I strongly recommend the book. Absolutely eye opener. The movie was great and Tilda Swinton did an excellent job but it misses out on some important parts, in my opinion. I feel like you need to read the book before seeing the film. But definitely do both, you'll adore them.

I can agree with this. Mostly because A$AP Rocky. However, Ride monologue > National Anthem Monologue.

I think we need to draw a distinction between in love and in lust though. A lot of Lana's relationships seem fueled by lust, sex and desire but of course love can spawn from this. However, in this circumstance I feel as if she's talking from a more "fling" perspective. I kind of see where your going with "my pussy etc" sounding impersonal but I also think that could be intentional. A lot of people (including myself at some point) use sex as a way to dissociate or depersonalise themselves from what's going on. Sex just becomes an action you derive raw pleasure from. Sometimes it's nice for sex to just be sex rather than actual romance. Love is very tiring. Sometimes casual is better.

Hey Video Games is a nice song, it's how I fell in love with Lana but it's not a strong song. It's what pulls you towards Lana but after you hear the rest of BtD, it comes off as very subpar, to me anyway.

I love Radio as a demo so much. I also just generally love the lyrics. Hey little bit of Lanalysis here, have you noticed differences in the lyrics for the studio and live versions of Radio? Studio: Baby love me cause I'm playing on the radio Live: [My] baby loves me cause I'm playing on the radio It's really subtle but I've been thinking about it on and of for weeks and it's kind of like in the studio lyrics she's asking to be loved. However, in the live version to me it more implies she's only loved because of this which is kind of sadder. I have no idea why I typed all this now I kind of just remembered. But anyway, which Carmen demo you prefer? The piano one or the a capella version?
