A pop collab with two very different artists that actually got played on radio and had mainstream potential definitely made me more excited than a collab with an artist I hate and produced by my least favorite Lana producer who is very much a one-trick-pony and has served up her most boring and washed up projects 😂😂😂. I really wished that Lana stayed away from a mean girl like Taylor. Thank god I have her blocked on Spotify, so I won’t be able to listen to this song anyway.

So...I'm trying to figure out whether this is from 2010 or 2011. LanaBoards says 2010, Lanapedia says 2011. Is one version from 2010 and the other one from 2011 maybe? Help!!!

Being depressed =/= skinny Anti-depressants can actually promote weight gain. She was easily the most depressed during the Honeymoon era. She was dating Francesco and he cheated on her with Rita Ora’s sister just after they had decided on a house they were going to buy. Then the album dropped and you could tell she wasn’t all there. Barely any interviews, one small radio performance, no tour, barely any new visuals. I think she felt really lonely during that time cause she didn’t have her current friends and entourage. Her former friends had been distancing themselves from her and instead started hanging out with people like Taylor Swift. Not a great time for her. The album also didn’t seem particularly inspired and she has barely ever performed anything off of it live.

I guess it must be because I try to avoid TikToxic as much as possible but this sounds so fake and niche. Almost as if someone who likes Lana, Katy Perry and Hillary Duff (of all people) made this up. 😂😂

So apparently the people who enjoy her looks and music from that era the most are sexist and fatphobic? 💀 Okay gurl… I’d be lying if I said that I prefer how she used to look compared to now. That doesn’t mean that I think she’s fat nowadays or that she looks bad. You can weigh a little more or a little less and still be just as beautiful. But since we're on the topic of fat vs. skinny shaming, the latter is just as much a thing as the former and also quite problematic. On the other hand, saying that it’s okay to be severely obese or overweight or severely underweight and skinny is ALSO extremely problematic. Promoting an unhealthy lifestyle and body/beauty standard is just as bad as shaming people for how they look. I think there is definitely a middle way but some people have a hard time staying there and tend to shift to the extremes. Sadly, they are the ones who are usually the loudest.

Maybe that’s what it was originally for, yes. I have a feeling the videos she shoots without lip synching are the ones she usually reconsiders for a different purpose. I know this may be another conspiracy theory of mine but did no one else notice how perfectly the Shades of Cool video matches the lyrics of Cola? The whole story about being the mistress/side chick of an older guy. The pool scenes with her eating strawberries, the sleeping beauty scenes with the blooming flowers (imagery she used for the Cola backdrop as well) along with the black & white scenes from the West Coast video (the Cola backdrop used stormy palm trees before showing the arrival of spring with the blooming flowers). In my mind, she repurposed the mood board/concepts she had in mind for Cola (and we know damn well she wanted it as a single with a video) for West Coast/Shades of Cool.

That’s why I’m thinking that the video could actually be for Text Book rather than Blue Bannisters.

The Freak video is actually a re-edited version of the original Ultraviolence (and possibly Brooklyn Baby) video.

I had this idea of making dual albums for some of Lana’s albums or a B-Side album that is essentially an album of its own. And she didn’t even bother to record proper music videos for either 💀💀💀. NFR as an era was horrible. Especially if you’ve been a fan since BTD/P. She truly gave even less of a shit that era than she did during Honeymoon. Aesthetically it was also disappointing. The one thing Honeymoon had going on at least was the big set of beautiful graphics we got that era. The videos were recycled mostly but at least the photoshoots were gorgeous. NFR didn’t have more than one proper music videos, barely any good photoshoots and the tour was a reduced version of the previous one with very few NFR songs added to the setlist. What exactly was there to be nostalgic about? 💀
