Did we ever get an official HQ file of Gone (crash tour version)? Id really like to add that to my collection. I have a fanmade one that i love listening to but its missing some layers.
I need to know your demographics and salary bracket so I know which political party to vote for so that you're punished in every facet of your life for this tired and bland poppers brained opinion.
Remember the CRASH tour? It was SO GOOD. And relatively affordable. And I was actually able secure firsthand tickets. And the setlist popped off. etc.
What a time!
Because a lot of people just don't want to admit that it's not Charli XCX they like, it's the genre that they're in love with and she just happened to operate in it. HIFN and Pop2 and Vroom Vroom EP existed in that realm of glitch trap hyperpop experimental electronica and THAT'S what they like, and by extension, want to pigeonhole Charli into. It's why Crash, Sucker, TR, and a lot of unreleased/leaks, get utterly panned, binned, and passed over by fans despite being some really solid material.
Okay so SWEAT Chicago was fucking LIT and I'm going to gush and y'all gonna deal.
Shygirl starting off RIGHT and early with Thicc sent me to the moon because a) it's one of my fave songs by her and b) I had tickets to see her but I had to miss, so her opening for the show was the mini-concert I needed. My friends who were there and who had never heard of her were like "this bitch was GREAT wtf?? she got the crowd energized and set the stage perfectly." I was SO happy with her set/song choices. I do wish she'd have come down the stage/ramp and into the pit area more though, or that production would have let her (I could see them telling her not to/keeping the area cleared for Troye/Charli).
I have to take back a lot of my nonchalant disregard for Troye - I found his performance really entertaining and his energy was honestly great the whole night. He came in, he did a good job of hyping the crowd, he worked the stage, I thought the song order/setlist flowed really well throughout most of the concert, and it felt like most of the crowd was really into it. The choreo/background dancers didn't really detract from anything - I really liked it/him overall.
And as for Queen Charlotte....
Holy shit. I am so glad I wore some hearing protection, because when that banner went up in preparation for her to take the stage, the fucking crowd went NUTS. The screaming from the curtain drop HAD to have registered on an earthquake meter somewhere, because good lord was that a sonic boom from the arena.
The crowd was inSANELY hyped, the WHOLE TIME she was on. The energy in the room was just insane to me. Everyone was jumping, everyone was dancing. Hearing people poo-poo on "I Love It" being in the setlist - idk theydies, the whole area was fucking thrashing when it was on from where I was standing.
Absolutely transcendental.
My only regret, to be openly honest, was that I gimped my own experience. I had my phone out like 80% of the time, and I was so focused on "not missing it" with the camera, that I ended up missing SO MUCH of the overall experience because I had one eye on the phone screen instead of both eyes on the stage. I left with self-induced fomo over it. Going forward, I'm going to be more conscious of it and NOT wanting to record/photograph everything when I go to concerts. So, so, so many people in the pit had their phones up just as much as I did as well, and I wonder if anyone else left feeling like I did too. I understand better the artists who ban phones at their concerts now; there really is something magical about being truly and fully 'present' in the moment. That being said - I did manage to get some (imo) really good photos. I'll probably post a few once I get done processing them.
Actually my second regret is that I fucking ran to piss because I couldn't hold it anymore and while the urinal was sucking it all down I hear what I assume was Spring Breakers. I wanted to slit my wrists right there but oh well....
I was front row next to the pit. I didn't get pit/GA because at the time I thought I was going to take my boyfriend with me when I bought the tickets, and he's not a fan of squished in crowds and needs some "dedicated" space. But after I locked in my tickets I ended up switching things up and taking a friend of mine instead. Friend is a HUGE Troye Sivan fan, and since my friend had just gotten his clean bill of health for beating cancer just a few months ago, I wanted to give him my second ticket as a "congrats on beating cancer!" gift. My friends who moved to Chicago a few months ago housed us, so I told him all he needed to do was secure the plane tickets there and everything else is covered - concert, place to stay, even the food (Jesus Christ I melted a credit card on the food and restaurants and bars while I was there....)
When I led him to our seats he fucking lost it - I forgot to tell him we weren't up in the nosebleeds with our friends - I thought he was going to piss himself from excitement/shock. Had the timing of things gone differently and I knew I wanted to bring him from the jump, my ass would've picked pit and lined up hours early, no cap.
Whether she's doing this to target Charli and Billie or not, why are you acting as if "doing it to block Kanye this time instead" is any more mature of her lol… she's unhealthily chart obsessed
