it's so weird to me that people call themselves fans of an artist and then scrutinize them when the artist doesn't do exactly what you expect them to.
this is charli xcx we're talking about here. and she's a leo. she is bound to reinvent herself and her sound a million times over from this point.
 
and to be honest, 80's influenced music isn't even like my thing necessarily? 
but from snippets alone, this sounds like it will truly be her best body of work so far. to me.

new shapes is a glorious and powerful ass anthemic track. goes soooo hard in the car. this is so next level i just can't believe there are "fans" that are upset with charli for evolving lmao.

imo charli doesn’t actually want to truly sell out…this era she wanted to play a character who is a sell out evil popstar if she wanted to i’m sure she could genuinely sell out and create boom clap 2.0 ft ed sheeran…but she ain’t doing that luv!

I keep seeing stuff about the Donda stem speaker and it reminds me of SOPHIEs idea for the streaming service that gives fans access to every stem and edit of the song and allows the music to be heard in its most true form or whatever she said  what an incredible idea I wish someone would pull through and attempt to create a service like that the opportunities are endless 

2 of the biggest pop albums of the last 2 years being future nostalgia and planet her each had plenty of songs over 3 minutes. she's not a breakthrough mainstream artist like pinkpantheress, she has an established cult following of leak scavenging girls and gays who are all going to go download the fanmade extended versions from dbree or sermoncloud. i really do not understand this decision... MARCH???

ok tbh yeah i agree i was hoping for at least 40 minutes but i’m assuming she was aiming for the most accessible, playlistable, radio play-able songs possible 
 
and as she said, the sweet spot when writing those is 2:30-3mins 

Nah, I'm not asking for this either cause I know streams are THE thing today and everyone likes playlists and stuff. Just 3:00 - 3:40 lengths instead of 2:10 - 2:30  as a person who prefers to listen to albums instead of playlists, adding 7 minutes to that 33-minute album as a whole really changes things

Truly her evil era I fear  

guys the songs are short because she wants more streams, it makes sense when the whole thing of this era is "selling your soul for success"

Pop 2 is almost 10 minutes longer and has less tracks...
 
I'm not saying every song should be Track 10, but why not have one song standout and be, IDK, 5 minutes?
