In observance of the month-long national holiday in honor of Jackson Novem and paying respect to your obliterated faves' careers, I made the executive decision to skip #NOVEMber and make Trash Magic December's MOTM! He's someone who has been kicking around since the very beginning of this community so needless to say this was long overdue and quite deserved. Give it up for our graphic artist and grammar icon extraordinaire and make this year go outwithabang.mp3

@WestCoastLanatic I am absolutely not shading you. Sorry if it came across that way. I did say it was presumptuous and sad that any one of us label fans one way or another so I was including myself. It is a general statement about anyone and about any fan of any artist. Anytime we think we are superior to other fans because they started to like Lana after she got popular or only know her singles or still dress in flower crowns like she used to - anytime we do this, we disconnect from the real purpose of being a fan - THE MUSIC. For me, I tell myself "Who cares that they started liking Lana when she got popular - at least her fan base is growing. Who cares girls still wear flower crowns or only know her singles? At least they are honoring her in their way. I try to care less about other people and their relationship to Lana and try to focus on why I love her so much.

I feel your pain. I know what it is like to miss out on the tickets I really wanted for a show. I have been there too many times and it sucks!!! I feel you. The good news is that you are going to see LANA! The other good news is that you have a dad who will take you to show and help save money for it. That is one cool dad!!!

I love the "Born To Die" ERA. Not only musically (with the usual use of the strings in every song ... fantastic * _ *), but also aesthetically ...

I preferred more Lana with red hair, than that of now (I'm not saying it's ugly now!)

Two years ago there were SS, Video Games and Blue Jeans ... now there are West Coast and Ultraviolence ... unfortunately don't hold up the legacy.

<3 I love that sound.... It was brilliant the idea of strings as the opening of the songs (although the long would become heavy)

I don't really know where to post this...
I wonder what happened between Lana and Jaime King. They def had a falling out. Modern day proof: Jaime isn't following Lana on instagram anymore (GOSH I swear I do have a life.) It just seems odd. And now Jaime is besties with TS. I mean, gimme some truth

I think only dedicated fans are buying the VIP package. In general, I find that people either don't care about Lana or they are really really into her.
Within those that do buy the VIP packages (myself included) I don't think that shelling out money means less dedication than those that wait in line for 10hours. Time is money. I can work X amount of hours to make enough to buy the VIP ticket or I can wait X amount of hours on the asphalt. I chose to work in the comfort of my office, but I'm still going to arrive early to get a better advantage to the front row.
Damn right I'm never letting go of that barricade! I'm hitting the gym and pumping iron the next six months in preparation!

    Ouiiiii!!!

I got the silver package as well. At 9:55am I was refreshing the page like crazy. This package was sold out a few hours later. Surprisingly, there's plenty of very good tickets still available for the pre-sale at regular price.

@: my initial plan was to get a GA ticket at regular price. My ultimate goal for this show is to get front row, right in the center. If I'm on the edges, she might not come to my side. I want to see as clear as possible the expression in her eyes when she sings. It really moves me. They are the mirror of the soul.

I was fine getting there at 5-6am even though I'm not an early bird. I was fine waiting for 12-14 hours. Then I realized that if people with a VIP silver package are allowed to enter the venue for GA before everybody else, they will take the best spot and people who waited all day will have to take the remaining space. Is it fair? It's subjective I guess... it sucks for people who waited all day, but on the other hand, there are real fans who absolutely cannot skip school or work to get in line early. It's not my case, but I'm trying to figure the positive side of it, because honestly it makes be sad to think some fans cannot have a premium spot even though they waited all day.

Regarding the meet & greet, honestly I don't care much... she's quite accessible, if I want to say hi, there are plenty other ways to do it. I'm already slightly uncomfortable with the concept of paying extra to skip the line, I don't want to feel more uncomfortable paying to meet her. There's nothing wrong with it and I have no idea how those things work, but I have the impression of something artificial about it. I checked VIP packages for other artists and if you want to meet Usher, you have to pay a minimum of $800. The gold package is $1400 and it allows you to blow his cock.

To see Lana, my limit would have been $400 for the silver VIP package. It's a one shot thing.

Yeah, but I think you're paying more than you have to if you just bought during the presale. Like I said, independent sellers on Stubhub want $1,000 for lawn tickets at my venue, which are as far away from the stage as you can possibly get. That is absolutely insane.

