  1. A little thought for AKA, they are all above those of the Lana era for me, I really like this super intimate-motel-old man-super8 side of her old videos. Otherwise it's difficult but: • Ride (I love gas stations at night so much and the American dream of a young girl crossing the USA) • Summertime sadness (her white dress, cypress trees and iconic iPhone app) • Shade of cool (by far the most beautiful clip, the colors are really splendid here, and her cult strawberry) • Bel air (quite unknown to the general public but I really like the purity of this video, everything is perfect like Tropico) • Ultraviolence (I was really obsessed with this video so hated at the time, one of my favorite. I like this kind of video and it is iconic despite with Francesco) I would never forgive him for not doing a music video for Cola
  2. I was also following her at that time and I believe I saw it happen, I no longer have the exact memory but I would not be surprised. I think her producers cut everything to leave nothing of Lizzy.
  3. Wow I never would have thought there is a topic on it, let alone here! She never really broke but I really liked her music when I was in high school, it was fresh and fun. I never knew what became of her afterwards, and like the wave of pop / electro singers in vogue in 2010 she completely disappeared with this movement without being known to the general public. I'm happy that she is finally coming back with an album, I don't care if the sounds are dated it's really nice to find this time and see that she is fine.
  4. The same happened to me. Get free was the last song I would sign "of Lana Del Rey". Lots of hate around LFL and yet I think it's really Lana's last album. Is it wanted? Her life has changed in the meantime, it's true. But her latest projects are really boring. And it bothers me that people praise her latest albums as "her best" when she seems musically extinct to me. I think it blossoms in this direction but I hope one day that she will return to the sources, Ultraviolence or BTD but I can dream. Nevertheless on the personal side I think she needs to breathe and leave the old Lana who must represent all her problems, and as you say we feel a form of healing of trauma with her last 3 songs which sound like be very important in her life so that she reveals it as well. But yeah, I miss iconic Lana too. She makes me nostalgic for a time that we all lived by living with her in a certain way. Time goes by, we get sad and our favorite singers get a little more generic.
  5. At the beginning of her career she was this worried person and modeled by her stylists and all that, I was bad for her but her shyness made her so special. She really applied herself to singing and performed unique performances. It is true that in recent years she is no longer in this phase of anxiety but the fact that she does not care has made this magic go away little by little, I hope that one day she will do more concerts of fragility.
  6. I don't understand this hate either, but I think it stems from the fact that some are not sensitive to the construction of a song and prefer to hear the final song directly. Demos fascinate me personally, and I find Lana's history rich and interesting. It's truly inspiring to hear that a laptop sound can turn into an amazing song. Lana is a person who is always inspired and she has a really good creative process. It's part of her "homemade" universe, it makes her even more authentic in my opinion. And I like that she doesn't care
  7. Her music is like quicksand, we can really sink and when all is not well her music is not a refuge but a trap for many of us. I hope so and I understand how you feel too. Hopefully everything will be better for all of us. Take care of yourself my friend
  8. I understand how you feel, and you are right not to listen to her future album if you feel bad. Lana is fascinating but brings back painful memories. Honeymoon arrived at a very traumatic time in my life and it took 5 years before I could really listen to her, the slightest sound took me to very dark memories and in total depression, she has the gift of taking you to the lower even though her music is excellent. I hope you are doing well and that you will be able to overcome these traumas that haunt your life. Stay away from anything that can hurt you. We are like a little family here, and there is enough news on her new album for her to be able to follow her from a distance. Courage my girl and don't hesitate to speak if you are not well
  9. I think Marina has made a big shift this year (and last year) and gives great quality songs, a perfect production, as well as a simple but very interesting visual at the same time. She really manages to handle it all at the same time. I'm more excited for Marina's work than Lana is right now. Marina gives everything despite the little interest given to her by the general public and I really like the fact that she goes to the end and gives an era of quality despite the budget difficulties. She makes us happy. Lana still has that talent, that voice but as a big fan her latest projects are lazy and not really good. The visuals don't make sense, the songs are weak and she goes into a minimalist frenzy that begins to be painful. She no longer works. The music she makes these is pretty empty. For me she is not comparable to Marina through this era. Lana needs to get out of this cliché, because writing poems doesn't have to rhyme with making boring music.
  10. West coast is absolutely untouchable indeed. I don't know if she'll be able to remake such an amazing song like this.
  11. Pop is really boring. Something has really been missing for 6 years, these artists have contributed so much...
  12. I find the 3 singles above the Chemtrails album that I really didn't like, I like the fact that they talk about her private life but they are still weak even if I see where she wants to go. I agree with your opinions and I miss part of her. I know that everything is far away now, she has grown up; evolved blah blah but I need to fall in love with her songs again. Like the very first time I heard each new song in his repertoire, going from Born to die to Lust for life, this excitement, the heart that rises... She misses this time where her songs were very marked and timeless, without boredom. Damn, I'm hoping that the leaks will give me that because I know that his new music / poem will no longer have this effect. Mike lied saying that these 3 tracks would be fire, yes they are from Lana but it's not as hot as that and we come back to the same point: there is better but we are going in circles. Sometimes I would like her to stop taking herself for a poet who writes so many things that they no longer make sense. I think we praise her writing so much for nothing and now she does too many headlines thinking that every stroke of the pencil will be genius. It could, but it is no longer the case. I really need to travel again through her songs, to feel a texture, a heaviness, a marked universe. She set the bar too high to give up. I think she has no more inspiration and the fact that she tries to do too many songs as if her life depended on it is damaging her talent. We revolve around the same themes, the same sounds, the same universes, everything is so similar since NFR that we do not realize that she is going to release another album... She is productive but more in a good way, for me it takes out funds from the drawer that should remain in its hard drive. So its productivity is not really useful because the songs are less quality, she has become lazy through the promo, photos, covers... We do not know where we are. The girl relies a lot on her prestigious name and she knows it, but until when? It's frustrating.
