  4. I know it's a bit overdone at this point, but I haven't seen Lana live since 2017 and I've never seen her perform Cherry. I would very much like to see that.

  6. Beautiful & meaningful footage, but I do hope this video gets the Arcadia treatment and she releases another cut of the video--the video without the behind-the-scene stuff.
  7. That's funny, yall always complain about how ''repetitive''/poor her lyrics were prior to NFR, especially on Ultraviolence. Always acting like those songs are, in hindsight, subar from a songwriting perspective. That's one POV I don't give a fuck about and/or don't agree with. The music was so much more atmospheric then. Besides I've had this argument countless times with you and other hardcore post-NFR stans--I've stated my case many times and I don't care to do it again with you here. Love that some people love the vagabond poet-stream of consciousness, more freestyle stuff, and there are songs I really appreciate that follow that path/approach, but I still think that her pre-NFR lyricism was more mystical, mysterious and effective without feeling like she was breathlessly trauma dumping sharing her innermost thoughts.   8. Lyrics are lyrics, I couldn't care less if some songs have repetitive lyrics. At the end of the day, I like it when they mesh well with the melody and create a distinct atmosphere/vibe--which is exactly what she managed to do on her earlier records with that type of lyricism. On the other hand, I don't think that just because a song is more personal or wordy that the lyrics are necessarily superior or better; they might be more ''developed'' but that's it. Some of her wordier/mumblier pieces aren't all that melodic, or have much replay value. I'll take Lana singing that she's a sad girl or that she wants money, power & glory on a continuous loop, over her waxing poetics about her innermost thoughts, stream of consicousness style, without any real distinctive melody. I appreciate all her songs and I think the songs are interesting from an artistic POV, but I don't find myself wanting to dive into the latter all that much.

  11. Just as insufferable as NFR stans thinking the album is some sort of lyrical masterpiece just cause she sings about being a vagabond poet missing x, y & z every other song.

  13. The last four tracks aren't the strongest, but they aren't bad by any means. I still wish Taco Truck was a full song though, but it's whatever at this point. I don't think that's gonna stop Lana from doing whatever she wants to do next, besides she made it clear at the Billboard event that she doesn't have a long term vision.
  14. I would've taken a full Taco Truck song and no "x VB" at all; the song had so much potential, but it's basically 1/3 Taco Truck and 2/3 of this trap beats-y mashup of Venice Bitch, it doesn't elevate either song (both Tack Truck and the OG Venice Bitch) by any means.

I'm over people acting like it's a bad, or juvenile, thing to want Lana to go back to a more bombastic sound à la Born to Die or Ultraviolence, when the past four albums were mostly (not all) piano ballads and understated, mellow, folk-esque songs. Also, her bombastic/world building and quick witted or however one might categorize the songwriting on her pre-NFR tunes >>>>> the singer-songwriter, vagabond poet, trauma dumpingpersonal, stream of consciousness songwriting. And I'm not saying the latter is bad or unintersting, but if I had to chose, I'd go with the former.

  17. I think some of them are bad/cringe, but there are genuinely good MDM performances out there--it's definitely an interesting style of singing though. I don't say this to sound Stan Twitter-y, but I think it's camp. Those are my faves: I especially love that one, cause I was there:
  18. I'm critical of Jack Antonoff, but I don't "hate" Jack Antonoff as a producer for Lana. I have issues with the execution at times, but I'm also a sucker for the NFR title track, Venice Bitch, White Dress, A&W, Grandfather, etc. However, I do think it's time for something new--regardless of the fact that he is a talented and versatile musician and how comfortable and chill she feels with him in the studio, we've heard the range and dare I say the limitations regarding his input to her music. I think as an artist she'd do herself a service by getting out of her comfort zone. Like, not for nothing, the songs that actually left me shook and/or that truly felt impactful, besides A&W, were there non-Jack produced tracks: The Grants, Candy Necklace, Fingertips and Let The Light In.
  19. Same thing with the Patty slander, we have concrete proof that she has a poor relationship with her mother/they are estranged. She addressed the trauma--we can move forward.
