I Love your input on this! Kintsugi is a mystery… Did he ever a answer questions about the rollout / next single…? I didn’t scrutinize each of his replies, but although he answered a lot of questions about the songs, I don’t remember a post about the rest… My guess is that he has the album but might not have ties to the music industry / doesn’t know someone who works for a label.

Since the thread is super quiet, I have a legit question: - Has the album really leaked in its entirety because of that theft last summer? hear me out: true, people heard it, but albums always leak and im not sure that our new insiders all put their hands on the songs from the theft (maybe from the « usual way » her albums leaked before; COCC era, there were rumours a group of « 5 lucky gays » got their hands on songs as they were sent to mastering). Yes, there was the Ocean Blvd demo that was sold, same with fingertips (apparently, there is a legit snippet of the song that I didn’t hear when we learned it was part of the album). But I’m surprised we don’t have much else, TBH. what do you guys think? Do you think that the album is circulating as much as her team suggested it did?

Exactly! To me, with Norman, we began to see lyrics where she revealed a bit more. Not that she was « dishonest » before, not at all. All of her albums always have her beautiful songwriting, but I feel like some barriers «fell » with Norman, where she let us in a bit more and more «directly » into her inner world : - Give me Hallmark, one dream, one life, one lover - don’t ask if I’m happy, you know that I’m not but at least I can say I’m not sad - if you hold me without hurting me, you’ll the first who ever did. - I fucked up, I know that but Jesus, can a girl just do the best she can? - why wait for the best when I could have you? / if he’s a serial killer then what’s the worst that could happen to a girl who’s already hurt? COCC has some of those moments too, BB also. And the Tunnel title track has some very honest lyrics as well.

And to think that in the LFL pre-release era, HM was called a snooze fest…

I could see the first two but The Grants, although it is said to be beautiful, seems to be a bit too « niche / precise in topic » and not very GP? Then again, we can’t say that Lana’s choice of singles has always been pristine

I’m starting to think that the shit ton vinyls wouldn’t ready for March 10… As for the box set, from what we saw, it’s a standard black vinyl, so nothing new there for pressing, they just have to press a couple thousand more. If they plan on releasing it with the album though, they need to have preorders soon.

I’ve accepted the sad truth that March 24 is the new date i hope her team is smart about the new boxset: the hype is fucking real with this one and it needs to have a preorder very soon and be released March 24!!

Everything you said I agree 💯 What I also find weird, with the release date potentially changing, is that her last two releases have been « messes » because of the same reason (March 5 to the 19 for COCC , and for BB, October 8 was rumoured for streaming with an Oct 22 release for physical copies), and copies were sent way too early both cases, causing leaks way too much ahead of time (we got COCC at least 10 days before release and I got my BB CD a week before release). Plus it toyed with her numbers for week 1 (BB probably would have been number 2 or 3 if physicals had been sent on week 1 and not before). I don’t see how things will be different this time around, TBH.

Maybe, and I sure hope so. The sooner we get that album, the better But she announced this on a Friday night (probably the minute she learned about it) and not much ever happens on the weekend regarding music and updates on streaming platforms / websites. Monday morning, if the date has changed, it should be updated, with the tracklist as well. I prefer to tell myself the album has been delayed for two weeks and be glad if the release is still planned for the March 10 date, than to tell myself it’s coming on the 10th and be furious it’s been delayed (« May 26 LFL release because it was confirmed by many reliable sources » tea, or « March 29 NFR release date because of Billboard and she said top of the year » )

Yeah, there’s always that down that comes a few days after we have the album… To me, though, once that « grief » of pre-release jitters has passed, there is now a new phase that I love: one where I learn to « live » with this album, where I find new meanings to lyrics or hear new elements that wow me, or simply connect with songs I didn’t used to. Maybe because I have been a rabid fan since the HM era, it’s also nice to have a couple of weeks without any feeling of being at the edge of our seats because something about the album could be coming. Pre-releases and pre-pre-releases sure are exciting and addictive, but they’re also a bit draining (and not good at all for my bad case of FOMO ). Even if an album is only a couple of months/ weeks old, once she starts posting snippets or once insiders begin to spill on something coming, I know it’s over for me and I’ll be riled in that wild roller coasters of a new era (fake dates and album titles that she talks about on release day don’t count anymore since they change all the time)

Ever since Jack said A&W was his favorite and that BoZ said the song was wild, I can’t wait to hear it!!! I really hope it’s the next single, especially if the album is indeed delayed for another two weeks. A long track sure would feed us. As we all know, NFR’s pre-release was insufferable but thank God for MAC, VB and Hope being released : they were so excellent that it did help with the neverending wait for the album.

So, now that we have the tracklist and the song lengths, here are the songs that I think could be the next single. Question is: how many are expected before the album and would a delay mean a third single could be a possibility (I always thought there’d be two this time around)? - Grandfather please stand… : it’s a 4 min song, which is perfect in length. It’s another long-ass acronym like Tunnel was (good for « continuity » of the era, if that is a thing) and references water, another part of the imagery of the era. the other three could be singles IMO regardless of their length: - Fingertips: it seems like a very special song to her and she loves to release the « heart » of an album (although I think she already did, with the title track) - AW or A&W (or whatever title): longest song, but it is Jack’s favourite and everytime he has worked with Lana, his fave has been a single (the greatest, Chemtrails) - Candy Necklace : it’s a collab and would make sense to release one to have a « taste » of those. Plus Jon Batiste is probably the artist out of all of her collabs that has the most « star-power ». But that song was the first to receive the snippet treatment and we all know that it almost never equals to a single release

Yeah, I noticed it too. But she announced the change Friday night. Usually, not much is happening in the weekend regarding music (no wonder leakers don’t post in the week, it takes longer to have the song removed when posted on a Saturday or Friday night ) I guess she was just informed of the situation and wanted to tell us firsthand, giving us a little bonus (the boxset art and merch coming). I’m thinking that the tracklist might have been revealed by « accident », when she posted the new vinyl art. i expect the tracklist and new date to be updated on Monday.

I hope it’s not the case!!! i hope there are a couple of prints / lithographs from the photoshoot in the Boxset

Probably unpopular, but I prefer AW as a title (if she really wants to censor it) rather than A&W, if there is no reference to root beer or the burgers in the song.

Not me refreshing her LDR store every two minutes seriously, though, I’ve been having some issues entering her store for two days now…. March 10 is still the release date there. But it probably will be updated Monday. I’m glad she decided to tell us before the store did. Maybe the box set will come next week for preorder with a new single? American Whore anyone?!? She revealed the tracklist. the album is postponed Til March 24. and there is a box set coming with her showing her boob on the cover. Also new merch will be available at some point (a LDR lighter is the highlight)

You’re totally right! Hell, even the tunnel metaphor, I wasn’t that wowed by it before hearing the song and now, I think it’s brilliant. I love VB to death: watch Taco Truck become my new fave anyways, in Chemtrails era, the title I loved the most was Dance Til We Die and it’s now one of the songs I like the least on the album… and yet, still, it’s part of the fun, to analyze song titles or write our impressions about them without having heard them. Im glad though that insiders had said earlier that the titles were very random: it wasn’t a big surprise when some were confirmed or revealed.
