As a feminist (future blogger), I actually would love her to. Singing about those topics doesn't have to be unfeminist. Just look at Emilie Autumn's Opheliac record - it perfectly fits your description and it's really feminist at the same time. It's wrong to assume that being feminist is all about pretending to be a STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMEN (how tempted I was to write Beyonce) WHO DON'T NEED NO MEN AND DOESN'T TAKE ANY BULLSHIT. I think that Lorde needs to realize that yet. Of course I don't think that Lana's music is the pillar of feminist expression, or that it's even meant to be feminist in the first place, but...yeah. (Not saying that to you, it's just my general thought)

Oh, I see. I guess I can agree with that. I'm not a fan of the entire Paradise era... all the songs are lifeless and boring, I wish I could see what you people see in Lizzy's look. And I'm not being snarky or ironic - this is me being honest. To me, she looked kinda cute, but also awkward and average Like one of thousands vocally talented girls who desperately want to make it, but never will.

I feel awful saying that, but she truly didn't look special as Lizzy Grant. I bet that most people wouldn't notice a girl like that passing them by. Hipster Runoff's ( this site is shit, btw) description of Lizzy was spot on: "Meet Lizzy Grant. She had blonde hair, didn't look very 'alt sexy'. Sorta like a girl from my high school who was a part-time hostess at Chili's". I'm glad that she has found her style, because she looks simply fabulous since the beginning of her LDR days. Why do you think that Young and Beautiful is so bad? To me it's average, but not really awful per se. It's just Lana doing usual Lana things. I agree about Cola and Yayo - except the tidbit about Paradise version. To me, one of her worst songs (if not the worst) is Summer of Sam - Yayo is sorta boring.

Sorry! Blue Velvet is a pretty song, but this one has such a heavy, dark mood.. Like slowly walking down, down into hell. At least that's what I think of when I listen to the song.

I love this! Much better than the Blue Velvet cover. It really does sound like a soundtrack to a twisted, but beautiful nightmare... I feel that I'm gonna revisit it quite often whenever a mood strikes me.

Of course I do! I feel sorry for all the smut about celebrities, lol. Some don't seem to mind it at all - Official Placebo forum has an entire board dedicated to posting smutslash fanfiction about band members. I would looove to read Lana's biography!

The saddest thing is when people think that BDSM is exactly shown in the book... where the Grey guy doesn't respect Ana's boundaries at all. It's disgusting. I feel sorry for the BDSM community that this piece of literary shit is representing them in the world... It would be amazing if one of those people who have extensive knowledge of Lana wrote a story about her. IDK, maybe this fandom's not into writing fanfiction. (Oh, if only you would see the ammount of Placebo slash fanfiction.... not that I read) I love reading ficks from time to time, but due to time constraint prefer to work on my original novel... if only I had more time...

I love checking out highly-rated FF on fanfiction.net. I mostly read short stories, but it's amazing what talented people can do with somebody else's story. i think that Lana's life has an extremely high potential for a fanfiction - it's such a shame that nobody tried writing it yet... Can't believe that I tried to read 50 Shades and read almost quarter of it. I've got a classmate for whom the 50 Shades series were literally the first novels she read. Now she only reads books with "This is just like 50 Shades" printed on cover.

When I was young, I used to really like her first record with BEP - Where's the Love, Let's get it started and other songs were my favourits. I grew out of them by the time the second record went out, so I missed Fergie's solo effort. it was fun back in the day, and she has perfect voice for this sort of music.

i actually wouldn't mind a good Lana fanfiction, especially one about her past, sending off to boarding school, relationship with K, trailer park days, Jimmy Gnecco... et cetera, et cetera... It would be amazing! Someone write this, pretty please! I know that most people read ff for erotica, but I'm such a sucker for a good story... and if there's some good, non-gratuitious nsfw stuff in it, I treat it as a nice bonus.

Thanks for your input, I'm completelly clueless when it comes to business side of things. I was worried cause a lot of leaked tracks for Black Beauty sounded really Paradise-like... I mean, I don't hate it, but it's kind of a borefest in comparison to BTD. I hope that Ultraviolence's gonna be completely different and amazing

Hobbit: Unexpected Journey. It was fun. Would be better if it had more dialogue and less action. Also, it needs to be SHORTER, not LONGER (screw you, Director's cut!).
