I'm just as confused. I'm also a Nov 4 baby (hi ) and I, too, wanted to see it for my birthday. -
Lana and Elle at Dillard’s in Huntsville, AL - September 20th, 2023
Mash Tragic replied to Elle's topic in Sightings
OMG I manifested this so hard ever since that birthday sighting and I was going to write "Thought that was you again"... BUT IT IS YOU You both look soooo freaking beautiful -
Ofc but doesn't this rule apply for albums that are actually coming out? Like, not in 2323 or whatever non-existent future release date?

Lana & Nikki Lane at Rare Heart Vintage in Dallas, TX - September 19th, 2023
Mash Tragic replied to Elle's topic in Sightings
Yup, I've noticed it as well. I'm part of the tiny head gang and I'm glad that I have such gorgeous representation -
That kick is sending me The way she looks so bored five seconds before, then scores, and then walks away super nonchalantly as if nothing happened I'm super disappointed it's really calciatore, but honestly, the chorus of Salvatore doesn't make much sense to me anyway. Footballer, limousine, bye love, soft ice cream... Ok?

I love it so so much. Especially the part "If I'm not there...", idk it just sounds so special and meaningful and reminds me of the devotion expressed in Old Money or How To Disappear (I'm always going to be right here), but this time it's up to her partner to run for her. It always makes me super emotional to imagine (finally) having someone forever by my side. Side note while we're (still) at it with the Beautiful slander: if I'm not mistaken, I saw people comparing Sweet and Beautiful but I don't hear the similarities Sweet is currently part of my top 3 in OB while Beautiful... well, let's say I now tolerate the verses. Whereas, Sweet is an amazing song with a beautiful melody, a real chorus and lovely lyrics Now that's an unpopular opinion.

Well, I have to admit that it is a goofy and weirdly written line While (I think) I understand what's her point, it kinda sounds trivial(?). Like, Picasso wasn't just sad, he was extremely depressed, and the whole verse just sounds like Picasso saw a sad movie and decided to paint to get it out of his mind (especially with the eccentricity line before, it fails to portray the true, heartbreaking grief that fueled the whole blue period. It wasn't just an eccentricity in his case). The line does fall flat in that aspect. Interesting meaning, terrible wording.

Reminds me of that dream I had a long time ago where she had the big-ass 70s afro hair and a sparkly disco white jumpsuit I think I posted it somewhere, can't remember if it's the COCC or the BB thread, but yeah, I'm manifesting your dream over the cowboy thing
-
I dreamed the first single was a song in the vein of Holding Out for A Hero, it was cinematic but very epic and the MV was cowboy-themed. In one scene, Lana was riding a horse through a storm and in another, she was fighting with Nikki Lane under the rain There were also motorcycles at one point. She also reused the line "I've got guns in the summertime and horses too" in the intro, but it was echoed weirdly, autotuned and drowned in synths. Ngl it was bad. Thank god I'm no musician nor creative director

Love that she still has her obsession for ribbons! She looks so freaking stunning with this hairstyle

Ok it's time for me to confess that every time I listen to Margaret, I hear "rhino minor keeeey" Idk it just feels right after the rhino designer.
-
I don't think those are unpopular opinions tbh
-
Isn't it the whole point of the line though? She also says in Beautiful "don't tell me to be glad when I'm sad, I really hate that" so I've always understood both lines as a fuck you to the morons who try and cheer depressed people with some Live, Laugh, Love bullshit. They might mean well, but emotions aren't that simple (leaving aside the fact it dangerously minimizes their issues). I don't know, maybe I'm projecting

I'm seriously questioning my taste after reading everyone's opinion I love the tracklist and the way each song flows into each other. I actually find the album cohesive (it's diverse but sonically and/or thematically cohesive). Right now, I Love Hollywood, Erotic Electronic and Purr are the ones I love the most The only one I would've cut is Plastic. I think the song's a hot mess, but at least she's hot. I just listened to the outtakes and I don't think I would've change anything tbh. I really can't complain about the choices or changes she made. I love the album the way it is and I'm super happy with what we're getting. I guess it's the plus side of being tasteless

Funny/Cringe/No Context Internet Content About Lana
Mash Tragic replied to Embach's topic in Lana Thoughts
That first comment is so random and stupid I genuinely giggled It reminds me of the shit I used to write on RP forums when I was 12 though. It's cringe, but innocent cringe if that makes sense. I think I've already seen people on here complaining about those but the "Lana is back and she's cooler than ever" comments. It was cute the first time but now it makes me sigh and cringe everytime I see one of them -
YES. I can't really describe the feeling but Sagrad and Reality (demo) always put me in such a weird, melancholic, floating mood. No other music ever did that to me. Old Grimes was simply incredible.

