Jack’s Insta (not Antonoff -the -Antichrist to most members of LB, but Donogue) and he clearly stands in the « creative / liberal / has had some rough patches » pool of her BF (if they are indeed dating). And before that, there were Clay and Sean, which seem to be more right wing - conservatives. Never change, Lana, never change.

I follow Jesse on Insta and he was working on his new solo album at the beginning of the year. But he’s been real quiet for some time now. I wonder where he’s at with his project. As time goes by, I’m always a bit worried when a 3 or 4 year-old collab hasn’t seen the light of day. It might have been for his next solo album, but the direction of the album is very likely to change in the meantime, making it harder and harder to include the damn collab in the mix.

I think some of them could turn up on LDR9… She said she was angry on this album… I keep in mind that she describes an album on the songs she is making at the moment… but if she is more « direct » this time around, maybe more bop-ish sound / sexy anthems could be thrown in the mix as well. And I also keep in mind that Lana loves to make albums that are « two parts »: orchestral-wordy-automatic writing songs might coexist with the songs Jack described, maybe? 🤷🏼 by the way, Jack called the scrapped Norman songs bombastic… Lana described them, in radio interviews for Norman, as « 90s girl-group or Shangri-La girl group ». Last time she used Shangri-Las, it was for some LFL tracks and we all know how LB feels about the title track

I really think the W magazine cover and interview was the start of the era. I have a feeling we will get the lead somewhere this summer. Until then… a snippet?

As long as she paces the snippets close to release, I am fine with them. Imagine if she released one per day until the album was out Just a 30-second snippet with the title (it would be even better if she didn’t reveal the tracklist before that).

As I posted in the pre-pre-pre-release thread, Honeymouns, on Insta, said that three other songs were submitted for Euphoria, but only WCE was picked up by the show. I think Drew was part of WCE… there are also small circles that apparently got their hands on some new stuff at the beginning of the year. my guess is that it’s the three other songs meant for Euphoria. So, could the song she mentioned in the interview be one of those three « scrapped Euphoria » songs or something else entirely?
