honestly they should stop yearly releases. I understand it generates a ton of revenue for them, but it’s actually slowing down technological advancement—by forcing them to upgrade their products with iffy technology that will be obsolete quickly. If they announced one breakthrough phone every 2-3 years, i think we’d see better advancement in our cellphones. Imagine we could’ve skipped over iphone 5s entirely and gone straight to Face ID (the introduction of Touch ID and Face ID was only 3 years apart, I believe)

my feelings, exactly. i don’t know if i can justify paying a grand for a phone that’s main feature is based on a new network that doesn’t even impact me that much since i’m almost always connected to WiFi. I have an XS, and i would’ve upgraded if the style had been rehauled—but it also looks almost exactly the same but more square.

his "logic" was that if Swine Flu was as deadly as COVID, more people would've died, bc Swine Flu was more easily transmissible than COVID is. HOWEVER, this logic is flawed, and anyone who's taken even an intro Bio course in uni knows that there's an inverse relationship hypothesis between virulence and transmissibility--i.e. a DEADLIER virus is less CONTAGIOUS, and a more CONTAGIOUS virus is less DEADLY.

The Margot Affair by Sanaë Lemoine. I’m only 1/3rd of the way thru and so far it’s beautifully written. Hope to finish it soon, but it’s midterm szn....

I wonder if we’ll ever get a special edition/hand-bound copy. The pages are so beautiful looking, I wish they actually were textured like the print. This book is beautiful, and it would benefit so much from thick expensive handmade paper (and I’d be willing to spend 70-100 on it, tbh).
