  1. Exactly it was just fucking unique and unique for an artist and never seen before. This feeling was perfect. Mermaid Motel is also my favorite music video ♥ and I want her to re-edit this album or give us old songs / photos / anecdotes for this era that really deserves to be official in her discography.
  2. I did not read your message before posting and I think exactly like you. The artist she was at the beginning and now has changed, yes in the meantime she has become a superstar, an icon, but until 2015-2016 she still had this "old Lana" thing that reminded us of her art at the top. Now we feel that she has succeeded, she has achieved her goal and her dream, she knows that her fans will buy everything she offers since she has understood the magic recipe for making good music and no longer cares about the rest. She is very self-centered, bordering on narcissism, and her recent scandals remind me of an authentic girl who has become too spoiled, a princess like a rich 18-year-old girl. I miss her awkwardness at the start, her smiles, her red cheeks and her shyness. Her garage jackets too haha. She has gained confidence, that's good, but part of her authenticity is definitely gone. She's calculating her image too much now and it ties in with my post where I think she lost that "lana del rey" thing where she seemed so proud of her music videos, her songs, her life, everything. The advantage is that she will never release bad songs and thank God, but yes this old Lana, shy, young in Hollywood, emotional, her so particular way of making her songs with arrangements of her own has disappeared to make way has a rich star far from reality as Lady Gaga has become over time... She would have entered the music market with what she offers today, I wouldn't have really paid attention. Authentic Lana before> Lana Del Rey today
  3. Homemade videos from the AKA period have an amateurish, poorly done thing that I really like, and that makes more sense to me. It was really Lana, that thing. The high definition clips annoy me, I don't like the cameras that are too sharp on her. Something is missing in his new clips. I don't like the iPhone 8mm format since NFR it sounds too wrong, it's too sharp, too premeditated and simulated. Chuck's Pawn Shop Blues video is messed up, and definitely everything this girl touches in relation to Lana is messed up, she's too basic. There are some beautiful moments in the clip but this but this fake super8 ruins everything. Ultraviolence is a too hated video. I liked it directly, and it was an instant crush. This clip made in fact super8 amateur made quickly on laptop in one afternoon is what I miss about her, her little iconic moments like that, very vintage.
  4. @Angelic Tropico I don't trust her but like you said we don't know them personally and we judge their lives by guesswork. The investigation that I had read in a book seemed serious enough to approach strange leads and question her about it (doses of heroin too strong, telephone conversations...). Again, this was an unpopular opinion and an opinion I wanted to share, I suspected that there would be people who would find it a little mean. We do not know. There is a possibility that Kurt could have hated his wife the last few days and resented her forever, like not at all. We don't know what was going on in his head the last few days and maybe he had a great hatred for her. Kurt wasn't an angel, but I don't think he was a bad guy. Just unhappy by various events in his life. I sincerely think if he wouldn't have met Courtney that he would be alive. It's an interesting subject, and if you collect all the evidence you find, it's really weird and all of it keeps me from loving Courtney like no other. For Lana, I got carried away earlier, she does what she wants and it's not me who will prevent her from having the friends she wants, but this association will always disappoint me (until 'until we have a real truth). Afterwards, so much the better if the fans like and appreciate.
  5. @Angelic Tropico It's good to have this opposite opinion, it's interesting. Seen like that, I hate a little less when you say that Lana just wanted to get to know her, but I don't know this woman is so confused... You're right when you say it's horrible to speculate because we don't know them personally, but this woman doesn't inspire me confidence, a murderous vibe. We may never know the truth, which is a shame because it divides a lot of people. If she really hasn't done anything, I feel infinitely sorry for what I said and ashamed of myself, but there are too many weird things that bother. I know Kurt worshiped his wife like a God (heart shaped box), but in the end they wanted a divorce and their relationship seemed to be abusive. Then all these people who frequented very closely either had problems or they died mysteriously. After all, one can speculate for years and years. When with Lana, I hope she stops associating with her, and even though Courtney is an icon in spite of herself, she brings bad vibes.
