I honestly don't think it's about Lorde because it's too recent and all of her songs are rooted into things that happened in the past. I mean Lana is almost 30, Lorde is 17, what kinda grown ass woman would pick on a 17 year old ? especially in these circumstances. Lorde changes her opinions every other week anyway.
The only reasonable assumption would be that it's about Gaga, since it's the only "beef" she's ever had with anyone (So legit, I mean c'mon)+ the interviewer brought her up in another question before this one, which I think made her a little more fired up + the whole "art" comment.

If you think Lorde's music is similar to Lana's music in anyway, you're kind of really wrong. They sing about really different things, and Lorde's comment about Lana is viable and she even admitted multiple times that she enjoys Lana's music and visuals, even quoting her as a caption of an Instagram post or something like that. I don't think it's Lorde, and if it's her, then I think Lana's being extremely petty about it-- the only thing Lorde's said about Lana was the feminism thing.

Yeah, a huge topic. I’ve always felt confident about my music. Who doesn’t have to say anything cannot create pop music. I already know that later I’ll tell the whole story of my live to my children on the basis of my songs.
Like you do in “Fucked My Way UP To The Top” on your new album?
It’s about a singer who first sneered about my allegedly not authentic style but later she stole and copied it. And now she’s acting like I am the art project and she the true super artist. My God and people actually believe her, she’s successful! I shouldn’t continue ranting, it doesn’t get anywhere.

What else are you going to tell your children (and us)?
I used to be a member of an underground sect which was reigned by a guru. He surrounded himself with young girls and he had this insane charisma I couldn’t resist as well. So I was in this, I’ll call it sect, because I was longing for love and security. But then I found out that this guru wasn’t a good but a bad person. He thought that he had to break people first before he could build them up again. At the end I left the sect.

Why do you believe this?
Well, I threw anchors. But I have to find out how to harmonize the urge for – emotional and literal – solid ground beneath the feet with my ambition of moving on as an artist. Right now I have no plan how this should work out.
So no children for now?
I would be ready! (laughs) But Barrie is younger than me and he isn’t in the mood for children yet.
You worked as a model for H&M and Mulberry. Do you know what the fashion branch sees in you?
Phew, I don’t know! As an indie singer in New York I couldn’t afford any stylish or expensive clothes at all. Probably my face was just coincidentally at the right time at the right place. And how does the saying tell? Go there where it’s warm.

Regarding the feminist comment: I think she was trying to say that she just sees feminism as fighting for freedom, and since she feels free personally, she's not interested in it any more. Emphasis on "I think" as that's just my own personal take on her answer.
 
Anyway, I found that to be a very interesting read! It was quite personal and close. Hopefully Lana will be able to sort out her ailment swiftly and properly because she really has not seemed too happy lately despite trying her hardest to appear as such.

honestly i don't know why you all started with the Beyonce thing, but now that i think about it it kinda makes sense as to why. What I had in mind wasn't even something that highly produced lol. like, maybe during an interview somebody would just go with her over the songs, maybe not even all of them, just the ones she considers more "important". that would be enough for me i would just like to hear her take on everything, but a little more detailed than what she has already said about the album overall. No but you guys really do too much about her lyrics. A verse like "Do you like my fake nails, daddy? / Black palm tree, pink tiger stripes / Used to go to the Comfort Inn, yeah / Will you buy me a slice of cherry pie?" would get ripped to shreds if we'd never heard it and it popped up in 2014 with her deep ass voice and big lips. But no she wuz Lizzy she wuz poor how cute she tried then (?). Not to say Paradise doesn't have some shit lyrics but Brooklyn Baby is not the battle to fight

If she does, it shouldn't be like what Beyonce did with releasing everything at once, I think it would be a lot more thrilling if it were a new video every few weeks/months until the UV era is over.
