I had a dream the other night that an ~insider~ came onto the boards to share that Lana and Quavo had been working on a joint album titled "Call Me?" before it was ultimately scrapped. They had 7 songs finished before the project was abandoned to focus on their solo projects. The insider leaked what was intended to be the lead single from the record, but they leaked it without a title so there was a debate on whether the song was called "Gold and Grey" or "Golden Grey" - it sounded like a mix between Come With Me and Groupie Love. It had sort of that rising/soaring sonic sound and brought back some orchestral string instruments. Lana was singing mostly in her higher register and Quavo's part was during the bridge as Lana did some harmonies. That's all I can remember about the song, but it was really pretty xx

Belated Honeymoon anniversary post incoming...,.
 
The title track and Terrence Loves You are two of her most beautiful songs. My life was so fucking crazy and bad when Honeymoon was coming out but the gorgeous piano, synths, vocals and songwriting rly ended up overwriting and defining that period of my life. I also think it really solidified a lot of her artistry with the whole sultry mysterious songwriter thing, and also as a beautiful vocalist and talented lyricist. It was less well-received than the last two albums but really confirmed her as an artist that wasn't just necessarily doing what was palatable & chart-worthy.
 
Bonus thoughts: Honeymoon sounds best on the hottest days of the year. This album's bridges are some of the best in her career. The demos are fkn immaculate, Freak demo bridge forever, marry me marry me etc. I miss her Nina Simone covers as album closers so bad. BRING BACK UO EXCLUSIVE VINYL. And we literally both know it's not fashionable to love me like omfg

NFR 5 years... there is no other album I have such strong memories and feelings about. I'm so glad I got to experience it in real time, I remember where I was listening to each single, and this album will always bring me back to exactly where I was in 2019. I think this is one of those almost historic albums that will be remembered long after her career is over, like a Blue by Joni Mitchell or a Back to Black by Amy. It's such memorable and beautiful songwriting accompanied by such incredible and atmospheric production (everyone say thank you Jack Antonoff). I feel so lucky to exist at the same time as NFR