  6. I think it's gonna be unpopular but I really hate that Lana is friends with this Courtney Love b***. I am a big fan of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain, I read quite a few books about his death and saw a flood of reports on his personality, I must have spent hours watching old videos of him during her tours finally, I don't know how this witch can have the life she has today and the fact that everyone has forgotten makes me sick. I'm really pissed off that she isn't in jail, even though we don't know the truth there is so much about her that brings her closer to a possible murder and her unhealthy behavior with Krist and Dave speaks a lot (royalties, whims, nastiness...). I know Lana is a fan of Nirvana, and being friends with Courtney is a way to get closer to Kurt but shit, I was never able to digest her friendship with this horrible woman and it pisses me off deeply that these showbiz people close their eyes and keep inviting her to ceremonies and parties when shit, it makes me sad for Kurt. Lana disappointed me so much when she took this bitch on her tour and all that friendship stuff, she's not a real fan sorry. I had hoped when Frances yelled at him that it would definitely put their friendship in the trash but no, she forced to be it again and this time it's final and it annoys me so much. Lana, don't say you love Kurt because no, you close your eyes to what happened to him and like everyone else. I know she fantasizes about rockers and drug addicts but it's fucked up. She really annoys me when she does things like that. After everyone has their opinion on the matter, others believe and others do not. I want to say that Courtney makes good music but I hate this bitch and all the people she made to die around her for her cause and her money.
  7. This thing may have ended up breaking the already fragile bond they had but thinking about it I think it's more the entire life trajectory and the setbacks of Lana's past that has hurt her.
  8. We don't know, she comes from a fairly Christian family it seems to me and maybe seeing Lana transforming like this was painful for her and it ended up breaking the fragile bond that there was between them, but as you say it can be something else. Then that's a guess lol.
  9. I think Lana and her mother have ever shared the same outlook on life. Lana has had plenty of men in her life, a bohemian musician life, a quite different trajectory with alcohol, a little more adventurous life than her parents and I think her mother never really accepted what she did and what she became in the first place. Maybe cosmetic surgery is something she never forgave her daughter. But this is only my opinion I think we will never know as this is a private matter.
  10. You read my mind. I always wanted this and this the first time I heard BTD. imagine Lana taking back the flights of Beth that just wouldn't be real. Make her hear that message and same for trip-hop, best genre musical.
  11. I love it when she has black hair, it fits so well with her music! She's badass here. But the pictures could have been better, here it looks like an old magazine which took the rain (ok I just understood that it is certainly the flash of the camera that does this)
  12. Kill me but I absolutely love this look. She was magnificent. Retro, baroque, opulent, Lana with her hairstyle. It was missing some jewelry, but I loved it when it was original like that. She stood out this girl. The picture you took is bad it's true lol
  13. It's strange because I have the impression on the contrary that she is more and more respected and loved. Everyone knows her today, whereas before she was ignored and "few" people knew her music except those who had taste. She's become an inspiration and a lot of people don't hide from it like they used to, but I get what you mean I went through this in the BTD, UV and HM era where she was quite unpopular for some reason.
  14. I really thought it was an old cover when promoting Honeymoon, it really looks great! Now what will she say? I think she will come back to these moments of trouble with the mask, the accusations of racism, that she will talk a little about her private life and obviously about her music. But I feel that Lana has changed and gained confidence now so she is no longer the type to line up behind others, it could be salty. I just hope it won't be a negative interview or she will make her spoiled princess
  15. http://churchoffilm.org/archive.html This site is a small gold mine with lots of indie films, mostly unknown art. Difficult to find but I have found a lot of them on illegal sites. If you have time, you might be interested.
  16. There is so much to do with her world and her songs, she has so many obvious directions that her boring boxsets are frustrating !! the super 8 with unseen videos of her private life, an application dedicated to her songs, ultra limited cassettes of some rare demos, VHS, perfumes, embroidered handkerchiefs, unpublished photos, boxes of cigarettes, key holder rings with a fake emerald, sandals notebooks fake bible ... even wacky things like her swimming pool water or whatever This chick is an aesthetic all by itself and she does nothing this lazy. Her masterpieces deserve more praise. Not like her Violet box, which is a scam with its wood and plastic at $ 2, or her bland photos in the center of a white sheet of paper. If she doesn't take up your incredible ideas, I don't understand, it's genius and it would go too well with her. Ultraviolence was perfect anyway, there was the effort.
