Congrats guys! You’ll be great! -
I choose to live for the title. magdalene was an absolute triumph so I cannot wait to see what she does next
-
Right where you left me is one the best tracks from both records hands down
-
Yeah we need to wait till things simmer down a bit.

Yeah I’m annoyed she shouldn’t post anything because I want her to, but she really shouldn’t. These trump motherfuckers have to ruin everything, always. I can’t.

this is one my least favorite strings of Lana tracks. I understand why people like them but I could never hear Salvatore, the blackest day, 24 hours, and Swan song ever again and I’d be fine. It’s why honeymoon isn’t her magnum opus for me. i feel the same way about the run of sad girl, pretty when you cry, money power glory, and fucked my way. The first 5 tracks of UV are perfect and then those 4 are just ordered in the complete worst order and it ruins the magic of the first half. Pretty when you cry is great but next to sad girl doesn’t impact enough and then mpg and fmwuttt are so similar and boring to me. Old money is of course legendary so it whips things back into shape. this is all why NFR is without a doubt my favorite Lana album as a whole. There are like 3 songs that I could do without but it’s not an entire half of the record.

"American Standards & Classics" Cover Album - Pre-Pre-Release Thread
domandapiano replied to Elle's topic in New Releases
I love the idea of a covers album but not necessarily one of overdone standards from the great American songbook. Obviously it’s all down to song selection, but if they are all as obvious as summertime I’m not that interested. Omg u know what song I wanna hear that I have a zero percent chance of ever hearing done by Lana but would fit nicely on this project?? The river song from night of the hunter. It’s so mystical and pretty and eerie. Honestly I want an entire album of Lana singing eerie swirly cinematic beauties like this. -
I got to the part where he starts singing “2020 how about you go and fvck yourself “ and then had to turn it off because I can’t afford the shit my housemates would give me if I listened to the rest.

How do you think COCC is going to be received by everyone?
domandapiano replied to neonchemtrails's topic in Lana Thoughts
I think it could really go either way. I’m hoping for Chemtrails to be warmly received. She’s been on a steady incline in the critics eyes, and then shot through the roof with NFR. It would have to be really bad for them to rip it to shreds at this point, considering everybody praised the last record so much and it would call to question their own opinions I think.- 27 replies

this has nothing to do with this album but since it’s not coming I guess that’s ok. The other woman is her best album cover we been knew. That’s all I wanna say. -
Really the only track on evermore I skip regularly is No Body No Crime (just a lil bland imo). Everything else (even closure) is great to enjoyably decent. The absolute bests are gold rush, tolerate it, ivy, cowboy like me, long story short, Marjorie (what a sequence right there tbh), and evermore (bon iver is great in the song and his signature falsetto is so much better than the deep voice in exile).

In the event that this does actually happen.... BLACK IS THE COLOR BLACK IS THE COLOR BLACK IS THE COLOR BLACK IS THE COLOR BLACK IS THE COLOR BLACK IS THE COLOR BLACK IS THE COLOR I would kill to hear her sing this song. If anyone is unfamiliar listen to the Nina Simone or the Cara Dillon versions. Both are totally different but amazing all together. -

The way she announced the mv/preorder early so people would be hyped and forget she ever mentioned this record. Lol. -

She did say it was a Christmas gift. If this doesn’t come out this month, I’d say it’s fair to say it’s been unofficially delayed or it’s been scrapped. -

The great American songbook! Songs from the earlier part of the 20th century that are culturally significant and have stood the test of time! Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter are all examples of artists who wrote songs featured in the great American songbook. Both Summertime and You’ll Never Walk Alone fall into this category, though I don’t think that means either of them will be on the record.
