I don’t want a cardigan I want a repress of all the original variants.
  9. For me, the idea that in 2024 the Democrats can mobilize a coalition that can outweigh, outrank, and outvote the white men who decide the Rust Belt’s electoral votes seems like a daunting task. I’m not saying I don’t believe she can do it, I just think there’s no room for error. HRC was sloppy in her campaign, largely bc she assumed the losses in the minority vote (compared to Obama) would be offset by white women, and that ultimately led to her losing by a razor thing margin. She spent the last week of her campaign in Arizona, which would’ve been a “nice to have state” instead of Pennsylvania or Florida, which were “need to haves”. Harris can’t make those same mistakes, and to her credit, I don’t see her doing so.
  10. But in all seriousness, this is gonna be a fight for Kamala and anyone who doesn’t want Trump in office again. She’s not guaranteed a win at all, and that is hugely important to remember. There’s no room for complacency amongst her, her staff, or Americans who don’t think a wanna-be dictator with nothing left to lose makes a stellar US President. In a way, my feeling ATM is that a Harris presidency is almost “too good to be true”
  11. he must’ve had a hard landing outta that coconut tree and smacked his noggin
  12. Additionally, it wouldn’t be “FDR-ing” her into the Presidency it would be “Truman-ing” her into the Presidency. Which any wannabe pundit should at least get right.
  13. Far too soon to say who's won (or even who is winning). Kamala just raised $100 million in largely grassroots donations. The party has banded behind her. And all the attention is on her. Keep in mind, no polls have yet been conducted with Kamala as the main choice for the Democrats (all of them were in the context of all in which you came Biden still being the presumptive nominee). Only a fool and a contrarian would want to claim this election is decided one way or another.
  14. Kentucky is a weird state bc they’ve only elected 3 republican Governors since World War II, yet they are pretty solidly red in federal elections.
  15. additionally, if she does win, I think it’s proof that we no longer need to worry about how much candidates appeal to older, non-college-educated white men. Basically everything both parties have done since 2016 is appeal to that base in specific (and rightfully so, that base is what cost Clinton the election, and what helped Biden win back the Rust Belt). But, if Harris can offset the loss of that group by gains in college-educated white women, 18-35 age groups, and POCs, then we can stop worrying about appealing to that base - and hopefully they can slink off into oblivion.
  16. Idk guys but for the first time in my teenage/adult life I can sit through a presidential candidate’s speech and actually smile and even laugh. We haven’t had someone who genuinely seemed like a pleasant person running since Obama.
  17. Personally I can’t believe there is a debate over whether to vote for an educated lawyer who called for a ceasefire in Gaza before the President did, or a guy who wears diapers and has spent the better half of this year in court for paying off a porn star.
  18. Wait Kamala is almost 60?? I literally thought she was in her 40s damn. I hope they get her up on that debate stage with Trump ASAP.
  19. he got shot and his first thought was “let me get my shoes”, lest anyone see him without the risers he uses to make himself look 6’2. He’s not just and old man, he’s an old egotistical maniac lol.
  20. The ironic thing is that now that he’s stepping aside, Biden’s popularity is about to surge and he’s gonna be needed more than ever on the campaign trail
  21. it should be a Rust Belt governor imo
  22. Just because both nominees are women does not mean they are regarded in the same way at all…Harris has less than half the baggage Clinton had.
  23. would it have been better in terms of fairness, for sure - but this is probably much more tactical. A contentious primary that would divide the party like in 2016 (and 1968) could’ve cost them the Presidency. If they can get their shit together and unite behind Harris bc there’s no time for debate, that’s probably for the best 🤞
