Her street style sort of fascinates me. Even though she's a billionaire, you'll never see her carrying something like an Hermes Birkin or wearing a Rolex (or any expensive watch, ever, really). I think a lot of it is curated to look "under the radar" and attainable (plus, she mixes in pieces from Urban Outfitter or Free People, which are not very expensive) + she does come from an Old Money family, so I guess some of her lowkey-ness is built in.

This thread is getting slightly ridiculous…she released a mid-song with a POS producer, but based on the reviews and sentiment here you’d think she violated the Geneva Convention I’m sure there will be bops on the album.

Echo is probably my favorite on the album. I think this album is a really interesting concept album. The acoustics, and the fact that it was recorded on analog tapes, make it a really cool piece in her discography. I don’t think it’ll be an instant classic, the way Immunity is, but I think this will be an important album in her artistic growth. It’s very well executed.

I don’t want to spend too much time on it because tastes will always differ, but imo Sabrina can get away with it because she’s self-aware in her own cringe - to where’s she’s lauded for being “so unserious” whereas what Katy is doing feels very serious and it feels like she’s not in on the joke. Hence, the song feeling cringe.

Everyone saying this is "her brand", but I disagree. Yes, simple pop lyrics were always her thing, but they were once very clever. Wide Awake, Pearl, Teenage Dream, Unconditionally, Roar - all while simple weren't basic, which I feel this verges on. I think the main problem is that if the melody was catchy enough, it could make up for it, but the way she just sort of speak-sings the verses ruins it. I think the album as a whole already sounds better than Smile, and it does feel like a proper Katy Perry era (as opposed to even Witness), but I am not sure if this single choice was the right direction. She can't really afford a stumble.

I genuinely think after the 0-hype era she had previously (#JusticeForNeverReallyOver) she purposely wanted controversy to create some noise. And it’s a HORRIBLE look /tactic - working with an alleged abuser does not fall under “no such thing as bad publicity.” If she wanted controversy she should’ve reignited a feud with Lady Gaga or something.
