Well tbh my favourite songs on Blue Banisters are mostly the older ones (I loved Living Legend and Nectar of the Gods way before she released YouTube rips of them). And my Chemtrails fav is Yosemite. For that alone I just know I'd ruffle some feathers if I made a tracklist

Globelamp had a one-sided "beef" with Melanie Martinez and made rant videos about her too, spent months arguing with stans on Twitter. Birthing this infamous meltdown video "Don't mess with me— I'm a WITCH" We were just talking about her on another thread, but she's a lunatic who falsely accused her ex-boyfriend of domestically abusing her (there's long documented proof that it was actually the other way around). She started drama with Sky during the Downhill Lullaby era after Sky followed her ex— Sam France— on Twitter, and Globelamp went on this massive tirade calling her a fake feminist/abuse apologist/etc

I've never met anyone on here who dislikes Lana, but I can understand why non-fans would join the site, since we have a variety of other artist threads. Just stay out the Lana topics and you're fine lol, like this user @bluebanesters who'll hopefully stop coming into random artist threads for the sole purpose of provoking drama (they accused Melanie of copying Bjork too ☠️) Anyways, this is really awkward since Taylor released All of the Girls so recently too. Splitting with a lover after being together for so long sounds terrible.

I don't think Timothy wants to move on unfortunately, she still keeps tabs on Melanie's releases etc. She's also friends with the person who made the popular Twitter thread, which conveniently left out her story inconsistencies and shady behaviour. I wouldn't be surprised if she had used them to bring up the topic again, like she did with Globelamp, who was mass arguing with people on Twitter and her livestreams during K-12 release I've accepted atp it's gonna be brought up whenever Melanie does something; there'll be people who side with her, people who don't, and those remaining neutral. Luckily the album is still shaping up to be a big hit, and Melanie seems relatively unbothered by it all— I just wish she defended herself more…

I'm fairly certain Melanie had a strong concept for the maze/labyrinth imagery since 2020 at latest. As we've established, Maze was written and recorded during After School sessions, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was also an early idea for Portals; like Light Shower and Womb. And of course we can't forget the two Labyrinth songs produced by One Love in 2020 and 2021. None of those three made it to Portals, but Spider Web does have the lyric "Better off dead than stuck in a maze"— so the concept didn't completely die. She was also singing about synchronicities dating back to 2019, but surprisingly we didn't get any mentions of that on the final album.

This on its own isn't concrete evidence or anything, but the odd thing about that tweet to me was her liking #MMIsOverParty posts right afterwards. The whole situation felt calculated/planned in advance, she started posting about the allegation (Nov 2017) only 1 month after kickstarting her solo career (Sleep released Oct 2017) They already had bad blood by that point with Melanie apparently cutting her off and ending their friendship through text (TH later claimed she ended the friendship, so idk what the actual truth is) but I guess that's why she was calling her an arch nemesis in the first place. Such a mess

Let's keep in mind that Globelamp is a lunatic, it's long documented that she falsely accused her ex-boyfriend of abusing her when in reality it was the other way around. She used to fight Melanie fans daily and hurled all kinds of insults at people— like that's a very messy rabbit hole to go down (kinda makes sense why she was close friends with Timothy for so long but…) It is interesting though how she's not the first friend of Timothy's who defended her during the allegations and later spoke up against her. I forgot about the whole Frankie situation from 2018…

Rick's Lana songs usually all have a bunch of versions/mixes— like for example, Dragonslayer with over 30 or the leaked version of JFK being mix 29. Imagine how long a Say Yes to Heaven album would be including all of his + other producers' versions

He's using her as bait for attention/views from angry stans. He's been blatantly egging it on and fighting at his grown age with young kids who run fan accounts. He's like the low-rent equivalent to Fantano, and Fantano is already quite low-rent. Not paying attention to incel-coded "music critics" in 2023 I've actually been aware of him for awhile though and he's always given me dodgy vibes weirdly. It's reminding me a bit of the Onision vs. Crybabies war in 2016 when he started the whole "she sexualises babies" rumour and got his fanbase to riot against her…but the tables turned in the end, so yeah.

Information I've discovered myself, but she did talk a bit about Amulet and Nymphology in the track-by-track for Apple Music! The album transitions weren't added until sometime during/after August of 2022, that was also right around the time songs from Portals were being sent in for mixing

An interesting fact about the interludes is that they came very late in the game / were last minute additions while the album was being finalised, even the "Death is life is death is…" loop. Amulet being added onto Nymphology was also very random and spontaneous, she probably wanted Verde to have a production credit— but I'm glad she did!

People get so worked up over her it's actually hilarious… and to think all of its targeted at someone who doesn't know they exist Some Lana stans started really hating her this year because Portals is doing better than Ocean Blvd and they see her as a threat. I linked Death on that BlackoutZone thread and got mass backlash, I just know these people clench their fists when seeing her in recently updated.