I mean, the Tommy Genesis collab came out of nowhere so it might be not that far-fetched. I choose to believe Lana wants the most unhinged, unpredictable collabs for her next album

The very first CD I bought with my birthday money was Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad I was so obsessed I had her haircut (the short, straight bob). The first vinyl I had was an old copy of either The Dreaming or Hounds of Love by Kate Bush. I both found them during garage sales but I don't remember which vinyl I got first, just that it was a Kate Bush one

The Missing Titanic Submarine Was Using A $30 Video Game Controller
Mash Tragic replied to baddisease's topic in World News
Yep, I saw that, but apparently it still couldn't prevent them to go see the Titanic. It's just wild to me that an uncertified submarine could exit the warehouse. I guess they got around that by claiming it was experimental. Though I believe experimental vessels should be banned for touristic purposes. It's common sense not to use untrained people as guinea pigs. I can no longer like comments, it keeps saying there was a problem when reacting. It's frustrating, I want to like so many comments here sjdksjskdj. -
The Missing Titanic Submarine Was Using A $30 Video Game Controller
Mash Tragic replied to baddisease's topic in World News
Ngl I was obsessed with this story (like most people I guess) because of the possibility of finding them alive. Such a tragic way to go. The more I think about the whole "why did they go in such a crappy submarine", the more I think they must have feel safe because the pilot was the the co-founder. Obviously, you won't embark on a vessel you're not sure of. Hopefully uncertified submarines will be now banned from attempting to reach the wreck. If cars and boats have to go under tests to be used, how is that not mandatory for submarines used for tourism...? -
The Missing Titanic Submarine Was Using A $30 Video Game Controller
Mash Tragic replied to baddisease's topic in World News
That's what most experts said at the beginning of the search. Considering the cheap built of the submarine, I wouldn't be surprised it had a vicinity that led to an implosion (which would certainly be a better death, if that even exists). I'd rather have them dead quickly and without much pain than spiraling and suffocating for days, anxiously awaiting their fate. Though I guess the better outcome would have been to find them alive. What I find most surprising is the fact they lost contact only one hour after the submarine got into waters early in the morning. They were supposed to come back at 7pm, I think, and the guys on the main ship reported the disappearance two hours later (so at 9pm, almost a whole day after they lost contact). I'm sorry, but what the fuck were they doing? Aren't they supposed to monitor things? Why didn't they report the disappearance as soon as contact got lost? -

I feel awful for thinking that when lives are at stake, but I can't help finding outrageous to deploy sooo many ressources for FIVE people who paid $250k each to see pieces of rusting metal in the depths of the sea... Especially when you see that garbage submersible. No money would have convince me to set foot in it. To think they paid that much money for that outcome... Now of course I wouldn't say that if one of my relatives was in there, and it's really a freaking tragedy, but imagine how many deserving people those $250k*5 + the money invested in rescuing them would have helped. Instead, it's just thrown away deep in the water. -
I might win Worst Taste next year for that, but I enjoy LFL, COCC and BB a LOT more than NFR I revisit it so rarely I sometimes forget it even exists. It may be the fact I was super depressed when NFR dropped and I ended up mixing the music and my mental state at the time, but I rarely listen to it except for VB, Hope or FIILY. I'm usually deep in my feelings and thoughts when listening to music and NFR was the only Lana album that made me feel absolutely NOTHING. I love the songs though. I can feel the emotions put in them; they just don't resonate with my own and to me, that's way more important than lyrics or song structure. I just don't enjoy listening to them so I don't
