This is so awesome!! Lizzy Grant You can be seen singing in the trailer park, riding on the back of black motorcycles, and watching heavy metal hour on TV. You are a driven, ambitious person. However, you often allow your negative impulses to take full reign and forget about long-term goals. Almost everyone who meets you falls in love with your sweet disposition, tacky-chic clothing style, and beautiful smile. I'm nothing like the Lizzy era but I think my answers were so mixed that the quiz had no idea what to do with me

Lana Del Rey Officially Announces TROPICO, "Coming to a City Near You"
Poison Ivy replied to Sitar's topic in New Releases
Pointing out traits is not an insult unless you lack a lot of self-awareness and take yourself far too seriously. No one said Lana's shallow in a 'omg I only care about money and clothes and lookin pretty' way, it was all about her focus on appearance in people she admires rather than their in depth personality. I'm pretty sure she'd agree with that herself and any rational being wouldn't feel mocked when others point out the obvious or when they're joking about shit she does. No one's all sunshine and rainbows and it's ok to discuss that - would you like this forum more if we just repeated over and over again how talented and amazing Lana is, every page of every topic? Wouldn't that be an interesting place? -

@@ThorixB you know when you have a friend you know so well and like so much that you can insult each other and call each other on shit without anyone really getting upset? With really no malice intended? I'm not saying we're Lana's friends lol but that's the kind of 'relationship' a lot of people on lanaboards have with Lana (including me). It's not human-God, it's human-human and sorry but humans aren't perfect.Of course Lana is shallow, although not in the worst way one can be - but all her idols are beautiful people, she visualizes herself as glamorous in her own songs and uses the word 'beautiful' to describe everything she likes. I mean she's not Amanda Bynes but I can't remember her saying she likes someone cause they're so intelligent. I'm sure she does like people because of that but the obsession with beautiful visuals/people is much more voiced out. It's an observation, not mocking. I see you can't distinguish realistic fans from bloggers who hate Lana, I mean that's a bit sad. But I guess with the way you treat people you don't know much about inter-human relationships. -

Lana Del Rey Officially Announces TROPICO, "Coming to a City Near You"

Yea I think we'd actually have to know her personally to be sure of that it could be her trying to be ~mysterious~ and misleading to interviewers. I personally think she's not much of a political person (despite what she said, yeah) because I see a sort of disconnect when it comes to topics like feminism/healthcare etc. and what she has to say. But yea this one is hard to tell she can be very defensive so maybe she just doesn't want to expose her opinions on more serious stuff, I'm like that with random ppl irl a lot. She might not feel comfortable - 'trust no one' and all, some people don't like debating if they don't know the person who 'challenges' them. -

I think both 'genius' and 'art' are things which are hard to ever pin-point, so I really wouldn't worry about that. There's no objectivity in this world but I think it's difficult to claim Lana isn't interesting and talented - just based on the complexity of her lyrics&sound, her video concepts, the really intense way she can express herself. That said, I don't think her less-deep/bad lyrics are an intentional criticism of pop industry or something. I think Lana's pretty straight forward and while she's a smart lady I'm sure, I've never really heard her intelligently critique something. I think she's better with raw feeling rather than subtle irony. I can't really tell where her worse lyrics come from either; I still believe Lana likes to play roles in her head and they don't always make sense in the outside world. I ((think I)) understand because sometimes I think about the way certain people live and it fascinates me, even if I don't find that way of life appealing really but if I find it fascinating enough I'd try to write about it and emulate it in my head because that's the only way I could ever experience it. But she takes it one step further. I'm not sure I'm making sense but as I said in the feminism topic, I think Lana's just so many things and it's quite fascinating. I'm not sure what genius even means these days, but in her odd way she has some traces of it. -

She's too prolific to ever stop making music, I believe ~ if she doesn't release it anymore, well I'm sure it will get to us sooner or later anyway

Lana Del Rey Officially Announces TROPICO, "Coming to a City Near You"

Today I learned: everyone lives either near LA or NYC Anyway, awesome for whoever's around, sounds like she'll be there (?) -
This is what I've been thinking, Lana likes to play the kitten because she coos and giggles and men fall in her lap immediately but she's more like a tiger in disguise (ehm, shark?). She seems like a very intense person and if I go by her songs she really starts idolizing the guys she likes - like people do generally when they fall in love, but Lana's extreme as always ('I promise that I'll think of you as the king' 'you can be the boss' 'you're my king champion' all this) - which sounds submissive, but she also has this borderline crazy sense of ownership over them which shows her more dominant side. I think she's just a very needy, passionate lover rather than submissive . Lana seems to glamorize life a lot and romanticize the past so I think her more submissive lyrics relate to her enjoying to play the role of a 50s girlfriend or something, but she's not all sugar. She is/was so immersed into this 'make your life a work of art' thing that she kinda directed her life the way it made sense in her mind, rather than how humans normally do - but she's very in charge, in a very weird way. I might be really wrong, of course ~ but this is why Lana fascinates me, she just is so many things. I think stuff like 'beat me and tell me no one will love me better than you do' is about a particular unhealthy relationship (I'm not sharp enough at Lanalysis to point at a specific one, but maybe one of her local rockstars) that she again romanticizes, because it's what Lana does.

@@Foolish - trends in clothing are influenced by many things and believe it or not, straight men aren't exactly important (except when it comes to their own clothing of course ). A skirt of any length can be sexy on the right person, if I find a short skirt sexy on myself it's cause I like the way my legs look when wearing it for example. It seriously doesn't relate to men, that's why women hate to be cat-called and harassed when walking down the street and men who think that's a compliment are very deluded.

I think I love every song on similar levels but I guess those that I like a bit more than the others are Pretty Baby & Bad Disease

Aww, they're cute. And Lana's clothes finally make sense together
