  1. yeah whatever, you and I have had this argument about the NFR sound time and again. Your blind faith in Jack is cute, yet distressing. Wait until you hear the album before you jump to conclusions.
  2. Jared contains multitudes, he simultaneously strokes Jack's artistic dick, while expressing disdain for what Jack is actually known for within Lana's work.
  3. Get Free is her very best closing track.
  4. But NFR was "calm and relaxing and yoga"... I'm not even making this up, she has literally been making calm, understated, "organic" music since 2019. You act like she hasn't been making variations of the same type of music starting with NFR.
  5. I just want to say that I don't think @lanasbottomis rude in any capacity, you share your truth and you stick to your guns despite having so called unpopular opinions regarding Lana's music--I very much relate to that. We need more opiniated people like you, not afraid of ruffling some feathers for the sake of having a discussion every now and again.
  6. Ultraviolence and West Coast for album and song of the decade. That's all.
  7. I guess I will just campaign for West Coast to win song of the decade.
  8. She wasn't actually on fire
  9. Yeah same, Ride is an amazing song and production wise it's one of her best, I find it odd that they just didn't make more of that type of music together.
  10. @BlackoutZone is there more Rick Rubin material out there, or did he and Lana recorded Ride at Shangri-La and called it a day? I wonder why they've only ever done one song together, and at an early stage in her career.
  11. Agree to disagree 💀 I just feel like the album's version sounds tinny and overlyhazy in comparison, but it's definitely interesting how two vastly different version of a single song exist.
  12. I also want to point out that the album's version sounds a little hollow and less atmospheric than the single version, it's a combination of all the elements you've mentioned. The single version sounds more balanced to me.
  13. I feel very validated right now--I too have been ranting about this since 2014. Thank you.
  14. I feel like I'm the only one that makes a fuss about this, but I listened to West Coast like 500 times before she dropped UV, so by the time the album came out, I was able to decipher both versions.
  15. I just want to say that the so called pre-UV release mixed version of West Coast, the one that she released the day after performing it at Coachella (now being referred to as the Rob Orton mix or the Single video on YouTube) is far superior to the version that ended up on the album. To this day, I still don't understand why she (or her team) felt like it needed the fine tuning it received, as it already sounded perfect; the vocals were pristine and the drums and guitars were hazy enough as is. I never listen to the album's version of West Coast. I still have the single file I bought on iTunes in April of 2014 and I like to pretend like it's the only official version in existence.
  16. My brain the past 24 hours trying to register all this information from 2013-2017:
  17. Just in case. @BlackoutZone 🤓
  18. Is there a Cruel World demo, or Rick version? Or was that a song she made with Blake and Dan without Rick being involved? And also follow up question: did she consider a different opening track at some point? @BlackoutZone
  19. It's so interesting, because up until yesterday I was under the impression that she just made an almost complete Ultraviolence album with Rick, then when she met Dan she just reworked/tweaked the songs, but it's way more complicated and intricate than that. I'm so here for this behind the scenes tea. This album deserves its very own Netflix documentary. Magnum Opus.
  20. Sad Girl is that bottled gold almost one take girlie I knew she were.
