I do agree with you but I just want to say that Vulnicura isn't pop music at all - it was just insanely, dramatically awesome. It was the comeback of her life. Honeymoon is like her Medúlla (my favorite Björk album), most of the time forgotten because it was too polarizing for fans or even critics. It won't be as remembered as BTD or UV.
 
I don't think Lana needs to be poppier to get recognition, she just needs that magic to have the fans, the critics and the GP - all of them, something she never really had all at the same time.

Ok so here's how it went for me - I'm still shaken asf I have no idea what even happened and I think I caught a planet sized cold - I ran my literal ass off to the tube (I'm so fucking glad I haven't been slacking on cardio cause holy shit I probably outran Usain Bolt), went there and there was nobody in the area so I got scared, then I saw tons of people waiting including paps and basically after that I waited like 2h, I saw Stella Mac Cartney, a LOT of ULTRA HOT people, Lucky Blue Smith who is like, 3m tall?, Charli XCX who left like a thief, some other famous people I don't know the name of, and most importantly I fucking saw Lana, when she got out it was ABSOLUTE CHAOS, literal ultraviolence, I ALMOST didn't met her but an old lady w white hair grabbed the fuck out of me and slammed me on the barricade and Lana saw my sweater and did an adorable dork face for 0.3s and then took pics with me and I look gross but whatever I'm so motherfucking happy. Didn't got UV vinyl signed but to this point I don't even give a fuck I mean??????????????? Seriously this morning I almost didn't got out of bed because I was depressed out of my balls and tonight I got pics with her? This is the best year ever for me and I'm literally leaking gratitude. Also she looked taller than the other time and so beautiful and Johnny and Ben were here and I SWEAR TO GOD when they got into the car I was the one Johnny was waving at laughing, I think it's because of my sweater, and Lana was waving too so bye I'm going to die, still considering going to the Brits tomorrow but I'm emotionally drained and most probably sick I'm so fucking happy

I loooooooooooooooooove the video. Lana looks STUNNING in the it. She needs to bring this beauty queen back. The visuals make sense to me. She's giving this man acid and taking him on a "trip" and there he meets all these beautiful women. No, it's not literally about taking someone to California, but she's still taking him somewhere. Basically to another dimension or a fantasy.

With that said, I thought the water parts were too long. I was really disappointed to see that she used some of the same exact footage as she did in the MTWBT video. I thought there was a possibility she would use some of this water material she had, but I expected her to at least use different parts. It also went on for way too long. I get that he's dying, but she could have cut it down to like one minute and then ended it with the shot of his face and it would've been fine. Maybe I wouldn't have this complaint I hadn't already seen some of this stuff in her previous video, but since she didn't even bother to remove the outtakes from MTWBT, all I could think about during those five minutes was how she needs to step up her motivation game.

The video was just OK for me, some nice shots, great to have more of the UV footage. Lana looks stunning, especially when she smiles.
 
But there's a really fine line between super slo-mo being meaningful and it being "fuuuuck we have to stretch this footage out".
I mean, nice foot/leg and all, but do we really need 20 slow seconds of it?
 
On a more positive note, it's generating pretty enthusiastic responses from many 'serious music sites'. Stereogum has a wonderful long essay about LDR and FJM - really worth reading if you have the time.
