  1. Yah, the way she sings "muh-AAAAAAAAAAALIBU" is good. Fucking stupid other re-writes though. The bathing suit line?
  2. From standards: Bel Air > Yayo > The Other Woman > HIADT > Get Free > DLMBM > TIWMUG
  3. IS THAT BATHING SUIT LINE REAL? I JUJUST ?
  4. . . . are those real lyrics for BAR? Please. No. Oh my god. I don't want to sing along to that. Fuck.
  5. I did some searching and could not find the album that has leaked. If I did of course, I would tell people to take it doen.
  6. Fuck It is cute. The best part is probably the ending synth. And yes, like others have said - the diction is terrible. Weird. She sounds so precise on some snippets. I only heard The Greatest once before it was pulled. It also seemed okay. At this point I'm just hanging out for Love Song, Cinnamon Girl and TNBAR.
  7. Just wait for 10 years and we'll have Lana do a tour where she performs with symphonies around the world. Dare to dream.
  8. Why are we passing judgment on the lyrics of a six minute song when we've only heard a 30 second sample.
  9. I would be so here for an audio book. The potential for that is outstanding.
  10. I thought that too, but the song structure (as we know it goes) First verse: John met me down at the boulevard . . . then Second verse: Jim met me down at the training yard . . . The album sample we have starts at the end of the first verse, where we hear the beat is already there, and then goes into the second. So I don't think so. Plus, we haven't heard the whole thing yet but it sounds like HIAB and Hope are the only 'piano' ballads now . . ?
  11. As long as MGKelly isn't on Lana's album, I don't mind if it's released. I'm all about tracks that I will listen to once and then totally forget about (see: You Must Love Me).
  12. YES they are so unprofessional - how can anyone say otherwise when people are paying for the song? I mean it was obviously made in one take which gives it a more authentic feel (similar to Emilie Haynie's style) but it's sorta awkward and random too.
  13. Throat like an angel with a voice that was made of gold - that's my baby VS Anyone can start again - not through love, but through revenge.
  14. The Apple event was LIVE - you shouldn't expect HTD to sound like that on the album just like you shouldn't expect an acoustic VB on the album. I wouldn't be surprised if it's starts with just piano and the bop comes in between verses, since the sample we've heard so far has that little drop of the beat. EDIT: No actually . . . that doesn't make any sense. Since we just heard the first verse. Hnnnghnnn
  15. I would like to hope so too but the snippet sounds the same. Plus I remember her and/or Jack saying that they were so proud of how Hope sounded since it was recorded in one take at night or something. That plus her saying how important the track is to her means I don't think it'll be touched. UNLESS European audiences get to a total work over. THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!

    Song vs. Song

Serial Killer vs. Fucked My Way Up to the Top
  17. Let me tell you about a lil song titled 'The Next Best American Record' THE AUDACITY.
  18. Maybe she will announce a pre-order of the book when the merch website goes back up?
  19. Why are you complaining about a spontaneous, well intended, pretty song from one of your favourite artists? It's very self-righteous of you to assume she is unaware of American history, or that she has no interest. No song is going to solve world peace, but artistic statements like this can connect with and speak to people who spiritually share the same idea and will take comfort that others are speaking out. I guess next time Lana is inspired by something you would rather a tweet and a manifesto, rather than release a song.
  20. Everyone must have already said this but Looking for America has the reflection and nuance that Coachella can only dream of. Maybe it's because the arrangement is so acoustic and chill, but it makes Coachella even more mawkish and clumsy.
  21. I'm pretty blasé towards it, but it's cute and a pleasant addition we weren't expecting. Sort of like how we all heard You Must Love Me - nice, unexpected and fine, but not sure I'll listen to it non stop. It's most not dramatic enough in her vocal range. It totally fits L4L in the witch vibes, and how coquettish her vocals are.
  22. Too true. She will probably retrospectively describe this album as jazz influence.
