Superstar is great. Yeah, the lyrics aren’t as complex as her previous work, but I don’t mind it. I love both the production of HH and this one. I can tell it’s going to turn off a lot of people, but it’s been 4 years and I get with the headspace she’s in, she wants to go in a more light-hearted direction. Anyway, I’m here for it.

This is why I deleted my second Instagram account after a second of having it (I think that’s when the stuff with Ben happened), because I kept on seeing more and more fan accounts I follow get backlash for not even venting, but just simply asking, “where’s Lana? we thought the album was done.” It really isn’t too much to ask and it’s common sense for people to be a bit upset that the artist they’re a fan of is all of a sudden MIA when at the very least- they’re usually consistent in showing how enthusiastic they are for the release. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say this is the worst era in terms of promotion. At this point idc if Lana announces something at the end of this month. The bs with her manager and miscommunication through vague updates killed the hype for me.

I remember really early on in 2011/12 Lana herself said she had bad taste in fashion and that 'all her friends and her sister' laughed so much that she was getting called a fashion icon. I'm sure it was a magazine article? I think she's super visual and when she has a 'phase' and a good team it gets directed and channeled into her style. Her style back then matched the sound of BTD and Paradise, which was super polished. And at the moment her music isn't polished like that anymore. Like the Lizzy Grant era stuff matched her sound then and some of that is gorgeous and some of it is fucking bizarre lol.

I refuse to accept the idea that you have to look frumpy to sing alternative music or to be taken seriously as a female artist.

FROOT gave us Blue and Froot so we stan!

I like to criticize Froot a lot bc it defo has flaws but like overall it’s a rly good album and Froot (the song) is probably in my top 3 Marina songs. It’s just that bitch. She did that

I'll be an Electra Heart stan till the day I die, but Froot gave us some absolute classics – my favourites would have to be Happy, I'm A Ruin, and Immortal. It's so hard to believe it's been four years already! 

It's been 4 years since Marina's best record to the year, her masterpiece, her best creation, her statement 'FROOT' was released!

Four years of FROOT today. I remember I was going into town the day it leaked, and I was listening to the singles thinking, "You know, I don't need this to leak, I can wait until April." And then on the ride back home a few hours later I was listening to the full album leak lmao. What a messy release, but it seems somehow fitting. Definitely my favorite Marina album.

GBA - simply by the subject matter alone - is an anthem and a turning point in Lana's career. Remember when Lana was quoted saying some shit like "I'm not a feminist, I don't understand why we need feminism"? Yeah GBA overturned ALL of that

Oh the instagram fans are so toxic tbh I posted my little speech on Ben's instagram post about how I was disappointed in Lana for telling us on live that the album was finished, that she did two interviews back in September for the singles and album to be released soon, that she teased all these tracks and then just suddenly jumped off the face of the earth

Like oh, okay that's the logic now? OH I wasn't given the memo okay, so if I worked at an airport I'm just going to argue that I need to work on my schedule even though when I signed up to be a TSA agent I promised I'd work on time. Or I'll become a barista and say "stop stressing me out I'll make your coffee when I feel like I'm ready" like jeez these fans don't realize it's her job and main source of income, the fact that SHE said she was releasing it soon, we didn't even pressure her, she said it herself, and the fact that fans have put millions of dollars into her buying her albums, tickets, merch, plane tickets to see her, shit from her pop up shop, going out to see her at her premiere venues, etc. She doesn't OWE us anything, but if she's a decent human being she'll show the slightest amount of respect for her fans and update us on the album that were about to spend millions on so she can keep enjoying her fucking matcha teas and working with producers she likes

I'm glad that so many of you share the same opinion as me... I posted how disappointed I was in this era due to how unprofessional it is and that i've lost every single drop of my excitement and a lot of people literally snapped at me saying its her art and she doesn't owe us anything... which I can see their point but sweetie... it is your job, and not only that but its the worst to be a fan anticipating something only bc the artist has done or said something that would promote the thought of an album release being soon (which Lana has done an extraordinary job of) yet... no follow through. What was the point of saying the album is done back in October and then NEVER saying anything else... and now it's MARCH.

At this point I'm not even listening to anything we have and I honestly forgot that NFR was even an album oop

I don't even wanna come on here anymore, my excitement has completely deteriorated.
