What does how she suffered have to do with her awful lyrics? She's expressed suffering in all her albums. Electra Heart was about a guy and her dad, her self concept and she was able to find really memorable lines to express herself. Also Marina is not perfect. I'm A Ruin, Blue, Homewrecker etc. etc. Don't ask me to care about her having panic attacks when she's surely given some of the people in her life their own. No one is a victim here. I'm not gonna use her heartbreak or exposure to mold as a reason why her music has severely declined. If anything that's an opportunity to go even deeper. Bring back the inner critic!

"Too bad you'll never see the colors inside of me" is SUCH an awful stupid line. It just doesn't land in any real way. In what scenario is someone sad they missed on seeing someone's colors when the relationship is clearly transactional. Like it sounds like she's coveting something that the other person never even gave a fuck about. She needs to stop singing about her fake LA bubble that she willingly put herself in.

The truth about Marina is she genuinely doesn't have a love for music, nor good taste in music. When she needed to prove herself, her taste was more DIY, alternative and challenging of the pop she sought to rise above... Instantly panned and remarked as being of the likes of rupi kaur, which is pretty much worse than poetry 101. She's wealthy, secure and uncurious. She probably unknowingly listens to spotify AI artists. She seems unsure of herself, even when claiming a confidence and calm in her career/inner condition. She's about to release a song that is supposed to convince us that a metamorphosis has taken place. The snippet alone reveals something more of a degeneration into tiktok slop...
