Minor General Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
Cherry Blossom replied to Monicker's topic in Lana Thoughts
it was written in the earliest sessions for Ultraviolence, along with JFK, Black Beauty, Starry Eyed and Angels Forever. They sound sonically similar to Paradise however, so many group them with Paradise instead -

i honestly haven’t bothered to listen since release week. Pure Heroine will always be my favourite. maybe the other albums will become more significant to me as i grow older and experience what she’s singing about

changing my user to Karina Garcia the QUEEN of slime

i think Lover is good, not her best but it’s solid, like @tt1pdvinyl said, besides IFTYE and LB, and the 3 horrible singles it’s pretty great. the set list for the next tour, i can imagine taylor including: - cardigan - august - betty - dorothea - right where you left me - ivy - no body no crime - the last great american dynasty - mirrorball from folklore and evermore

@PatentLeatherDoOver I caught on right as Mariners was released, and I 100% agree. that rollout aged me 20 years. even thinking about it now, literally feels like the longest period of my life

i love Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz so fucking much. one of the reasons i’m such a big fan of Miley is that her music makes me feel so confident, and her attitude and heart reminds me that i can always be who i want and do whatever i want. listening to Dead Petz feels like an explosion of everything at once in my brain it’s literally a sensory overload… it’s perfect. i still remember the first day i listened to it and how i knew it would be one of my favourite albums ever. it really resonates with me

I don’t think it’s like a completely genius concept, it’s not a deep title or anything but I think it encapsulates the themes and imagery of Born To Die perfectly
-
Some of these have me gagged…. Lust For Life / Born To Die? Ultraviolence? to an extent I think National Anthem is good too, it evokes a sense of importance to the song, as if it’s the ‘new’ way of life that she’s singing about

love song insidious

song came up on my spotify radio and i’m obsessed with it likeeee omg get me a car right now so i can drive down the highway to thjs

i think Pawn Shop Blues is one of her saddest because it’s one of her earliest, and you can hear her uncertainty in having to pawn off possessions and lose people to get to where she wanted to be, and know what she wanted to know. She doesn’t sound entirely sure of herself, and partially regretful incase it doesn’t work out, but in the end, it did.

i knew i could trust you @Trash Magic

One of my favorite things about Lana's discography is her song titles. She is able to capture an essence, image or feeling in usually one word, that often isn't repeated throughout the song or even present in it. Songs like 'California', 'Yosemite', 'Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind', 'Cruel World' and 'Flipside' are so evidently Lana songs that from the title alone give a pretty good idea of the world and universe they exist within - and I think that's pretty awesome, not a lot of artists have such strong identifiable aesthetics. I also love how with songs such as 'Old Money', the title appears nowhere in the song but acts almost like a lyric, adding a layer of context to the story. My favorite Lana song titles are: - Nectar Of The Gods - Cruel World - Venice Bitch - Old Money
