  1. i want all of my favorite lizzy grant songs to play because i don't want my "funeral" to be sad
  2. so, do we want lana to make country music, or do we not want lana to make country music?
  3. she can absolutely suit folk/folky music, songs like pawn shop blues, oh say can you see, get drunk, jimmy gnecco, fordham road, your band is all the rage, super movie, yosemite, and literally the entirety of sirens suit her sound and feel very well
  4. american beauty... i did not like that movie
  5. i've been hesitant to come in here because i just knew it'd be full of people bashing everything about her recent output, nothing's new, nothing's changed
  6. personally, i don't really care for it, it feels... disjointed, also, i hate how muffled lana's vocals are here, especially in comparison to the instrumental and jon's vocals, it may have worked better on heroin or get free, but here, it stands out too much, but not in a good way i'm happy for everybody who enjoys it though!
  7. may jailer-2007-AKA was the best run in her discography/musical career
  8. honestly, if somebody's trying to be deliberately campy, it won't be camp, somebody making something really weird, silly, and ballsy, but intending it to be very serious and artful, is a very important aspect of camp, camp has soul, camp is earnest, honestly the camp met gala theme falls flat for that reason, you can't just replicate camp or try to be camp, it just isn't camp, you can't be aware of your own gaudiness or weirdness, it just doesn't work that way
  9. i feel like people severely over-use that word and now it doesn't really mean anything anymore like, 85% of the time it isn't campy, it's just bad or cringy
  10. now we've gotta figure out rob's lanaboards account
  11. it's 2023, why can't we get official, HQ livestreams?
  12. i keep saying that the acoustic guitar in the first half of a&w is very reminiscent of kurt cobain's demos... that would be a really cool sound for her, and would also be reminiscent of some of her more acoustic/folky tracks from 2007 such as for k, pt. 2 and get drunk
  13. lana's made a name and a legend out of herself by not releasing soulless, garbage, corporate pop music, i find it funny that people want to dumb herself down just to avoid her making piano ballads (which she really doesn't do that often, let's be real) or country music (which isn't the same as the mainstream version which is hardly country) or whatever it may be, some of you just aren't really into her recent input and need to admit that to yourselves, also, born to die was a lot more than just basic pop, was it more upbeat and conventional? yes, but it heavily incorporated baroque elements into nearly every track, some country influence with the deep, southern guitars in blue jeans and summertime sadness, and, oh no! video games, a... a... piano ballad! the horror! what will we ever do!
  14. lana does whatever she wants and we love her for it i'm sure everyone who's actually attending are just happy to be there regardless of what she chooses to sing lol
  15. HER HAIR that mirror selfie is literal perfection, she looks so glamorous
  16. lust for life (demo) because that song has a spacey, atmospheric, introspective feel situation: you're laying on the beach by the vibrant, crystal-clear blue waters, the sky is clear and blue, the air is inviting and warm, and you're surrounded by palm trees, people playing in the water and building sandcastles, and an ice cream stand, what lana song are you listening to as you sunbathe?
  17. A NEW ACRONYM LDR10 PRE-RELEASE HAS NOW OFFICALLY BEGAN FOR REAL
  18. i know there's some sub-genres of metal that are very intense, but i think i can get into something that's a bit more relaxed and drone-y, i'll definitely have to check that band out soon!
  19. i once had a video recommended to me on youtube of a 24-minute(?) demo from that band, i didn't watch it or listen to any of their work, but i felt very intrigued by that video, perhaps i'll check them out! i'm not too well-versed on metal yet, but maybe i'll like it, that particular album you mentioned sounds like it could be very intense thematically considering the circumstances how would you describe doom metal?