  17. Coming back to ARTPOP, it's obvious that since the flop of this album, she has never been the same again. Something broke, in her and in her work. She reminds me of those girls who get great grades for years and end up with bad grades and reviews in just one project, they get depressed and lose confidence in themselves. This flop affected her and yet she should not be ashamed of this album which has a very good concept. From the first listen, I liked all the tracks (except Fashion! But it's not too horrible). The project was awesome, weird (who remembers when she was naked in a forest, naked on a big ice cube and doing weird stuff with a yellow crown on her eyes) but all those problematic artists ruined this album (not musically, at the press level) and I think she did not endure the bad press received and the confidence brought. The fact that she bought an IM (Aura) track impressed me, it was daring and there was research into these sounds. The visuals were very beautiful, even the cover, and each track was unique. It was the end of the EDM era but I liked it and it didn't disappoint. Every song was of high quality and much deserved to be released as a single. Everything was good, even Jewels N Drugs, not its best but not its bad. He would have deserved a visual album! Everything was ready for! GUY was an amazing level of pop and the perfect music video, but it came too late, people had hit the hook + the scandals (remember when she hired an artist who vomited paint), this album was poorly sold because of that. She had gone too far. But that was what I liked about her, she caused a scandal and followed her ideas to the end. Mary Jane Holland ♥ she made my last evenings. It was her last dash of daring, she was really alive here. I don't think we will find her again like this and I'm pretty sad. She lost her madness and all these rewards made her believe that she needed to become more generic. And her acting career, I'm not enthusiastic, she's a much better musician. Politics didn't help her either, she's ridiculous to think of herself as a politician and to do things she doesn't know (politics is complex and rich musicians should stay out of it) but this It's like that, I guess she longs for something else now but it's a shame to scatter all over the place, she wants to do too much and doesn't do it well. Music will remain her best domain.
  18. I mostly agree with your posts, Chromatica is not a good album. I only selected 911, Alice, Replay, 1000 doves (piano) and that's it. It's a first for a Pop album of her. Even Joanne had her charm (although he disappointed me). She is no longer motivated to be this chaotic and sulphurous popstar, and it shows. I don't think I will ever get into this album, the songs are bland, tasteless, generic and uninteresting. Everything seems forced here. Rain on me is horrible song (kill me), and Ariana spoils everything. She deserves to collaborate with more interesting artists. They don't go together at all. And then the duration, too many short and forgettable songs; calibrated for streaming ultimately. As soon as I saw the clip for Stupid Love I thought it was a parody because it was so ugly, the clip awful, the choreography cheap and its ridiculous costumes. I salute the effort but I don't really know what shit about this era, I know she's sick but an acoustic piano album of her old songs would have been 1000 times more interesting than Chromatica which a big oven if she didn't couldn't handle all the work behind it. Everything is messed up and this canceled promotion is annoying, it should be justified once and for all.
