Daddy AF is... groundbreaking. I wish the chorus went a bit harder with bass or whatever idk but it's still THAT BITCH Can't rank the songs but I'm glad she's on the right patch <3 Also no idea but is Slayyyter trans or cis? Just wondering also the way she wants the past buried. Hope it's no mean question.

Everyone who's been at the show mention that everything works pretty good live. Wish I could see this next year but Marina seems to be like "is it done yet?" so lel. I like the dancers and choreo thing. Sounds like a breathe of fresh air into her old show dynamics.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW (BIG SHOUT) I'm just here waiting til it finally leaks and the main difference is a uglier vocal take and no voocoder but the beat being almost the same with minor changes. Also I think the Karma snippets (at least the ones I heard) aren't really from a demo? she mentioned the song being redone and the snippets sounded pretty much the same from the final (the guitar break on the chorus etc).

She did a really nice interview with Rolling Stones https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/carly-rae-jepsen-new-album-dedicated-827482/ Nothing much at all but there's a title track for the record that didn't make the cut. LEAK IT.

I'm stuck between wishing we could go back 3 months ago talking about EH X FROOT X TFJ or relieved that L+F couldn't top her best album to keep these discussions going nn But for real, even thought a little letdown, at least "FEAR" feels great. It has some "depth" that's not part of "LOVE" or whatever. Now if the demos leak... well that would be cool. It feels like Marina wants the whole thing to be done already so lol.
-
Listened to "FEAR" It doest sound way more interesting than Love. Production and lyric wise. Still no Marina & The Diamonds good, but I found it better than most of the LOVE songs.
-
I scream that everytime I check this there are issues and issues because the record is bad. Like... yes... but oh well. still lookin forward to listen to "FEAR"
-
Hermit the Frog is really THAT song isn't it? "An ExploooooooOoOoOsion comes in TiiiiiiiiiIiIiIiImeeEee Before I go and cross the line" I felt that

Underdog is old but so amazing ugh. I hope the new record will have some killer moments like Underdog.
-
She's still retweeting random lists placing downhill lullaby as a standout so we have to wait longer n I guess she's giving a little more time before the next thing so she can say more about the album. She's still writing things....

I fucking screamed The funny part is that if we check it back for real, she had some "indie-press" from Toronto Scene by her side. There are many articles about her Allie Hughe days. She wasn't just "no one" at all. Feels much more that she didn't have a management, hence third-scrapped-record and lack of bigger success as an "alt. pop-girl"... The thing is that she really wanted to reboot and start from the zero in a "popstar" field. She moved LA, changed her sound, etc etc etc (and I believe she's happier now). I feel that, right now, she's being herself more than ever. She's not relying on any "artifice" (the mysterious persona with theatric from Clx I), she's no longer trend-chasing after a sound trying to fit into radio and\or playlists (clx ii) and seems to be doing things for fun and trying to convey with the idea of popstar. I don't think it sound forced (not that it ever did, but def. feels lighter now and her, as a persona, feels much more connected with the public and way more enjoyable even if a bit obnoxious sometimes.) I agree that, most of the time, it's a mess. it's a giant mess. But feels like many things are so out of her hands. I really hated the strategy for supersunset singles, but then I read few days ago how she mentioned that releasing singles before the album was\is the only way to try to catch people's attention, because once the album is out, the campaign if basically done (and you can see this in recent days with A-List popstars, how people will release 3 singles before the official record and then like 1 once it's finally out. People are no longer interested in promoting something once it's finally out, it's all about hyping it up). So, I see that releasing one song per month was her way of trying to chase some attention and letting every song have "it's moment" to shine. For sure, as a full experience, I would be full blown to listen Science -> Girl of the Year back to back into the album, but how many people would be really interested in "Oh the X girl released a new album, let me check it in full" if she could just single drop every song and "Oh there's a new song every month and her last one was a killer, let me hear this new one". Just sound way more plausible.

