What a gorgeous title. "The right person will stay" is such a beautiful thing to hear from someone who has written so many forlorn & hopeless lyrics. As for Lasso... I really have a strong feeling that it had a lot of overlap with the American Standards & Classics cover album. I hope more covers other than Take Me Home Country Roads see the light of day, just not on The Right Person Will Stay. I was obsessed with her singing All I Have to Do Is Dream by the Everly Brothers on Met Gala night. Belated Honeymoon anniversary post incoming...,. The title track and Terrence Loves You are two of her most beautiful songs. My life was so fucking crazy and bad when Honeymoon was coming out but the gorgeous piano, synths, vocals and songwriting rly ended up overwriting and defining that period of my life. I also think it really solidified a lot of her artistry with the whole sultry mysterious songwriter thing, and also as a beautiful vocalist and talented lyricist. It was less well-received than the last two albums but really confirmed her as an artist that wasn't just necessarily doing what was palatable & chart-worthy. Bonus thoughts: Honeymoon sounds best on the hottest days of the year. This album's bridges are some of the best in her career. The demos are fkn immaculate, Freak demo bridge forever, marry me marry me etc. I miss her Nina Simone covers as album closers so bad. BRING BACK UO EXCLUSIVE VINYL. And we literally both know it's not fashionable to love me like omfg

NFR 5 years... there is no other album I have such strong memories and feelings about. I'm so glad I got to experience it in real time, I remember where I was listening to each single, and this album will always bring me back to exactly where I was in 2019. I think this is one of those almost historic albums that will be remembered long after her career is over, like a Blue by Joni Mitchell or a Back to Black by Amy. It's such memorable and beautiful songwriting accompanied by such incredible and atmospheric production (everyone say thank you Jack Antonoff). I feel so lucky to exist at the same time as NFR

I'm reallllly ready for new Marina. I have my hopes up for this next album, fingers crossed she goes back to her TFJ roots (at least lyrically) and really delivers. I think the timing of a comeback this year or next is perfect too -- it's been long enough since ADIAML, she sounds like she's in a better place, and the tumblr girls are really back right now. + Also these new leaks sound so pretty, I'll always love the sound of her unfinished home demos

Ugh Fenway really can be such a mess. They definitely do concerts but it isn't their main function and you can tell. Not ideal, but I also see Lana's very all-American vision with a Fenway show. Too bad so many things went wrong :/ I really really hope she can come back some time. I really wouldn't want a huge TD Garden show, and MGM is too small. It's tough because now that she's so big (these fkn TikTok kids omfg) it only makes sense for her to do larger venues, but it's so much less intimate. Despite it all I'm secretly hoping for a Fenway round #2 some day

Of course I am a little bummed I didn't get to meet Lana or get my vinyl signed, but I did get to meet Rob and Lana waved at me, so I'll take it. Makes me feel better that most of the people who did meet her found her at her hotel, which is probably a little too intrusive for me lol. Kind of a whirlwind of a day/night with all the delay stuff, and I really really hope she comes back at some point for a 2-hour show, but overall such a fun experience
