  1. I liked the description of the songs, loved the appreciation from her piers, the recap of her albums and career. Maybe because Chemtrails feels like it’s another « threshold » in her career, I like the portait they presented of her. It felt genuine without being too « polite » or too « controversial ». But I agree that the photos are some of her weakest ever. Charlie, you are hot, but you are really giving me « I’m an art student » kinda vibe and not in a good way. Dealer taking the place of the WHF snippets on Debris now that we know WHF is TJF.
  2. A HQ leak of NFR hasn’t happened a couple of days prior due to CD shipped early?! I think I listened to the album before release date because of a Hq leak...
  3. You’re absolutely right. And to be honest, it was one of her best interviews ever. I guess we’re just starving and being impatient because we are so close to the finish line. But I gotta say, it’s weird promo, to water down each thing by giving nothing in between. But I guess we should be used to it by now, after NFR.
  4. Yeah but I don’t know what is going on with this era, but doesn’t she always post important shit on the weekend? So maybe tomorrow?
  5. Oh ok! I get it. My bad. well whether we call it lazy or just moving on, it’s true that she rarely goes back to a story once it’s out. And the story on Chemtrails particularly knowing it’s about S**n. Ari and her have very different writing styles and genres and it’s tricky to compare them (to have an album out every six months or so, Ariana must reuse all leftovers from previous projets). Lana truly is in the songwriters category, so I guess that’s how she perceives her promo should go, but she’s too successful to have minimalistic promo.
  6. Lana is lazy?!? You’re kidding, right? You can’t call an artist that puts out an album or poetry book pretty much every year lazy. we don’t know why she cut Dealer and the other track from COCC, probably because they didn’t fit the overall sound of the album. we know she doesn’t like deluxe editions because they water down the storytelling, which is true for her. But with the lack of revenue due to COVID, maybe Chemtrails could be the exception of her recent albums not having a Deluxe edition added later on. Maybe, big maybe.
  7. It was in one of her stories, in the background. There was a dog in that story and she was talking to a guy. It was so faint and we all trying to decipher the lyrics of the « When at last the day is done I grab my keys », with people guessing something about praying on your knees. Good times.
  8. Although it’s a very good trailer, it’s my « least fave » from the bunch. HM had the Freak snippet and previewed the MTWBT video, LFL was intriguing as hell and packed with hidden clues, and NFR was just superb, with its old-time esoteric audio mixed with FIILY/TG video.
  9. I’d be ok with an album trailer featuring one new snippet, like the HM one did with Freak. We haven’t heard very much of the album and one new snippet would hype me up (as if I needed it). We all know she hates Deluxe editions of her albums and I’m really ok with that, but some of you mentioned that due to COVID, she can’t tour and maybe a Deluxe released later on this year could help that « loss of revenue »?
  10. Get Free is this magical ending song. That verse about rainbows I associate LFL with this weird period in someone’s life when they want to leave their old self destructive ways behind, but usually don’t completely succeed. Get Gree embodies that call, that urge to get into a more peaceful place. The way those last words are bursted... and to transition into NFR, where it’s not so much that she changed but accepted who she is and The Greatest is the perfect melancholy song without being « too much »: the guitars, her voice in the verses, that « end of the world » feeling... It’s in my top 5.
  11. ?‍♂️ i always associated WHF as a noon July sun... but what if the Tulsa Jesus Freak thinks he’s white Hot Forever lol? A good diss track... or their love is as white and hot as a July sun?
  12. If the reviewer described the song as ethereal, I don’t expect a lot of screaming but probably a whisper?!?
  13. I hope Jack tweets about his fave from Chemtrails. Because last time, he sure was right about The Greatest.
  14. Joni is not my fave singer, but she is the original blueprint of the singer-songwriter of Laurel Canyon. NFR had many references to that type of singer-songwriter. She is a legend and has been going on for 40+ years. To have Lana’s cover of For Free finishing on notes sounding like Joni is as iconic as Lana covering Summertime after having covered Doin Time that samples it.
  15. Lolll this is so funny, cause it’s true. Until release, those guys probably will be silent about it... but watch snippets surface in a couple of months. Unless they do keep quiet for a couple of years? I mean, some of us /them had Serene Queen for five years, some had the Good Life all those years, same with HM and UV outtakes... Maybw some are better at keeping secrets than others lol.
  16. Yeah, but they said Weyes delivers those notes and they sound like Joni herself. So I’m kinda at peace with that. And it’s not super surprising either, considering she shares the cover with a whole bunch of people...
  17. And also: the album is set in California in the beginning but goes on a « wider landscape » as it goes on.
  18. Yeah I know... And my mind is going in all places knowing she scrapped Dealer and that unknown song could be « Dealer’s little sister » because she did scrap TNBAR and Yosemite for LFL that are sister tracks in her own words...
  19. Mojo posted their review of Chemtrails, giving it a 4 out of 5. Their favorite song is Dance T’il We Die. It’s a bit of a continuity of NFR in the beginning, but having more of an introspective perspective and showdown Lana’s folkier side as it goes on. The last note of the album isn’t delivered by Lana but by Weyes and is very reminiscent of Joni herself. and in a Tweet, the chorus to TJF says WHF and my mind is finally at peace because we will finally hear the song Jack called « the shit »
  20. That’s what I was thinking, unless it’s in the review?!? anyways, I always loved Dance Til We Die as a title. To know that Mojo loved that one the best excites me so much
