The whole point of releasing a single is that it is one of the most stand out tracks of a record being pushed to the public to promote the album - so saying to give it a chance because it’ll sound better within the album doesn’t actually matter because it has failed in its job as being a single. Nobody new to Lorde’s music is going to hear SATNS and pre-order the album. A single is supposed to bring in new people, and keep existing fans excited. This has failed at both imo.

Don’t get it twisted, I totally don’t want another Pure Heroine or Melodrama, but I wanted a mature, introspective 70s/80s inspired groovy sounding album like the title track promised - not fake-deep 60s/70s folk. Lorde deserves better than to sound like she’s singing Lana’s scraps.

Hope is a Dangerous thing to have Wild at Heart and Stoned at the Nail Salon - but I have it (so tell me How to Disappear)
  4. I wouldn’t be mad at this tbh! Especially with all the indie pop girlies releasing albums rn I think it would be wise to leave her release until it’s quietened down a little bit. September would be perfect IMO and it’s not that long away, if she spaces out the promo correctly.
  5. Metallic colour vinyl is risky and tricky to get right, it can turn out really good or really bad (see the Punisher gold variant, which literally looks like baby doodoo)
  6. This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the cover, both this and her Paradise cover
  7. Yeah there’s so many unreleased I think I’d be disappointed in the tracklist because she’d probably put her most well known ones on it
  8. To make up for this she can release her 2nd poetry album, unreleased songs album, as&c album, country album with Nikki, did I miss anything ? Also I haven’t been on in a while did I miss something? The album isn’t called BB anymore? But anyways I’m manifesting a preorder link tomorrow ?????
  9. Imagine if the reason she changed Rock Candy Sweet to Blue Banisters was punishment for all the COCC puns I only thought of this because I was about to post "Norman Fucking Rockwell's Rock Candy Sweet COCC!" as a joke but then I was like... I wonder
  10. we never see the betrayal coming, ma'am clearly doesn't think like this
  11. I wish BB had been a stand alone EP (the three singles in one project together, not just released at the same time) and RCS could then have been the album
  12. I don't think it's a strong closer, and just I think the last lines sung in her album should really have been sung at least in part by her. It's a good track but should have been higher up on the list.
