  1. Reminder: she made a dumb song with grande and cyrus. She wants it
  2. i mean... it all depends on the promo. It's lana (she's had 15 entries before); it's quavo (he's had even more), and it's a BOP. the issue isn't the song or the artists. The issue is the promo (or lack thereof). Again, two little snippets is not marketing. Where is the hype? Where are the stories on socia? Where is the video teaser? Where are interviews with lana x quavo? Zane lowe? Bbc? Annie mac? Where are the billboards? Where is the youtube takeover? Where is the release date? Tv performance if the song underperforms, it will not be lana's and quavo's fault. Just sayin'
  3. Yeah, Tough is an 8/10 song at least (need to hear good quality to know for sure) Fishtail more like a 6/10 (sorry fishtail fans) And, yes, I think this might be her best collab. Certainly more vibey than Snow, LFL or even Summer Bummer
  4. Nice! Can you also mock up the image with the black guy in a T that says "I love sluts" and lana next to him smiling? I think that would even cooler actually
  5. Is this news? She's doing a shoot?
  6. Unfortunately, all of this makes sense. Though I have to say that I'm not that impressed with their plan. Posting two snippets on socials is hardly revolutionary marketing. Especially when it's done in a basic bitch way (cover photo + snippet), as opposed to how, say, Billie teased her shit. And performing the song live, I mean.... A live? For promo? Groundbreaking.
  7. Very true. Who knows, maybe Interscope is looking for the most optimal date. If they've invested a lot of money in the promo (we have yet to see a single dollar), they'll really be gunning for a big hit. Maybe they're preparing some remixes too. They released, like, four when Say Yes to Heaven Came Out. God, I'm defending them even though I low-key hate them.
  8. I'm so over it., personally. The only thing that's keeping me tuned in is hope that they're working on promoting the shit out of it because they know they have a good shot at Billboard top 20. So, finalizing the artwork, putting up billboards, color correcting the videos ,sending the song to radios, setting up intervieews, playlisting, SEO, listening parties... If the song ends up getting the standard issue LDR single dorp treatment, then I'll be seriously pissed.
  9. I mean they heard the Tough snippets and Mirror preview. They're trying to act like insiders but don't really have information.
  10. Not quite true. Cruel World is not a ballad, more of a psychedelic rock song. Love is more uplifting than a standard ballad; more dream pop, really. Born to Die may have been a ballad at inception, but the production and the beats made it a lot more cinematic/baroque pop. Ride is a ballad for sure, but with a lot of oomph and lush, cinematic production, making it feel more like baroque pop. Norman, Text Book, Honeymoon, and the Grants are definitely straight-up ballads, though.
  11. I love MVs, it's a brilliant artform in itself. And Lana has surely had some mind-blowing ones. Like Bjork once famously said "People are stupid. They don't understand music, you need to show them what it looks like." (Paraphrasing) Lana's videos have had a huge impact on her early image, and helped make he rinto a pop star as much as the music itself has. The only thing is: no one watches videos anymore, so it feels like money down the drain. Candy Necklace was one of her best (top 5 imo), but it got like 4 M views. So, I'd rather see one great one per album that people are actually going to watch. You know what I mean? BB had 3 videos that were only seen by die-hard fans. And they weren't even good. So, for me, it's becoming a bit of a waste of time for her. One FABULOUS video per era ala Candy Necklace is parfait.
  12. For me, one MV per era is enough (no one cares for MVs much anymore). And I'm glad Tough is getting the music video treatment. I'm assuming that the title track 'Lasso' might also be getting one, or at least a home made video.
  13. A Billie collab would be the greatest thing ever. I feel like Billie is at the height of her powers this year. Also, just imagine these songs all being on the same album. 1. Mirror (the new intro song from Boston) 2. Tough feat. Quavo 3. Lana feat. Billie 4. Prettiest Girl in Country Music feat. N. lane 5. Henry, Come on Already I prefer this record to Ocean Boulevard, BB and Chemtrails.
  14. it's lana's track. She sings the opening chorus alone, then he joins, has his bit, then they sing together, then the bridge is mostly hers, then they sing together. She's all over the song and he's more a feature. the asthetic and country / trap vibe wouldnt fit his album aesthetic at all this is a lasso cut. He probably gave it to her and she's probably adding it like she added doin' time. Thats why the delay... that's why she doesnt know the lasso direction... also, would they be making a video for a one-off? No. It's on someone's album for sure. And since she premiered it at her concert and she's the one signing the most - it's hers
  15. Quavo just posted a story saying "Just got the relase date for tough" and then said nothing else that little bitch
  16. My two cents: it's a fuller, lush song, but they've shortened it. They wanted something fresh for the intro, Lana probably likes it, and they didn't want to reveal the whole song. Which is why it sounds incomplete. Also, it makes a lot of sense that it's the Lasso opener for several reasons: 1. well, she just opened a new era gig with it, 2. she mentions Lake Placid in it, and she mentioned Lake Placid at the end of the previous record, 3. it's time for her album title track to be first, and I'm pretty sure she uses the word "lassoing" in this song; it can be the title track. Personally, I would love it if it was the opener! It would be her first opener that's not a ballad since 'Love' (2017). If it went from that, into Tough, that would be a pretty fucking solid 1:2 punch.
  17. I'm just thinking - that's not gonna do much. Venice bitch also premiered there, and mariner's, and chemtrails i think. But they didn't really have much success we need something bigger
  18. probably 2 weeks from now. they're likely putting up billboards to promote the single, sorting out playlists, doing youtube seo, talking to bbc about premiering the track there, etc. i've lost hope that "soon" meant 1-2 days
  19. Fun fact: Tough reel has 38.1 million views and counting. Soon it will exceed that "cheers" reel with riley k. and become the most watched ldr reel
  20. Please God let it be Billie, and not Olivia or Katy. Even Taylor would be great - for the country vibes and some through-the-fucking-roof streaming numbers for Lasso.
  21. It has a great beat, it's catchy, it's a little bop. Sure, it's repetitive and it's clear that they've looped some parts to extend it or not to reveal the entire song. But let's not dismiss a Lana bop that easily, por favor. They're so rare! I'm sure you'll have 10 other slow, acoustic, piano-driven songs on the record. Let us have this! haha
  22. I'm kind of hoping for punchier, short titles. E.g., Honeymoon, Ultraviolence, Born to Die That's why Tough, Mirror and even Henry, Come on are all working for me. The Grandfarther, please stand on my shoulders etc was a cool phase, but we don't need more 20 word titles.
  23. Well, until the single (f-ing drops), here's the full song from the concert, bridge and all. Warning: do not listen if you don't want to spoil it for yourself with bad quality. Only listen if you're desperate (like me): https://youtu.be/zHCO2vDjzS4?si=KV3yhlvKjoeGSQIe