  13. I'm so happy that she kicked Jack for good this time around, Mike has an interest in bringing out all that is good in her!
  14. She's so fucking back I didn't get over PTP that she released this. The video is simple and beautiful it suits her so much, then the song is fabulous! It makes me look like a feminine Tame Impala, I really like it! It is perfect, this era is perfect! She put in so much effort to make us happy and understood what was wrong with L + F, she became the colorful pop singer we love again! It's so rare these days to have a comeback like I am proud of her. Now I feel Man's world as a flaw, it's a beautiful song and a remarkable music video but the single should have been just on its own, it doesn't really look like the rest which looks more psychedelic to me. But I feel bad for her with Lana who will drop 3 songs tomorrow, shit I hope she will not steal all the hype and the attention of Marina so deserved
  15. Sirens: Aviation AKA: Oh say can you see BTD: Video games Paradise: Cola UV: West coast (and radio mix, perfect) HM: Honeymoon LFL: Get free NFR: Norman fucking Rockwell COTCC: Yosemite
  16. Blue jeans, the video version has an incredible intro and outro. You feel sucked into a never-ending relationship. Honeymoon is poisonous, how dark and oppressive it is under this great scorching sun. It reminds me of a horror movie. Cola is absolutely beautiful and timeless. Ride on a road that opens with a mighty sunset, with a handsome old man next to it.
  17. Orange trees aaah this song I had completely forgotten. I was shocked how her personality had changed at this point. She was bright and so soft. The song is soft and sunny to go to the beach, but for an artist like Marina, let's face it, it was really weak. But she tried to get into the general public with it (I often heard Orange trees in a garden store). With L + F I think Marina wanted to turn the page on the crazy English girl, Marina the business rejected. She clearly wanted a change: the new life in LA, the beach, sun, sweetness, networks, positive life, psychology, feminism, new friends, deleted diamonds... I know her desire to format herself to please the greatest number and the flop of EH must have left traces because she must have thought that she would succeed in being very well known by becoming this adored pop star. And I really think her ex-boyfriend from Clean Bandit influenced her to make the wrong musical choices. It must be said, CB is not good and he messed up Marina. I think that with her breakup she returned to normal a bit, more herself. The convictions are unchanged but we still feel a return to the old Marina. So let's hope that she has become aware that she must not let influence but be herself in her music. PTP is still that amazing bop (the remix doesn't exist).
  18. Video games like many of you. It was early August 2011 so in summer. Amy Winehouse had just died and I was still listening to Back to Black a lot, including the title song. I spent my time on a music site every day to see new releases, on my brother's computer. I see an article that says "Lana Del Rey: Video Games Makes the Web Buzz", something like that. I walked past I didn't click because I thought it was uninspiring buzz shit. Then in the evening I still saw this article but in the big window of the site to put it forward and I wondered what had this artist had so that they put it forward. The miniature was the young people on the scooter. I clicked and it directed me to Lana's channel, the video already had 4 million views. It was written LANA DEL REY-VIDEO GAMES (since deleted), there was no Vevo behind this channel. My brother was next door and I said "wait, I'm going to turn on the sound to listen to a song". And... Oh the slap. I can't tell you what happened but it had been so long since I had heard a song so beautiful, very good and sad at the same time. It was everything I liked. It was grandiose, I said to myself "it's a classic". The clip did something to me, it was memorable. The same evening I went to download this song with a converter site, I knew from that moment that Lana would be one of the few artists to stay with me forever because I knew from her voice that she would be a timeless classic.
  19. It's not terrible, Marina is much better at singing alone, her voice is difficult to mix. This remix doesn't bring anything like Man's world but I'm glad she did a little update
  20. It's so strange and sad. I feel that connection too.
  21. One of my favorite Lana songs of all time, thanks for the reminder. It will always make me cry, no matter where you put it. 10 years already, I can not believe it. I can't believe Amy wasn't dead then and that they could have collaborated.
  22. Me too. I can't believe we went through it, it was so intense.
  23. It would be a dream. She has enough material to make a complete edition of each album in addition to unpublished photo sessions, videos that she did not release, anecdotes, documentaries, interviews, newspapers, goodies, texts... And the list is long as she is an artist with so many possibilities, she could put out anything that it would be interesting to explore, especially in these iconic eras She often says that Born to die is her baby and has a very special affection for this record, she will inevitably refer to it next year. It remains to be seen if she will be in the mood for a reissue, she goes through the projects at full speed and does not really land, so go back to an old album to refine it I do not know if she will. Which would be a missed opportunity, yes. I hope at least a documentary made by her relatives or by her even if she does not do the rest
  24. COTD was an iconic album, incredible the whole world was shaken by the quality of this record and of this Madonna who gave so much of herself. But her last years her albums are a disaster and there is not much that can save her. I don't think she would drag Lana into this dance world since her best is over, so who is. The place where she excels is the melancholy walks, she has remained intact (Voices, Messiah ...), if they make songs of this scale the world will not be ready
  25. @BluebirdXO Yes I understand that, it's true that our friends sometimes have nothing to do with our decisions but I noticed that Lana was a bit like that, and that her albums and her attitude changed over the people she dated. But I agree with you with this view of things.
