Hey guys, how's everybody's day so far? Anyway, i just wanna share some of my covers i made with y'all on here, since i've never posted them anywhere else, i figured out i'd post it here on LanaBoards (bcs why not)

Honestly though, China.Palace has been exposed multiple times to be full of shit, why are we even talking about them 

the album cover art has grow on me, but its not the best, its not beautiful, mysterious, and simplistic, it feels just thrown together at the last second but it has grown on me and now i see it as a cover art and nothing iconic

Hello! So, Keeping this community isn't free, and it isn't possible to make much money from the ads.
 
"As you know back at the start of April when West Coast first aired we faced two days of downtime. This was because our server wasn't able to cope with the huge load of people trying to access the forum (over 50,000 people trying to access the forum on April 14th) We expect the demand to exceed this when Ultraviolence is finally released and the events leading up to it. We have now agreed with our server provider to allow the server spec to grow automatically when the demand meets exceeds our current specifications." 
 
This was back in the Ultraviolence era, since then the growth of the forum has skyrocketed. In the month of July alone we're had 750,000 people try and access the site which led to multiple instances of regrettable downtime... So far in August, just under 1 million people have tried to access the forum... The server that we are currently on isn't able to keep up with this demand, and the further demand that the new era will bring.
 
Because of this we're asking you for a small contribution to help support this place and keep it running. Any and all money that is contributed is funneled strictly towards the monthly server/software bill. Not a single penny is pocketed for personal use. I created Lana Boards because I adore Lana and love being able to create and join in on a place where we can all stay up-to-date on news and socialise with each other. I truly enjoy this place and never desire to make a penny off of running it. The time I put into this place is solely out of passion for music and a strong desire to create a nice space for everyone to interact on.
 
To keep things completely transparent, I currently pay $950 a year for our forum software and our server. I don't mind picking up some of that tab myself, but just if you enjoy this place, it would help out if you could make a small donation to help pay that bill.

Got some cool plans for this one. Looooong way to go. 

The concept comes from the idea that the "Badlands" represent her mind (playing into the fact that she's bipolar and struggled with it throughout her teenage years). The concept is less apparent on the deluxe because Tracks like Hurricane, Strange Love, & I Walk the line deviate from it, but its essentially her navigating though the different mental struggles she's faced by conceptualizing them into songs. The album itself bounces through highs (Roman Holiday) and the lows (colors) much like something someone with mental illness (or really anyone just to a less drastic degree) would experience. The best example of this would be Control where the lines bounce from symptoms of mania ("I paced around for hours on empty, I jumped at the slightest of sounds") and depression ("I couldn't stand the person inside me, I turned all the mirrors around). While I'm obviously overanalyzing it, I think its a pretty solid concept album given that its the debut from a 20 year old and she wrote it with a relatively small amount of people (the tracks were done with a lot of different producers yet have common lyrical themes leading me to believe she actually did write a lot of it). I think people are trashing the album because they don't like her as a person (which I can see why) but I don't think the album is bad by any means.

I'm going to be completely honest, I really didn't like this album at all. I'm not some Halsey-hater or anything, but I gave the album a good, solid chance and it just felt very faux-deep. The one song that stuck out to me that I love is Hurricane. I had already liked that song before and I was hoping for more songs along that speed. Maybe the album will grow on me, but I just had trouble understanding the concept. I might try it again, but that's what I'm feelin from this album.

I really want some Halcyon-esque larger-than-life productions with tens of layers per song to dig through. I suppose a dancey record a la Halcyon Days wouldn't be awful by any means, as long as she shakes things up a bit

The album is quite nice.
Not too original and not too diversive but nice to listen to.
Ghost, Hurricane and New Americana still are highlights of the album.
I also really like Control, it's having such a nice sound and the lyrics are ok aswell.
The rest is composed of "nice" songs and some that are ok to listen to, but actualyl quite forgetable as stand-alone-songs.
Her voice is really nice, though.

Could you please tell me why is it relevant to us that you got it before everyone on here? I'm not excited about this leak but I don't find any explanation at all besides bragging and the need to feel special so I want to know your reasons. Thank you!  
I'll wait till it's out on iTunes so I can hear it in the best quality possible. Not here for messy leaks from someone I don't even stan. I'm excited for the album because I gotta admit everything I listened so far it's nice and I'm sure there will be some bops. But I can wait.