I think she's the type that will explode and then "damn I overreacted lol bye" Reminds me of when people leaked the analog\cassette tape files nnnnn
-
Deep Down I wonder if Allie is "fuming" with the whole Madonna project with "X". Of course she's no creator of alphabet but it feels odd. And after that interview about True Love is Violent being rejected by Madge.... In the end it would sound like "KERLI SAYS LADY GAGA IS COPYING HER HAIR COLOR" but I don't think Allie would get that bitter. INB4: MADONNA - MATERIAL X (FEAT ALLIE X)

So I really wanted to read around 20 pages of what you guys said about the record but I'm honestly a bit down over it. Not bad as I thought It could be, but definely a letdown. End of the Earth and To Be Human are the ones for me.
-
But she also gave up on that, that's why she's releasing music to keep her M!LLIONAIREZ$$$ status nnn

The whole "Double Album" thing is still pretty blurry in my head. IF it wasn't for the lq 3 seconds of "You" and Emotional Machine (Live), I would believe that Fear could be a totally different record from Love. Like, really, a different record packed with the other. Something like The Fame\The Fame Monster or Animal\Canniball. Both records have the same "root" that's dance-pop but they really go for different genres all over (yet, are still connected). But for the teasers we have from Fear so far... It really doesn't sound too different. I mean, people were calling "You" a Troye Sivan demo back then and I can hear it. Nothin wrong with it at all, but I just don't believe that Fear will be a redemption over Love. They'll probably just sound the same, but at least Fear could be more "Marina" with themes and songwritting. emotional machine lyrics were bad already BUT LET'S WAIT AND SEE. Just as I mentioned before, the record will probably work as a whole but not with "singles".

Maybe this is all "fourth album" curse. Can we count it as 4+5 tho? nn

I went to the sideshow\neon nature date and god... I almost gave up halfway there because a big storm was coming up and my anxiety was attacking. Glad I didn't give up since there was no rain for the rest of the night (and it was the night of my life)
-
Ok she melted my heart just by saying my city's name and using it as a caption on Instagram after my thought that she probably hated São Paulo after raining EVERY DAY while she was here and the whole city looking like Atlantis
-
I have..........some strong mixed feelings about the idea of her dropping one song per-week til the release............. 2015-me would have loved this. But I kinda learnt how this can end up... limiting the "impact" of listening to the full body of work. No idea of what she's doing for fear, but I expect at least one music video for it since she sounded so confident about it being a real double album and 2 different albuns etc.
-
I, honestly, need Daddy af because after she posted the snippet (even the one you couldn't hear shit) IT KEEPS POPPING EVERY NOW AND THEN IN MY HEAD AND I JUST RANDOMLY GO DOWN EVERY TIME.
-
Orange Trees could be one her best song if this was her debut album. Maybe this is the "MARINA" (not the diamonds) fantasy about. Rebranding for a debut that people will actually listen to on the release date.
-
I believe her upcoming single was chose not long ago (and it doesn't even sound like she's really doing "LEAD SINGLE!1111" thing after that tweet saying she wanted to make a music video for the song). It's been messy for a while since it was pretty confirmed she shot a video for Guardian back in 2015, she teased another video later and mentioned that she was working on a thing for Voices Carry (doing a Lana-Chai and reediting a song that was meant to be for another one). The way she teased this, it sounds like the song\video is new\done not long ago. I remember reading but maybe hallucinating that the 2 singles thing was called Fire\Love Street. Maybe they're some of the pop songs she feel confident enough to save for later.
-
So, after hating not really feeling all the songs she released, I realized they really vibe together (I've been playing Orange Trees for the last hour. It isn't groundbreaking but I would say it's... inoffensive. Cute chorus). I'm probably fucking the tracklist up tho. since It's playing Orange -> Superstar and I think it's the other way around and my mind won't wrap around it once the album comes out in full.
