Lana Del Rey - Ruby Tuesday

years ago when was the last time you ate ice cream?

i believe she's talking about arthur lynn here, i believe he once said diet mountain dew was his favorite drink, and he also ran a diet mountain dew fanpage on myspace, and in some screenshots, you can see she's friends with it on myspace (i can't find any, but i know for sure she was friends with it) perhaps diet mountain dew goes as far back as 2007? i've hypothesized they were together around the summer of 2007, however, i believe they also were together, or at least friends, in 2008, there's photos of them together in 2008, they have to be from 2008, since her hair's longer and her hair was quite short in 2007, so... i suppose it's still possible diet mountain dew goes back to 2008, diet mt. dew baby is from 2008, after all, and it would match up with what she said about having the chorus, and not quite the verses, since the verses in diet mt. dew baby are a lot shorter and the song itself was still just a concept

you'll always have my vote

weirdly enough, i couldn't think of anybody to nominate for worst profile picture i probably would've voted for may because he always had some strange profile pictures, but i didn't feel like voting for somebody banned would make any sense (and their last/current profile picture isn't bad)

Dark Angel replied to annedauphine's topic in Post-Release Threads
i have no idea, i don't even know if i was a fan yet in september of 2015, if i was, i was a new fan and not well-versed with the fandom lol, if you can't find it after an hour of searching for it, it's likely deleted -
Honeymoon - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll

i'm guessing this gif is from it? i find it so crazy how people hated honeymoon when it first came out now it's considered one of her best, at least it is here, i'm glad we've come around because it's a fantastic album and honestly lana at her best -
love that for you reese's peanut butter cups

from what i know, valley of the dolls is related to the album she did with the last shadow puppets, and it was actually sent to jack antonoff, interestingly

not necessarily a project, but lizzy and steven mertens made some fantastic stuff together, and it would be cool if they worked together more and there was a more solidified mertens' AKA, we don't have steven mertens versions of oh say can you see, for k, pt. 2, raise me up (mississippi south), pawn shop blues, or yayo, although there's definitely a chance more stuff produced by steven mertens exists and are out there i definitely agree with tropico, some of her work from that period of time is her best although i'm certainly not a lust for life hater, and the fandom in general has warmed up to it, i feel like the original lust for life concept that was more atmospheric would've been a better follow-up to honeymoon, lust for life demo 1, yosemite, poetry in motion, best american record... also, i'm really glad her management didn't allow her to add any extra tracks on AKA before it was released because it's perfect the way it is however, i prefer the current tracklisting over the original one that began with for k, pt. 2 and ended with mermaid motel, the official tracklisting is just so perfect, it's hard to imagine it used to be so different

i think they're a bit too ambiguous to say exactly what they mean, but i don't really get a transphobic vibe from them, it doesn't seem like they're necessarily judging her regardless, we can't expect a song from the 1970s to be as politically progressive as a song from today usually will be, i don't think it's wrong to listen to songs that might have an outdated message/viewpoint, but it's best we're aware of it and recognize that it might not be kind or correct
