I like it, you're all complaining "Low budget, low budget" Get over yourselves, we're getting a video for Brooklyn Baby and Pretty When You Cry too, so go cry. We'll have more videos. She's in a goddamn wedding dress, people, really. Get over it. Omfg, you're lucky to have 5 (and hopefully more) videos for a record she was unsure about releasing this time last year. Seriously. If she doesn't wanna make a video that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, its her choice to make, not fan-choice.
I, for one, actually like the snippet we got. At least she's working on this record and who knows, we could end up with multiple videos for songs. Has everyone already forgotten last era? Who knows what we'll get for the record.

Ha. "People". That is impressive vagueness. But I don't really care. I'm just glad she's finally acknowledging it. But this makes me suspect Brian Hiatt's been reading our forum even more. "Shaving off". I've used that phrase to describe this at least once.
I think she's probably conflating a couple things here. Both Gaga and Lana played consecutive new writer showcases at the Cutting Room put on by the Songwriter's Hall of Fame (SHOF) which Bob Leone worked for as Projects Director. The Monday night lineups she's referring to were probably Monday night open mics at Makor that were also put on by the SHOF. You can see more about those gigs in the "Early Shows" section.
Regarding Axl Rose:
Wow. It's truly fascinating that one of the most subtly written portrayals of a problematic relationship in modern pop music may be accidental, the writer not self-conscious of it.
Paging @@FormerLanaFan.
I would love a Buzzfeed-style "Cunt-ries of the World" map of what Barrie imagines each nation's delicacies taste like.
She sheds more light on her relationship with a record label exec:
It's almost like she wants us to figure it out.
Who knew dry-humping jokes were the way to a woman's heart? (Skip to 3:46.)
Yo, Franco, I'm really happy for you, I'ma let you finish... but Barrie-James was one of the best boyfriends of all time. One of the best of all time!

It's really rude of you guys to talk bad about Barrie yet you're glorifying relationships where her exes let her turn to drugs. Their relationship had to be great enough to talk about having kids and being married but for now that's not happening. Give Barrie the same respect you give Lana.

On a side note, I find it interesting how the album starts off with the lyrics "Shared my body and my mind with you" and ends with "Will spend her life alone, Alone" (from "The Other Woman" the way she envisioned it.)

The Beautiful Coincidence Of Lana Del Rey, Mark Mahoney, Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, & Urban Noize
The coincidence that this gentlemen Mark Mahoney who is featured on Lana Del Rey’s video for West Coast during the car driving scenes, served as both Biggie and Pac’s tattoo artist who originally started his business in Brooklyn. & The fact that i decided to add Biggie on our remix to her West Coast record without even knowing any of this. Crazy & remarkable.

Out of all these snippets, I'm mostly excited for the Old Money, Money Power Glory, and Florida Kilos . At first I was kinda bummed that Lana was moving away from the lux sound of BTD, but damn-- the guitar and underground band vibes I'm getting from UV sounds promising.

I'm sorry, but we have to stop with this "social worker" thing. It's a profession which requires years and years of schooling, in Canada, a 4-year degree. Point is, you have to reach certain qualifications and have certain certificates, and you undergo intense practicums and counsellor training.
Lana is NOT a social worker. She did volunteer work, but is in no way a social worker.
If you trip and fall and have a gash on your knee and your mom puts on a bandaid on, does that make her a doctor? NO. Your friend comes to you to confide and work out their problems. Does that make you a psychologist? NO.
It's really not any different. Doctors work incredibly hard to meet their qualifications, as do social workers. It's disrespectful to their achievements and work when you undermine their profession by slapping a label onto anyone that does anything that vaguely resembles their career. Christ.

Oh the pitfalls of being a celebrity.
Lana has a lot of patience. This was cringe-worthy but she handled it well.

she sings this so beautifully live. The spoken part is reminiscent of the live version of Carmen when she starts speaking spanish.. ugh it's my favorite!
She's back into reinventing many of her old songs into her new sound this era, which is pretty much the only thing that has changed. I'm soOoO happy that she's pulling from LDRAKALG though

MafiosiPrincessa liked a post in a topic by Jazzmin in Little Lana things which you find funny or amusing
I take "Cola" more literaly, I mean, I kinda like the way Lana sings about her taste for older men. But I quite agree with you when it comes to the form, it DOES have some features of a parody and of a good parody, I'd say.
Generally, what I find amusing about Lana is her ability to kinda laugh out herself. She knows what people say about her and although she does not get easily influenced by them, she doesn't think herself perfect either and can reckon about some opinions if they're right. "I never have to work 'cause my daddy is rich", for example. People are bitching about Lana's rich pa (which in some enigmatic way is supposed to be an argument justifing that her music isn't good o_O ) and what Lana does? She agrees "oh yes, I am that spoilt I-have-everything girl". Probably I'm crazy to find it amusing but whatewa ^^ . Also in songs like "Without You" where "they all think I have it all", in fact it's sad but the sentence does make me smile every time I listen to it... She isn't unhappy for no reason and she really shows she's grateful for what she has, and it isn't really her fault, all those things that happen to her mind. She's honest and simpathetic.

this is my favorite site tbh; they ship directly from korea and sell the weirdest / cutest shit for relatively decent prices. they used to sell that "raising hell" tank top that lana had, and they have a lot of clothing thats very similar in vein to the clothing she generally wears
this is almost identical to that outfit she wore to the american idol performance / nicole nodland shoot, also similar to the dress she wore out house shopping:
this is similar to the skirt she's been wearing lately, but even cuter imo cause of the lighter shade of denim and frayed hems
i could totally see her wearing something like this
or this
the prices are kind of all over the place. like that third dress is $30 but the doors tee is $40? they mostly sell from their own house brand but also sell other korean brands too i think, which might explain it. they don't sell mens clothing but a lot of the stuff is unisex tbh, i buy lots of sweatshirts with like, weird fuzzy sleeves and i just bought this recently; its like a t-shirt made out of two separate varsity jerseys? bizarre but i love it tbh
lmao this doesn't necessarily look like something she'd wear (although i wouldn't be surprised if she did) but its very cute; looks similar to something raf simons did a few seasons ago, but the characters actually kind of look like lana:

This article is originally in Czech so I ran the text through the rarely accurate but always helpful Google Translate.
Here's the rough translation:
Interview with Lana Del Rey was twice canceled literally at the last minute, it worked the third time. Fears of a meeting with an asterisk zpovykanou(?) and its quirks but were ultimately unfounded. In his hotel suite Prague Hilton me about two hours before the event on Electronic Beats conquered the Czech audience welcomed the sweet and smiling young woman in shirt and jeans, which you could not help but notice two things: that it is extremely beautiful and the barefoot.

She doesn't have to completely change key things about herself, like her image and what inspires her, to have moved forward sonically with the new album. I think the pictures are quite naturally gorgeous and support the "stripped down yet beautiful" description she gave her new music.
