Not too much detail, but the album is just what she said it is. It's low key, sleepy, piano-based and meandering. Clearly this is the kind of record she wanted to make right now. There's a shout-out to Joni Mitchell and Mitchel's early LA era. Maybe LDR's gotten to the point like (the admittedly much older) Kate Bush did in 2011, where she no longer feels obligated or interested in turning out 3-minute-ish pop songs.
 
Tori Amos has been producing NFR-like, piano-based gems like 'Indian Summer,' 'Garlands' and 'Oscar's Theme' for a decade, but then tacking them onto 'banger' albums as b-sides or as video bonuses, where few can find them. By doing this, she's shooting herself in the foot and almost condemning some of her best work to obscurity. Songs aren't ever going to make 'the Great American Song book' if few ever hear them.  
 
So I'm glad LDR did just what she wanted here. I especially like Bartender. 

I listend to the "new" version and it's ok. The only annoying thing is the "fame" echo in the instrumental.

About the leak, as I've said before here--c'mon. It's 2019. Everything leaks.
 
LDR, Jack and Interscope, if they have any sophistication at all--and they do--expect/anticipate the album to leak. They're mentally and emotionally prepared.
 
It's not as if it they were planning to release it in late August and it was leaked in March or April. It leaked a few weeks before its release date, and if they were really concerned and really cared, then they would be ready to  rush release it the moment it leaked. And they apparently haven't done that. 
 
No fan is going to be happy with the LQ phone version. They're almost all going to buy the album regardless, less they don't care for it at all. 
 
So maybe $30 to $40 thousand has been lost to them, which is peanuts to them in the scheme of things. They're all millionaires many times over.

The album should’ve been dropped on all streaming services immediately after the leak yesterday. The fact that her team didn’t is shocking. There’s no sense of control what so ever ffs.
 
At least if they wasn’t prepared to do that, they could’ve dropped the double MV as a tempted distraction along with TG/FILY singles.
 
A full album leakage is rare these days and luckily it was only two weeks before the LP was officially released. It could’ve been a lot worse. The 13 year old kid was to blame as well as her grandparents for giving her the cassette in the first place. (Supposedly the grandparents had a hand in making the cassettes). She was stupid and naive. But let’s not pretend that Ben and Ed are free from fault either. If they did there job properly it would not of fully leaked in the first place.

lana really did mean it when she said sad girl shit, i think this is her most "depressing"   album yet actually, not only with the heartbreak songs but about the culture and the world ending this album really gets you thinking..

honestly what idiot leaks an album by recording the tracks on their phone.. you can upload cassettes onto a computer

MAC, VB and hope being buzz singles is such a funny way to put it.. who puts the buzz out a year before the release

i feel like im the only one who appreciates it but bartender is such a beautiful song its like if summer wine and bel air had a baby and the melody is so different from anything i've heard before and lyrically i think its the best on the album

i've noticed many songs on nfr have the same melody as lots of other songs is it another get free coincidence or is she actually sampling these songs

the fact that lana pretty much leaked cinnamon girl and happiness is a butterfly with snippets, i thought something unexpected would happen in hiab but it was pretty much everything we already heard
