DMs to who? Are these DMs other people have posted screenshots of? (In which case why not repost/retweet them so we can judge their authenticity?) Or DMs to you/@@lanaboards? No offense, but everything's just a rumor until there's receipts.

i'd outline everything wrong with your response but i doubt it'd make a difference to your opinion so i'll try and keep it short and sweet. If someone wants to get famous to earn money that's none of your business and it doesn't make them "money hungry whores." If it was a guy doing the same thing they'd be considered ambitious and business driven. Furthermore, I do not understand this misconception that people have where they think celebrities owe them anything. You are not entitled to celebs treating you like buddies because you bought their album or because you stan for them. hard truth, i know.

edit: i don't want us to clog up the thread too much so if you wish to reply please PM me rather than respond via the thread.

this chart looks like it was made by someone who waz born in tha rong generation xD or has some kind of internalised misogyny problem. just because you do not like someone it does not make them a whore. don't drag some women to support other women, because honestly that's a little bit fucked up.

Well, she could release a 12 track album (+ bonus tracks, though I hate that) and an EP next year... that wouldn't be bad

She's not perceived as an non-commercial artist (like Fiona Apple for example) and she did a lot of things towards being perceived more mainstream (her magazine covers, The Great Gatsby). I have a feeling that she doesn't have the option to be an (more mainstream) indie artist because she's really hated by the taste-makers who didn't take her art seriously and by many so called quality artists also. She sad that she has no friends and I think she's referring to people in the music business who just didn't like her.She craves recognition and it's justified in my opinion but she cannot obtained it without success. It's not a nice thing to say but nonetheless is true that you are liked more when you are successful.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who doesn't give a shit about how Lana promotes UV or how WC does on the charts... As long as we get new music, I'm more than happy.

Those power bottom twink flower child messes were probably too busy with their tongue in a bear daddies ear rather than focusing on the show itself

I want them to stop with the screamimg in total. It's nearly impossible to find decent videos of her shows because they just don't stop crying and screaming hysterically while she sings.  I would love some new live versions. It seems she performs her songs different this tour (no violins with her and her singing seems to be different from the Paradise Tour ) and I'd love to explore this, but with all that girls....argh.

Honestly, I prefer the subtle approach she's going for with UV; the hype gets built on the suspense and enigma and us Geminis live for that shit.

I think Lana's just confident in UV in a way where she doesn't need to go for the whole gusto promoting it. Keeping it simple, but to the point.

Look at Liz Phair, Emilie Autumn, or just about any artist that, compared to the huge popstars of today, only have a quarter of the fanbase; they don't give a fuck about promotion or anything like that because none of it is a guarantee. Furthermore, extreme promotion and large tours/venues take a lot of compromise, and a lot of time. When you're investing your time into your craft and creative outlets, and trying to keep a certain atmosphere for when you showcase that craft, you really don't want to compromise just because it means more tickets or more sales.

Because who really gives a fuck about the latter besides music labels and reviewers dying to find any reason to write "FLOP" in their next article? This is why a lot of artists go independent, because they have better ways to get their music out and better ways to measure the worth of their projects than ratings, the amount of shows, and how many airports and stages they've seen.

When the Phoenix fans told Lana how well West Coast was received here in the US and she started crying, I think that was a pretty clear indicator that her only focus, really, is just doing what she loves; whether she has a million fans listening to her work or only fifty or sixty people, she'd be doing the same shit she is now. It's a surprise when your work unexpectedly receives a lot of positive reception, but that's all it is, just a nice surprise. Aside from that, it doesn't matter when you know you are making something that you are proud of. You promote it how you want, and if it gets a lot of exposure, cool, fucking awesome; if it doesn't, shit, don't give such a fuck and treat yourself to some awesome sushi or wine or what-fucking-ever little pleasure because you still worked hard enough to deserve it.

Did any of that make sense? Between thinking about checking my laundry, two cats fighting for a spot on my lap, and one of them burying their wet nose into my chest while I'm trying to type this, I am a bit scattered.

She's an hetero goddess as well I think ;-)
But I don't look at her as a sexual object, more as an idol
I don't try to find some naked pictures of her for example ahah

Lana is a gay goddess, just like many other female artists who flaunt their femininity in such a powerful way. The thing I like about Lana, and what speaks to my gay brain chemistry, is her essence. Her vocal, visual, and the way she portrays her musical image is glamorous, sublime, and there is a maliciousness, a darkness that I find appealing.

Aggressive =/= Abusive so can we please stop the whole taking-shit-out-of-context?

Jesus fucking Christ, whatever it takes to get to nag, it seems. Poor girl could never catch a break with self-disclosure without her own fans turning it into a psychoanalysis under the false pretense that she condones domestic abuse.

I don't think it will be Beautiful Player or this The Crystals song. Lana uses the same lyrics in different songs a lot and I highly doubt she would do a cover of a song and say it was her lyric.

I don't even care what's on it I just want the record now