  19. I'm going to tell a bit about my life, but Born to die came out a day before I turned 19 and I'll never forget it. I bought it on a Friday night when I got out of school, missed my bus so I could buy it, and I did myself violence while waiting to listen to it on Saturday morning. I was horny and couldn't sleep because I really wanted to know what she was capable of coming out of after VG and BJ which had obsessed me for months. I was in my bed, it was snowy and it was very cold outside, but a bright sun was beating down on my bedroom window. Then the album starts to run on my hi-fi system and... it was magnificent, it had been a long time since I had felt such an emotion while listening to an album. I knew Lana would be one of those artists who would follow me all my life. I went over Summertime sadness all morning, the chorus on repeat and started to write heartbroken poems again, it sounded so good. This album gave me so much inspiration to express what I felt deep inside me, but it helped me live the same way it has somewhere. I really had this weird connection with her, and these weird fantasies of rich old men... This album made me have some strange and new experiences that I had inside me, it's weird to talk about it but I started dating men much older than me and having a romance with married men, especially teachers (including a teacher that a friend of mine had in class but she never knew). We went to shabby hotels in the countryside and we were like fiery lovers, hidden, like alone in the world. We ate in front of the sunsets, and I felt special and wanted. I loved being around these older men and Lana was always in my ears, nothing was real and nothing had consequences, it was like living in a novel. It's weird and shameful today, but yes Lana certainly pushed me to do this and I have a positive memory of it (and I did it very discreetly). Paradise had a toxic and addictive flavor at the same time, impossible to forget the first sound of Cola I heard it was poisonous. Fuck this thing I managed to grab it. The album shocked me. Lana has truly demonstrated incredible creative and musical genius, and these albums will remain eternal classics and I'm proud of what she has accomplished. I don't really like the elitist side of fans who say BTD is overproduced, but I understand that. Still it's Lana's DNA, I can't see her without these albums and a Lana Del Rey without these major albums wouldn't be her. After Ultraviolence there was less power and more smoothness, but voila, I always come back to these classics like almost 10 years ago. Impossible to listen to Lana without going through it again. He is a classic. Everything is perfect here, the production through the texts, the American universe a little dirty, adolescent, and sad, a parallel dimension. BTD + Paradise albums are two PERFECT albums. I dream that she will make us a deluxe anniversary boxed edition with demos, unpublished, outtakes with unpublished photos. And I would ask more if she would show us the moment when she records this masterpiece in the studio with sequences where we see her singing, writing ...
  20. Look, you're driving me fucking crazy. What's your problem? I piss off translating and correcting myself so you don't get disturbed. I'm a shit in English I know but how many times are you going to remind me? If it's not clear enough you can trace your road.
  21. True. When you know the extravagance and creativity of Marina, this black and white portrait cooled me down and made all the songs dull. The clips were beautiful, but without themes. Generic as possible. She should have put on colors because to celebrate life and the positive it was pretty bland. Marina was beautiful but too much magazine cover, we know how much fun she can be! L + F is not a bad album, just too naive and too far from what it always has been. She reminds me of a rich Californian who discovers life outside her golden bubble, I know she is not like that but the hollow texts made her a little tasteless. She's so talented, she's made amazing albums. I believe in her. We have to encourage her, I think her next album will be much better than L + F (hoping that she tackles more imaginary and less real themes like politics, feminism because artists know nothing about it)
  22. I always wonder how lucky Lana was that she was so famous, because her excellent music is clearly not commercial. When "Video Games" came out, the radios were in the age of easy short pop and electronic music from Avicii, and his songs were not announcing great success. It truly is a miracle that she reached that superstar rank today. It wasn't really won and I'm proud of her. I really hope for a comeback for these baroque pop sounds like "Born to die" someday otherwise I'll die and no, "Born to die" is not an overrated album, it's just perfect. He does not age and will never get old. It is timeless and its production sounds very Lana. If she would have released "Let me love you like a woman" or "Chemtrails" as her first single, she wouldn't have caught anyone's attention.
  23. sunday afternoon

    Poppy

I followed the Poppy bubblegum era and was really impressed with the genius concept behind it, and Titanic (which despite its controversies, you have to admit he's really good at leading this project and music in an interesting direction). Everything was smart, well thought out and very well done. It was exciting to follow. And then there was Mars Argo, a supercilious neglected artist and these stories of plagiarism, theft, violence afterwards, I'm sad that it all ended like that because each of them has a great talent. Mars Argo I love her so much, I hope for her return but I don't really believe in it anymore. Poppy has a crazy evolution, and I'm amazed to see that she releases solid albums every time, with a totally different and worked aesthetic. I really liked her Pop period, it was perfect, and her albums after her little gems to listen to without moderation. I still hope she will someday return to classic songs, just without all that pink but an accessible dark pop record. I don't hate what she's doing right now, but I find it hard to realize that it's her, some songs are hard to listen to. I have the impression that she has always been inspired by her boyfriends for her ideas and her music. I find it hard to understand if she's the one behind it or if it's just a "I'm becoming physically like my boyfriend because I love him". That said, she remains a separate and interesting artist, she works a lot to release albums quickly.
  24. Melanie had started well, and then K12 and After School really turned me off. Cry Baby's releases are much better than K12. This album is definitely a failure. I wait for her in a dark universe and a heavier production, she masters her art to perfection so I don't understand how she can release such bad titles.
