I think you’re confusing 2020 (Stein did not run but she was written in by some) with 2016. In 2016, Stein was on the ballot in all three rust belt states (and even spent millions on a recount). she’s simplifying it. She will “sign a law” but she needs to get a majority in Congress and the Senate to do so. She’s campaigning on the fact that she can help the ticket all the way down go blue. So far, Senate Republicans have blocked such a law (60 votes are needed, Dems only have 51 seats). Whether Harris can push enough people to vote Blue to gain a supermajority is unlikely.

Clinton lost by a margin smaller than Jill Stein’s (who has questionable Russia-ties) vote count in key battle ground states like WI, MI, and PA - that cost her the Presidency and lead us to where we are today. While it may be presumptive to assume every Stein voter would’ve preferred Clinton to Trump, there is irony that by voting furthest to the left, it lead to the win of someone furthest to the right.

Radical Optimism has grown on me soooo much it’s the perfect summer album. I think she released it too soon in the season and too close to other conglomerate releases and it got overshadowed, but it’s a perfect summer album. If it came out in June I think it would’ve had a much “bigger” moment.

I feel like Pitchfork considers anything above a 5 “above average” (they take the scale very literally/technically), whereas the rest of us consider around a “7” to be average.

They’re “soft launching” the era by releasing “Lasso” t-shirts. If they sell out, they’ll drop the album, if they don’t, Lasso will be scrapped.
