Of course there is plenty of time for this prerelease to turn into a drawn out mess, but as of now things seem promising. We already got 3 long songs, which in prerelease singles talk is something that would normally be spread over a couple of months. She’s obviously not keen on saying much about what’s going on, but it does feel intentional, and perhaps planned out at this point. I bet we get the album this summer.

Blue Banisters when she tells Jenny she can’t remember where those dried flowers are from but then she secretly whispers Oklahoma to herself because she remembers exactly where those flowers are from powerful stuff

I feel this is pretty divisive but her lyrics now are MILES more deep and intricate than they were on her first few albums. It blows my mind some people look at the lyrics to Blue Banisters and the Lyrics to say, Summertime Sadness (a song I love tbh) and think she’s taken a lyrical nosedive.

After sitting with these songs for over a day, I have to say I do love them all. Blue Banisters might be my favorite, followed closely by Text Book (those gospel choirs my god they add so much), and Wildflower Wildfire (still good, but not as godly as the other two). I can’t help but feel like the majority of people are projecting their opinions of her on their opinions of these songs because it makes literally no sense to consider them “bad”. Some of the critiques I’ve read are absolutely senseless. (Apart from the mastering which could be a lil better, and the Black Lives Matter line, which I don’t find issue with but I understand why some people think it feels a little weird)

The fact that Jared aka @Jack Antonoff is a God is here for these songs speaks volumes. A day to remember y’all. blue bannisters is a fucking masterpiece and I’m about to get really high and write an essay review on why it’s pure fact.

I’m still annoyed as hell at the album of the year scores. Tasteless fools the lot!

Imma need people to gas these singles up on album of the year because it’s mostly tasteless rats giving these songs bad scores at the moment

I mean we always won in the end with the music, but this time do we get to just enjoy every second of the ride??? I was just thinking earlier that it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if this week went by with nothing but silence and now we are likely getting 3 songs (all with titles I really like). The only acceptable Madonna vibez for Lana would be Ray of Light vibezzz. The unequalled best Madonna era. Something like frozen would be amazing.

I totally get those who hate it, but I also am really enjoying it? Like it’s fully referential to sounds from the late 60’s and the 70’s and doesn’t do much to really modernize those references, but it’s very comforting on some level and undoubtedly beautiful. It’s got enough sonic and lyrical references that it reminds you of the other things you love, and in turn becomes one of those things itself. Honestly, it’s another welcome turn in St. Vincent’s ever shifting sonic pallet. Besides, with St. Vincent you can expect something totally different with every record and I’m sure whatever she does next will be a very different experience. lana thought: Live in the Dream is 100% how lana should be produced. It’s magical.

New song either tonight at midnight or tomorrow at midnight (because I guess technically midnight will in fact be tomorrow and the following midnight will be the next day), her wording could be interpreted either way lol. It’ll be nice to have both petrol Bloom and limbo cherry to combine them and make a whole Album out of it

The most perfect use of her voice is in that live performance of disco that she does at that little club. Those are the vocals we need on blue banisters. I really hope she doesn’t go back to the deep velvety stuff on BTD because it’s never sounded good live and in part why I think the start of her career was a little rocky. She was always trying to sing outside of her most comfortable range and why studio cuts like Million Dollar Man are so processed sounding (even if the song is good she sounds like a computer wailing).

Their new record is pretty good. It’s very dreamy.

A reliable insider he may be but he literally said nothing yesterday of value. Said it might be delayed and then clarified that it also might not be and that it’s pure speculation. Said no ones guessed what is coming correctly and that he can’t believe she’s actually going forward with this album, and then says it’s not necessarily about the sound of the music. So what then??? No one argues about her lyrics! She can sing about whatever the fuck she wants to, it’s the style of music people get so up in arms about. im simultaneously over the insider stuff but also it’s keeping momentum up in this thread so
