  1. I have to imagine she isn’t simultaneously releasing with vinyl if there is a chance she is changing things while still not delaying it. Maybe the thing Ed (or Ben) mentioned finally being able to do was a fully surprise release that involves a delayed physical release. Maybe the record label finally said she could release without absolutely having to have a vinyl for week 1 sales?? I love that our first nugget of info in weeks does nothing but confuse the situation even more. To be fair the confusion is the one thing you can truly rely on in this fandom, and when you make peace with that it becomes much less stressful to be a lana stan.
  2. How are we supposed to feel?? I wonder if he’ll spill about the scrapped stuff??
  3. I can’t wait for Olivia rodrigos new album blue banisters

    Lorde

I like all the elements except for the lyrics. The build to the end is nice. I definitely don’t hear Venice Bitch or Mac in this at all, maybe a teensie bit of Daddy’s Home, but the vibe gives me much more like early 2000’s Sheryl Crowe (with worse lyrics).
  5. the power of Lanaboards can bring absolutely anything, except that one thing: lana to give accurate dates

    Lorde

Lorde copying RHCP I see I actually like the cover it gives me ray of light a bit
  7. this album really is it. Its stunning. All the songs are great but delicious things WHEW im pretty sure I saw something mentioning wolf Alice being inspired by the production of Ultraviolence at some point, and I can kinda feel that here.
  8. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think this was exactly the way she wanted us to feel regarding this release. Maybe it’s her way of getting back at all the crazy stans who bug her and everyone associated with her online.
  9. Truthfully I did not expect anything to happen today, but I do think much more is in store in the coming days and weeks so in the end we will all win!!
  10. kind of agree... it feels the least essential of the songs on UV
  11. it’s definitely a contender and probably my favorite song from the btd/paradise era. also, I usually shit on the second half of UV (at least sad girl-fmwuttt), but it’s actually pretty good. It definitely pales in comparison to the first 5 tracks (and old money and the other woman), which are god tier not only in regards to lana but just in popular music in general, but they are still good songs.
  12. So I decided to listen to all her albums in full again and I’ve only gotten though BTD>PARADISE>UV so far but I have to say, it really cemented Gods and Monsters and absolutely one of her best songs, and I realized how much an impact it made on me as a younger fella. When she sings “gods dead I said baby that’s alright with me. No ones gonna take my soul away” that really made me feel ok with myself back when I was grappling with the fact I was gay and also had pretty religious upbringing through my grandma who is one of my closest relatives. its such an anthem
  13. Literally all her opening tracks are iconic and near perfect born to die cruel world honeymoon love norman fucking rockwell white dress such a strong set of songs and they all perfectly set the tone for the records that follow
  14. Thissssss. We need more improvisational, stream of conscious songwriting.
  15. She should make her boys for pele. Lots of wailing and anger and fire.
  16. Blue Banisters has some her best vocals on it as well.
  17. Just dropping in to say the only “cheap” sounding song of the new 3 is Wildflower Wildfire. The midi piano does cheapen it a bit, and the vocal effects are a little weird. The song is still a good song, though and the synths leading up to the last chorus are heaven. The other two sound rich and full and expensive. I can’t tell if the piano in BB is midi or not because it’s more minimal and it’s also just a better produced song so if it is in fact midi it’s hidden well, her vocals are clean and crisp and the synths in the background are lush and beautiful. Just because it’s not got a lot of bells and whistles that doesn’t mean it isn’t well executed or lacking something. Text Book is great, I just wish the gospel choir was a little louder because they are a serve. Bb and tb are aural heaven, ww is a great song with some odd choices that do not ruin the song at all, but make it less pleasant overall than the other 2. obviously it’s my opinion but you can hate bb for being “minimalistic and piano heavy” but you can’t say it’s poorly produced or mixed wrong, it sounds clean and exactly as it’s meant to. edit: upon further meditation, i recognize that wealth and money are the greatest cancer to infect humanity in its existence and only serve to further destroy the probability of eventually living in a peaceful world so I must retract the assertion that the songs sound “expensive” since that means literally nothing “good” and only further perpetuates the insidious trajectory that money and the establishment has sent humanity spiraling toward
  18. It’s not that not liking something she does isnt ok, it’s just acting like she’s a has been and that her work is not art or that it is a “failure” because you do not like it that I’m talking about. Not everyone who isn’t into these songs feels this way, but some people seem to and that energy seeps into every corner of this site and it just becomes an unenjoyable experience. Some of the criticism feels rooted in anger or aggression, and criticism doesn’t and shouldn’t have to be like that. I hope she makes music that everyone can connect to at some point! I do! and I guess ultimately, I should not let myself get emotionally invested in other peoples opinions, so I shall cease to comment upon them. Everyone should be able to feel what they are feeling!
  19. @Max and I don’t hate you! I certainly think you are one of the most constructive critics!
  20. Blue Bannisters IS one of her best songs ever, Text Book IS a lovely girl and Wildflower Wildfire IS cute. Y’all have the attention span of 5 year olds. if the entire album had the energy of Blue Banisters it WOULD be a masterpiece. it’s like I get u want her to give u pop. U want to shake your ass to her songs, but there’s like a thousand other artists that you can do that to, just let lana make the art she wants to make. I’m not saying constructive criticism isn’t good it’s just most of your criticism is baseless and more about what you think you deserve as fans
  21. Of course there is plenty of time for this prerelease to turn into a drawn out mess, but as of now things seem promising. We already got 3 long songs, which in prerelease singles talk is something that would normally be spread over a couple of months. She’s obviously not keen on saying much about what’s going on, but it does feel intentional, and perhaps planned out at this point. I bet we get the album this summer.
  22. Yeah I don’t hate that cover tbh. I do think she genuinely looks great in that pic and that makes it look *almost* professionally done
  23. Blue Banisters when she tells Jenny she can’t remember where those dried flowers are from but then she secretly whispers Oklahoma to herself because she remembers exactly where those flowers are from powerful stuff
