  1. Your work is always top notch quality, so I'm really looking forward to listen to the project in its entirety !
  2. You can cut the sexual tension between that Daddy and Lana with a machete
  3. I'm so sorry, I'm so dumb, you made me laugh (now that I got it !!!) hahaha sowwyyyyy
  4. Oh no, not at all, I simply lose count of every time she's spotted.. (For instance that NYC appearance where she's sporting a Beautiful coat and long curls...) Anyway, the pic made me melt on the spot !
  5. I'm sorry but I stumbled upon this on Google and it actually led me here, lol, but ... She's so cute !!!!!
  6. Hey there ! I don't know if such a topic has already been created (as far as my researches go, it didn't but I could be wrong of course !) but I always wanted to see what covers you chose to illustrate your Lana Del Rey songs. I don't even know how we could coordinate this, since she has such a huge catalog but the point of this would be to, for instance, give a song title (Lolita, for example) and see what covers you decided would suit it best. Also, I know that sometimes I pick a cover to illustrate a song that doesn't necessarily have the same title as the cover, just because I feel that the picture gives a certain vibe that suits the song. So yeah, I would find such a discussion very interesting ! (Maybe it's just me ) I'll start with ... Mermaid Motel. I chose this picture because it has a bunch of elements that I associate with the song. - The colors : pink, a hint of lavender. - The palm trees : duh. - The mermaid : double duh. And the artwork in general is really well done, I love the pencil look and the way that Lana's face is included in this composition. And I don't even know who the artist is ... (Again, sorry if such a topic already exists, I tried my best to find it ! )
  7. Those are a perfect example of repetitive chorus that don't bother me .. Pretty When You Cry is so beautiful ... And Ultraviolence gets repeated a few times but then features sentences like "I can hear violins / he hit me and it felt like a kiss". I don't know, I love those songs. The Summertime Sadness comparison made earlier is a very clever one, I didn't even think about it cause I love that song so SO much ...
  8. I don't see the problem with a chorus having repetitive words/sentences ... She's got plenty of elaborate choruses which are splendid, but Répétitive choruses never bothered me..
  9. It's interesting how the BTD (song) vocals turned a lot of us off and then we fell in love ...
  10. I find it sad to see MC made fun of in here... Like I Get where this is coming from but she's a very special artist to me, she's helped me a lot when I got through some shit so... If it's not to create constructive criticism, could we not ?
  11. Actually, I don't think the Sia comparison for WFL is that far stretched, I could hear Sia singing "But I can't let you iiiiiin" etc ...
  12. "Butterfly" is a gem in R&B music and I think that anybody who knows a but about the genre will confirm that, although that's not the point here !
  13. I ... LOVE this album. Honestly, this is my favorite album ever. At first, I didn't quite like Lana, I had watched the Born to Die music video but ... I wasn't that fond of her voice. But the visuals had struck me, so I went back and watched it a second time. And then a 3rd time and BAM ! I was hypnotized. And then came along "Blue Jeans", and I was hooked forever. I think what really struck me was the world that she created with this album. I had never heard someone singing about drugs, and wealth and love and hopes and desperation the way she did. It was a whole new world. (*cues Aladdin*) So I began digging frantically and I found AKA and then ... The deep web of Lana's unreleased songs ! Amazing. Practically every song was as good as all the others. What an era that was : I just fell in love (truly, she began the first celebrity crush I ever had ) I mean she just was everything : this sweet red headed girl singing over heavy hip hop beats with a savory balance between melancholy and joy and always so cute when she dressed. I don't care what anyone has to say about this album, "Born to Die" and its "Paradise" Companion are heavenly !
  14. Really ? Where ? I always read that she was very happy with that sound, that she was proud of making something that she thought was beautiful.
  15. I'm glad it isn't cause I really appreciate you. So forgive me if my words hurt you but I don't like seing call outs like those. If you didn't like my comment (which was written on purpose, I don't think that of you), then don't do the same to others.
  16. It's sad really, you're so talented but so egotistic ...
  17. Interesting analysis .. I never would have read the lyrics that way but it's an interesting point of view !
  18. "Better than your booze and blow?" That makes more sense than what I heard (AKA "better than your boobs")
  19. Or the sound that makes you think that your boiling kettle is ready !
  20. Oh this is such a throwback to the best elements of Born To Die ... It's like seing an old friend and catching up ! The chorus is beautiful and the scat at the end as well ! The "show" element also makes me think of "AKA" (but it's probably because of Yayo)
  21. Hmm I can see where you're coming from ! This is the type of posts that I enjoy reading on forums, the ones that make me think about music and lyrics etc ..
  22. Huh ... Interesting, I've never felt that about religious or politic-themed songs. "Give more power to the people"("political song") doesn't sound preachy or corny or both to me ... But that's just me. So I wouldn't mind religious songs at all.
  23. Yeah, I was thinking about songs like Diet Mtn Dew ... She really should do a couple of "rare" ones (whatever the album) once in a while. Give time to her band to be at ease with them and then perform it.. Lolita has been performed, though