Other thing is, Stubhub will have tickets available long after the shows sell out, so it'll always be there if you need to find a ticket in the next six months— sure, you'll be paying a lot, but people will still be selling them on there until the show date. The actual Ticketmaster & Live Nation sales are only going to last so long before they sell out. I'd rather try to get my tickets in the official presale. Stubhub to me is something that you should resort to using if the venue's box office is sold out and you have no other options.

I don't know how bad it is to wait in line all day, but when I went to her show in May, I was in line by myself for general admission (there was more or less 500 person in front of me) and when they let us in and I got closer to the door, I saw a pile of old blankets, cheap umbrella chairs and plenty of takeout food trash that people left behind. I spotted some mini-camping settings that looked quite comfy. I waited 1.5h in line before they opened the door and my lower back was killing me, I had to sit on the ground. I guess for some people I looked completely idiot as I was the only one sitting on the asphalt for that part of the line. It looked like I was being punished or something. I was not prepared, but now I plan to become the queen of organization and comfort. A perfect Martha Stewart of GA. I need one of these:

If you decide to get a ticket with a seat assigned, don't worry about what other people think. If I had to wait for my friends every time I wanted to do things I like, I would have missed great life experiences and opportunities.

Go in the subway and sing your songs!

    I mean... Why not?

If I didn't have the money I would seriously beg on the streets.

If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never miss a Lana Del Rey concert again.

I think I'm all in. Seriously, I'm getting old, I've never been able to get a fucking ticket for the Backstreet Boys (lol) when I was 14 I cried my heart out 'cause my mother was a single mom and we were poor, all I could wish for is to get the line at the radio station to win tickets and participate to every contest possible...

#brokewithexpensivetaste. Too bad. I'll register to seekingarrangement or eat Kraft Dinner for 2-3 weeks.

Do it up girl! I know what you mean, growing up poor. I never wanted things in my early life cause I knew it was challenging for my rents. Now I make my own way and I want to live my life. If I get a selfie with Lana I'll retire from the pit for future shows I go to.

Anyway, I almost have a chance to see Lana  She'll be over 100 miles away away though   It must happen though!

i think that's precisely where the sniping remarks come from. maxim doesn't care about what's inside. their angle is always sex; not brains / creativity / style (or music, even). all the other publications that interview her typically come from other angles. but the fact that lana has so much external beauty (the main focus of maxim) in addition to a massively complex internal world; well that will always be off putting to some people (particularly someone at maxim, i'd imagine)

this might make me sound like some feminazi dyke with a bra and a bic (or whatever politically warped cliche i'm about to perpetuate), but i think many men are terrified of beautiful women. now give said woman a brain and most would probably consider her to be a legitimate threat and/or danger to their well being (or ego, lord forbid)

its not just women that 'hate' other women. men can be just as cruel, but for different reasons

  20. Lilybert liked a post in a topic by kik in Does Lana regret becoming famous?
I think she likes studio recording the best because she can put all the puzzle pieces together and finalize her creation. I noticed introverted musicians prefer studio work and extroverted ones crave to be on stage. I think she feels good when she's surrounded by people who understand the person that she is and "ordinary people" don't comprehend her multidimensional, unusual and unpredictable personality. I also think she appreciates being in control and in her comfort zone. She's emotionally-driven and easy to destabilize. Expressing emotions (singing) in front of thousands of people must be hard sometimes, specially when she is not in the mood or if something wrong is happening in her life. Sometimes, it seems she can't put her problems/worries aside for that 75 minute performance and it looks like she can't connect with her emotions, she seems distracted and not 100% there. If she has stomach ulcer, it must be extremely uncomfortable to sing. I have severe heartburn and I wouldn't say it's soooo painful, but I can't pretend I'm alright when it happens. I figure an ulcer must be worse. Stress aggravates the situation.

I don't think she regrets being famous now, but she might have been disappointed with what celebrity really is. She's still on a quest for happiness and realizing she's on top and yet not fulfilled as a person must have been quite a disappointment. It comes with many negative aspects (no privacy, harsh critics etc). The price to pay for success is sometimes very high. And touring can be draining. Artists are often disorganized by nature (day-by-day living) and having that kind of planning might be too demanding for her. Being on tight schedule, flights, trains, roads, packing, unpacking, get her hair and makeup done, sound check blah blah blah every day and probably more tasks we don't know about. It's not like a fun unplanned road trip.

Being away from home in that context could make her lose her points of reference. She said she feels lonely when she tours. At the beginning I though it was a bit strange (not negatively) that her father followed her in her tour, but now I understand why. I wouldn't have though one can feel lonely while touring. She gets tons of applause, she's not alone, but those people, who are they?

Funny how I repeat myself over and over, but I so much like analyzing her.
