I get that VB is not for everyone. For me, it was a dream come true: I love trippy slowburners of a song, and this ticked all the boxes. Cruel World was the closest she had dwelled into that genre before VB, but those alt guitars Knocked it out of the park for me. Yes, the lyrics are bland on their own, but it’s a song about getting high: pretty normal they’re not Shakespearean. But again, I know that not everybody will love those vibes. but to read some Video Games slander is a bit surprising to say the least it’s not even my fave from her, I can spend many weeks without listening to it, but I still love it anyways and when the feeling is right, VG hits hard. anyways, back to topics: I do hope that some of the trippy guitars from VB and the end of MAC will be on this album. anyone else feels like the « Honeymoon from hell » caption from Jack’s IG story was about them recording American Whore?

What if the Lana sample BoZ was talking about is at the end of the title track? I relistened to that song today and the ending reminds me A LOT of Dance Til We Die (you know, the interesting part , the bridge)

I haven’t read the interview but I doubt it. Doubt Courtney even thinks it. but, to be fair, when UV was out, with its unapologetic lyrics, with her weird interviews (whether she was misquoted or not), with its tragic undertone, I was sure that by the time she was 40, we’d find that Lana had ODed or something on her bathroom floor Glad I was mistaken though and all her other albums after that reassured me.

I still can’t believe we’ll get a new album in two months. after her COCC interview with Annie Mac, after QFTC, I was sure she needed a break after COCC (and she wouldn’t have been wrong - she seemed so drained, so exhausted in that interview, so misunderstood). But she doubled down with BB and DYKTTATUOB. We are blessed with this woman.

To me, they were part of a new album to come. When she commented on the leak, she did say that there were songs that were meant for the next record. I don’t know if, back then, she needed to have a couple of songs under her belt that could be part of a new album, like she did with UV, HM and so on.

When it comes to Lana, it’s always going to be difficult to determine which songs were meant for which album because she records all the time. The day HM was out, she took a break in the studio to give an interview. But that doesn’t mean that that song was meant for LFL. And I don’t even think Lana herself could provide answers to what songs were part of which project, because she records songs until she has a clear idea of what she wants the album to be… until it changes again. For example, is Serene Queen part of LFL or an early song prior to it? another point to consider: if Lana is dating a musician while recording, the sound and songs of the album can be heavily influenced… and even more so if they breakup mid creation (Barrie, GEazy…). the untouchable 5 were meant for Paradise’s follow up, until the leak, that we know because she commented on it. But who knows if they would have been on it after she had met Dan (and without the leak)

COCC is her most cohesive album to date… and yet, in the Interview mag, you feel like she wanted the album to have more of a « second part », one where things would shake up a bit (with Dealer)… and it didn’t happen. NfR is diverse enough and more enjoyable as a whole IMO.

It’s a bit of a miracle that this website is still running. And it’s all thanks to Elle and the mods. When Love leaked, Lana’s team was sure it was Eclipse’s work and that LB was involved (when it wasn’t the case).and it’s one of the situations that happened before. A WP wouldn’t be enough when it is a « stick to the rule or the site is shutdown permanently » kinda situation.

I feel like the next single will sample an older song… And unless it’s been explained before, Eclipse was referencing, prior to the title track being released, that one of his first posts here was the lyrics to HBTB… and it’s the last post on her official account : a reference to HBTB. edit: the long-ass acronym song has a Maritime reference and hints at some things she wants to say to critics. And HBTB is well very much maritime (duh) and is, in parts, about paparazzi…

I used to love Yes to Heaven, the first version we got. I thought it was a very atmospheric song to vibe to, no matter how weak the lyrics were. But the way some of y’all hyped it so much with hopes of seeing it on an official future release… I’m team Fine China (seriously though, I can’t believe this song never was officially released : it has got to be some of her best lyrics in all of her unreleased collection )

I love Violets for Roses but am in shock this song is trending on TikTok… same goes for The Other Woman…

I also thought it could be the case. He sure loves a lot of music, but does he tag people that often in his stories? Like you said, could be that the oceanic theme of this song reminded him of the album…

I dont get why so many of you believe we won’t get anything else until release… A second single is almost certainty, there are hints at an Interview mag cover… Plus the tracklist… Music industry pauses everything for the holidays, and yet people her want her to post something / tease something or have the insiders spill

Interview magazine was founded by Andy Warhol. i know Lana is not Taylor, but that pic doesn’t make any sense as a Christmas wish picture. I could be wrong, but it’s similar to the Neil pic she posted, hinting at what’s next.

BoZ loves American Whore and despised the Beachers collab, so it’s fake. To all of you who still complain everyday about not having the damn tracklist, her latest post, hinting at an Interview magazine cover, makes me think it’s going to be like in the COCC era, where we learned a couple of song titles through that interview.

Not so sure about that: not only did she address it in her interview with Elton John for Rolling stone, but she also put the video on her official yt channel edit: sorry, off topic AF :/

I downloaded my Apple Replay 22 playlist; the title track went from 40th most listened song to 13th of the whole damn year in only 10 days

Apart from the length of A&W (7+min), fingertips (5:58)and Candy Necklace (5:14), that’s about it and that there are songs over 6 min

I second this 💯. We’ve been spoiled since the announcement (to the announcement ). It usually gets real quiet two days after the lead is released but this time, BoZ talked a lot about some tracks, their length… Plus we’re just about to enter holiday season, when everything is quiet AF. I still can’t believe we got the gorgeous title track and the preorder before the end of 2022. i really think and hope a second single is on its way somewhere before February but at the moment, we’ve got to count our blessings.
