the second picture is HORRIFIC bc of the angle but the other ones are pretty sweet actually, she looks very different to the UV shoots + a lot more "tropical", which is what im hoping Honeymoon to be like

you're looking like a man but you're talking like a baby...

It's cute she's basing her opinion of Lana as a whole off what, the Ride music video and a couple bad quotes? I'm sure it'll be tough on Lana considering who it's coming from though, especially considering how close Kim and Kurt were. I'm wondering if this has anything at all to do with the fact that Kim hates Courtney Love too and Lana happens to be doing a tour with her.

Hmm, I really wanted to write something more thoughtful after coming home while tryiing to give this woman a chance. Sadly, as many others have stated she is taking it to Twitter for attention.
And it is a stunt to sell her book. She clearly knows that many feminists (the sex-negative ones and the older generation) are not too keen on Lana and that Lana has a big following of fans and haters.

This is actually not bad for Lana. She makes the experience that a petty woman whose hey-days are long gone now tries to make some cash with her name.
And how very petty she is when she calls the men "older ugly guys", where you would think that a feminst is more interest in things that are not so superficial like "beauty". Let's not even talk about the fact that it is not really a comment that stands for equality of the sexes either. Besides that; I really wanna see the good looking guys she has dated over the years. Really eager to know.

It's funny that she is coming for Lana and not women like Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears or Rihanna, but no, she choses to come for Lana instead.
This is something I have claimed all the way when the feminist attacks started on Lana and I have zero problems repeating it: they fear and disrespect a beautiful woman who is talented enough to make her own music and rises to stardom in a field that is more alternative than pop. This is their worst nightmare.

Well, it ended up being longer than I thought, but I don't have the nerve right now to post more.

is lana just low hanging fruit or do people genuinely have this much of a problem with her?

Haha, so what she said was essentially "she does't even know what feminism is, she can't just do anything she wants as a woman! I will also tell another woman to kill themselves because they are troubled enough to have used/use drugs and have a mental illness (depression)".

Edit: Apparently, sleeping with who you want is UNFEMINIST! Kim should stop calling the kettle black.

Edit: Her twitter is full of this Lana saga, she retweets people saying 'You go girl! I am SO buying this book now!'

The motives are clear as day.

I hope that Lana's interest in surrealist lyrics (and the reference to Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds) means that she will retain the psychedelic rock sound. She's great at combining genres and I could definitely see Honeymoon being a hybrid of jazz and psych-rock/dream pop.

From The Big Karmic picture paragraph on I thought this interview was rather refreshing. She opened up a little bit more about how she ticks, what she likes, and what we should expect from Honeymoon. I find it's very rare that she offers new information as most of her interviews are just rehashes of things she's been saying since 2012. Wish this would have been a jumping off point in the interview as opposed to being the intro to such a short section of "new" info. Also,

WOW! I absolutely adore this. I can't stop replaying it - it has that jazz sound of hers I love. I also always adore her layered harmonies. So haunting and beautiful.

  17. SoftcoreBabyface liked a post in a topic by whitman in Why do you like Lana Del Rey?
I like her because somehow she is related with a lot of things that I like - and even in  more strange way I can relate somehow with her lyrics. First of all, I am cinephile and completely obsessed with David Lynch ( and it was because a Lynch article that I first heard about her), so when I first watched the first version of Blue Jeans I was completely mesmerized. The footages clips and her songs it was such an amazing mix ( and THAT face and THAT lips) that I couldn't even explain - seriously it was like love for the first time, I spend weeks looking for all the videos she used for VG, Kinda Outta Luck and BJ and reading everything about her. So this cinematic thing - from her persona to the videos - it was what really made me like her.

*Lyrically, I think she plays a character in mostly of her songs and I totally could see her like a character out of a Bukowski novel mixed with an Fietzgerald bored teenager. And her whole "Lolita lost in the hood" act it was really interesting, specially as someone who really loves Lolita ( the novel). So for me she was like an personification of these influences ( that maybe don't make sense for anyone else but for me does and that's why her songs sounds so special to me).

And finally, Born To Die came out in a very trouble time for me and her songs was the only thing that made me happy those days, I've lost someone I loved and how mostly of her songs are about lost  I felt nostalgic listening to them.
